Two provocative formations!!
Two Asteroids!!
A full moon that affects you more if you have your Sun, Ascendant, personal planets, or Midheaven at the following degrees:
14° to 19° of Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, and Pisces
25° to 29°59′ of Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, Aquarius
06° to 08° of Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn
Explosive Full Moon
On August 19, 2024, one of the most challenging moons we have seen in a while takes place. A Full Moon in Aquarius that peaks alongside several difficult aspects, bringing intensity, dynamic situations, sudden revelations, separations, and karmic releases.
Starting with the Full Moon itself, the Sun is in Leo and the Moon in Aquarius. Every full moon is a culmination. A culmination that in some cases successfully completes situations and in others brings tensions, intense realizations, and revelations.
In this specific full moon, we have the passion and dramatic self-reference of Leo on one hand, and the emotional detachment through rationalization of the Moon in Aquarius, on the other.
This contradiction in a positive version of the Full Moon, that of “completion”, if we are creating for example a work of art, is excellent! Because it would limit expressive excesses and help us create a work that pleases everyone and concerns the public and the collective, while simultaneously remaining original and intensely expressive.
However, in the difficult version, that of the “climax of tension”, for example, in a relationship, imagine the conflict you would feel inside if you couldn’t express your passion, your warmth, because the other person remains emotionally detached.
Or, in another example, the tension that gnaws at you, as the ego you feel is so intense regarding an issue that troubled both of you, and thus you cannot let your feelings see things more objectively, and with the necessary detachment, resulting in dramatic outbursts.
The T-Square to Uranus
Now add to this inherent theme of every Full Moon in Aquarius, that the two Luminaries are simultaneously squared by the planet Uranus in Taurus, and see how the situation changes.
Sun in Leo square to Uranus in Taurus, and any attempt to limit our ego means an automatic reaction; we want things to go our way, and we become abrupt.
Moon in Aquarius square to Uranus in Taurus leads to emotional crises, anxiety, hypersensitivity, and reactivity, with intense boredom in emotions.
Add to this cocktail of aspects, which is already not the best for stability and security, Mercury retrograde which is in conjunction to the Sun, also receiving a square from Uranus and opposing the Moon!
Thoughts become quite selfish, causing emotional tension, making us wonder how we should proceed, causing confusion, trapping us, and creating stress!
Difficult times for relationships, as everything seems ready to explode at the slightest provocation…
…and what I described above was the first of the two difficult formations that this Full Moon has.”
The T-Square in Mutable Signs
The second aspect involves the T-Square formed in the Mutable Signs, as on the day of the Full Moon, Venus in Virgo is in opposition to Saturn in Pisces, and both planets are squared by the conjunction of Mars and Jupiter in Gemini.
Four planets are positioned at 17° to 19° in Gemini, Virgo, and Pisces, stressing relationships to the limit, as they create significant blockages in the expression of our passion, eroticism, and sensuality, while simultaneously increasing difficulties in existing relationships and reducing the chances for something new.
Jupiter and Mars in Gemini make communication sharp and quick, but are also in a square to Saturn. This can lead to immediate reactions and aggressive energy in our discussions and words. Therefore, caution is necessary in what we say, as I have already mentioned several times. Overanalyzing does not help, and the belief that we have options is not very realistic. The goal is to achieve a fair balance with the other person, not to examine our “alternative” choices.
Saturn and Jupiter represent Karma and Morality and demand Justified choices!!
Saturn in Pisces tries to realistically assess whether the romantic dream can become a reality, and in its square to Mars and Jupiter in Gemini, it may bring disappointments and redefinitions, prompting discussions about boundaries, commitments, and the emotional burdens we carry within our relationships.
The opposition of Saturn to Venus adds further difficulty to the entire scenario, as Venus in Virgo’s intensely critical and judgmental gaze brings heightened expectations and a tendency to obsess over details, characteristics that can provoke feelings of inadequacy or dissatisfaction in one of the two partners.
(For those who are single, this aspect brings a lack of desire in romantic matters and a preference to remain alone).
Finally, the square of Venus to Mars and Jupiter in Gemini indicates that passion, feelings of love, and romantic energy in the relationship remain alive and can awaken again, provided that communication is corrected and daily life changes.
(For those who are single, the aspects indicate intense flirting and opportunities for something to happen, which, however, may not meet your standards and expectations).
All of the above occur SIMULTANEOUSLY AND in CONFLICT with each other as our energies shift from one sign to another…
The Asteroids Vesta and Ceres
The first cherry on top of the above cocktail is that the asteroid Vesta is also at 27° of Leo, in conjunction to the Sun and squared by Uranus. Vesta represents our devotion, our commitment, where we feel at home, and with whom. Its conjunction with the Sun indicates how important self-expression and joy are for feeling at home with our other half.
However, the square from Uranus suggests that this commitment, this beloved devotion, may be tested, questioned by the other person, thereby disrupting the security and stability of the relationship itself.
In other words, SEPARATIONS!! (27 fixed signs, beware!)
The second cherry on top, the asteroid Ceres in Capricorn, is precisely square to the Lunar Nodes on the Aries-Libra axis. Thus, the care and emotional support that each provides to the other, bringing connection to relationships, is at a karmic and pivotal point. Issues of who bears “responsibility” (Capricorn) can become battlegrounds that ultimately disrupt the couple’s balance.
Significant, Critical, Intense & Provocative Full Moon
The Full Moon in Aquarius on August 19, 2024, is a powerful astrological event filled with challenges and tensions.
It is critical and Karmic.
With significant aspects, difficult formations, Mercury retrograde, and the involvement of Vesta and Ceres, it brings both concerns and separating events in relationships.
The tensions and challenges that will arise are likely inevitable…
