This particular eclipse is especially important for those who belong to the Signs of the Fixed Cross (Leo, Scorpio, Aquarius, and Taurus) and who are born between July 23 – 25, October 23 – 25, January 20 – 22 and April 20 – 22. Also to those having personal planets or their Ascendant near the 00° – 02° degrees of these Signs.
The eclipse will also affect Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn Signs that are born near the last two days, as well as those having personal planets or their Ascendant near the 28° – 29° degrees of the Cardinal Cross.

Coming Full Circle
The Total Lunar Eclipse on January 21, 2019 brings down the curtain of the eclipses on the Leo – Aquarius axis.
It takes place at 0° 51′ degrees of Leo and completes a long series of eclipses happening on the above axis. Eclipses, that since February 2017, and combined with planet Uranus entering in the Sign of Taurus, have signaled significant, difficult or in some cases even painful changes for several of the Signs of the Fixed Cross.
This blood moon eclipse that once again activates the first degrees of the Fixed Signs, something that last summer has created tensions with:
- Either sudden break-ups,
- Or considerations to ending our relationship, that eventually were dismissed in an attempt to renew it, despite the emotional suffocation,
- Or separations that seemed to be definitive.
All of the above are also true for partnerships and professional or other close personal relationships.
Now the circle closes and this eclipse marks for the Signs of the Fixed Cross, and even more for those in the degrees I mention in the introduction, definitive outcomes, since any turns and changes will have been completed by mid-April at the latest.
The Theme of the Eclipse – Individual Level
This eclipse follows the Solar Eclipse in Capricorn that took place two weeks ago, and as such it represents our emotional climax and response to the awareness that then started, and to the demands that are now beginning to appear.
With the Sun in the Sign of Aquarius and the Moon in the Sign of Leo, the eclipse brings to the fore situations that on the personal level relate to ourselves being part of a wider whole on one hand, and to our need for self-expression on the other.
With the Moon being close to the North Node in the Leo Sign, this eclipse invites us to leave behind detached or intellectual behaviors, that do not help us in important relationships and partnerships, and urges us to function by showing more passion and more emotion.
It is an eclipse that invites us to harmonize and work with others, but that also gives us the necessary space for creation.
Persons, relationships, and situations that do not help our self-expression will be left behind so that we can move forward with those who accept our healthy expression of who we are and who also give us their acceptance and their love.
This will of course not be easy.
In the archetypal conflict expressed by the position of the Sun in Aquarius and the Moon in Leo, the astrological factor added is the planet Uranus that makes a square aspect with the two Lights.
It is an eclipse that brings electrifying tension.
“Feelings have a bad knack. They burst suddenly. When you least expect it.”
This phrase from the theatrical play “Uncle Vanya”, of the great Russian playwright, describes in the best way the energy of this very strong eclipse.
That is exactly how the situations will be finalized. That is how space will be made for us to go forward.
With sudden outbursts of emotions or reactions.
This is how we’ll be lead to definitive separations or, in some cases, to definitive reunions.
In so sudden a way we will become aware of who we are, who we are together with, and how we will move forward.
But the chart of the eclipse is not only tension.
It has the wonderful conjunction of Venus with Jupiter which finds both planets together in a trine aspect to Mars. An aspect of popularity that brings new acquaintances, love opportunities and favors action towards new collaborations.
This conjunction also forms a square aspect to Neptune, so our attention is needed, as we are permanently done with the past, to properly evaluate the new, and not make the mistake of having unrealistic expectations or coloring it with pink glasses.
So, on a personal level, this difficult eclipse may initially bring uncertainty and insecurity, but let us remember that with self-control, adaptability and acceptance of change, we will be able to manage the new situations and exploit the opportunities it will create for us.
Eclipse Type: Total Lunar Eclipse
Eclipse Saros: 134
