Jeff Bezos and MacKenzie Bezos are divorcing after 25 years of marriage. What are the eclipses having to do with that?

 

Jeff the brilliant corporate titan of Amazon, one of the most successful entrepreneurs of our age, has a strong earth element in his chart, with his Sun placed at 21°36’ of Cap.

The couple has been strongly affected in the past 18 months by Pluto’s transit.

MacKenzie felt it first, during August and late November 2017 when it squared her Sun at 17° 34’ Aries, and Jeff has the planet approaching to conjunct his Sun, right now in less than 1° orb.

Pluto urged both into relentless transformation but it is the Eclipses in the Capricorn – Cancer axis

that give the final blow.

The July 13 2018 Solar Eclipse fell opposite of Jeff Bezos’ Sun, while last week’s Eclipse at 15°25’ Capricorn was square MacKenzie’s Sun.

Today January the 10th, one day after the announcement, Mars is squaring MacKenzie’s Natal Uranus.

SOLAR ECLIPSE IN CANCER – JULY 2018

This summer is marked by three eclipses and many planets being retrograde during the eclipse season. The combination of these astrological factors is something that is relatively rare and it shapes an unpredictable, dynamic and hot landscape.

This particular eclipse is especially important for those who belong to the Signs of the Cardinal Cross (Cancer and Capricorn mainly, as well as Aries, and Libra) and who are born between April 8 – 12, July 11 – 15, October 11 – 15 and January 8 – 12.  Also to those having personal planets or their Ascendant near the 18° – 22° degrees of these Signs.

Long Hot Summer – Part One

The Solar Eclipse of July 13th is the first of the three eclipses of this summer’s eclipse season. It occurs in the Sign of Cancer, and is followed by a Lunar Eclipse in Aquarius and yet one Solar Eclipse in Leo.

In a sense, it is a first taste of events that will manifest. Events whose impact we will intensely experience, and surely, events that will concern us for the whole duration of the summer, if not for much longer.

An example that easily demonstrates the secular influence that this Solar Eclipse in Cancer might have, not alone, but combined and operating as a triad with the other two that follow it, is:

 

Issues that relate to homeland (Cancer), cause reactions and peaked collective and political expression (Aquarius), that in its turn, triggers rapid developments regarding leadership figures (Leo).

This eclipse is also the first of a series of eclipses that will continue to occur in the Cancer – Capricorn axis, following on for the next two years, up until the summer of 2020 when their cycle will be completed.

The Solar Eclipse of 13th of July takes place in Cancer and so it has to do with family, maternity, home. It has to do with the feeling of warmth and security.

It happens just one day after Jupiter has turned again direct, at a point when we have just concluded an introspective cycle regarding issues of faith and morality.

The events of this eclipse may exactly unsettle this newly formed moral attitude.

 

A difficult landscape gradually shapes 

This Solar Eclipse is unfortunately characterized by a very difficult aspect, since the two Lights are forming an opposition to Pluto in Capricorn. A sharp opposition aspect that is only 40’ minutes away from being exact and so it has strength.

Pluto is already retrograde and the excavation of our soul has already begun. Pluto’s retrograde period is usually felt as a psychological process that seeks regeneration, purification and survival.

Taboo issues, embarrassing or repressed urges, oppressed sexual desires, may have come to the surface as a result of this process.

As a result, Pluto in opposition to the eclipse, may cause violent emotional outbursts, behaviors that have a strong element of manipulation, oppression which we are receiving from others or that we, because of our strong will and our mental strength, are causing to others.

Some examples of how this important eclipse aspect could affect us, always depending on the areas of our personal horoscope where it falls, are:

  • Passions and egoism that we cannot avoid, affect relationships and partnerships in a negative way.
  • Strong emotional stress from issues that relate to our mother (health or other).
  • Strong envy and effort for control of the relationship from the person we are with, or the complete contrary, jealousy and effort to enforce ourselves is expressed by us towards the other person.
  • Conflicts with persons in power and unexpected developments in the workplace prevent our much desired advancement and as a consequence create pressure within the family.
  • Consuming passion causes emotional and existential pressure on our family life.
  • Power games appear in our relationship as a result of our need for recognition.
  • Loss of a loved one.

SOLAR ECLIPSE IN CANCER JULY 2018

 

In addition to the Pluto aspect, another element that causes increased tension, is the planet Mars that is retrograde in Aquarius and towards a conjunction to the South Node.

The tension is internal and stems from the strong desire to defend our personal concept of independence. Anger or aggression boils within. It is a tension that can break out suddenly.

Here it is helpful to have in mind that Mars is conjunct the South Node in Aquarius. This conjunction means that if there is something that keeps us back, not allowing evolution, then this is a misunderstood concept about freedom and individuality.

If our actions aim only at an unnecessary rebellion just for the sake of it (South Node to Aquarius), then any outburst will be in vain.

Instead, what we are called to do, is our actions to be characterized by a mature understanding of what independence means. Although it is freedom of action, it has nevertheless to be accompanied by responsibility and creative leadership (North Node in Leo).

 

This is a difficult eclipse, like the subsequent ones within this long, hot summer.

The Eclipse booms, and occurs in an environment of four planets being retrograde (Mars, Saturn, Neptune, Pluto).

What can help us in this dry landscape that we see shaping in front of us?

Where can we find shade as we trudge under the hot sun and where can we cool with some water?

 

In order of duration and importance, the astrological aspects that may help are:

The trine between Venus and Uranus (July 8 – July 16)

A beautiful trine, lasting almost for a week, from July 8th to July 16th, and which allows a degree of freedom in our relationships, especially in matters that concern practical issues and issues of material security.

We leave space to the other person, we enjoy opportunities for being more social and, above all, we are open to mind-sets different from our aesthetics and from what we usually like.

 

The trine between Venus and Saturn (July 10 – July 19)

This is an aspect that gives the necessary maturity and patience in relationships.

We have realistic goals for economic and emotional issues.

Collaborations and relationships are prestigious and serious, as we both set common goals (Capricorn), and we are predisposed to serve our common ground, sparing minor details and meaningless criticism. (Virgin)

 

The trine between Saturn and Uranus (It lasts all summer)

This is the most helpful of all the aspects, since it allows us to manage the changes and the sudden events that can result from the eclipse, in a responsible manner.

It gives a relative stability within the changing landscape, PROVIDED that we take good advantage of Saturn’s retrograde movement and we do the necessary self-criticism so as to understand:

A Full Moon occurs on the 28th of June at the Sign of Capricorn.

This is the last full moon before the eclipses period that starts on the 13th of July when the new moon will be a Solar Eclipse. After this first eclipse two more will follow, one Lunar and again one Solar, making us trudge through A Long Hot Summer.

The upcoming eclipses period is presenting many astrological challenges and gradually reaches a climax in rising tension.

In a sense, ironical, paradoxical or cosmic, the Full Moon in Capricorn, that happens right before the eclipses period, can be seen as an alert, as a last call to discipline and mature expression of the self, qualities that are required so as we better navigate through the demanding eclipses’ landscape.

Macbeth, Act 2, Scene 1

There is a famous line in Shakespeare as Macbeth, firmly resolved and on his way to kill King Duncan, hears the sound of the castle bell in the night and says as if speaking to his victim:

“I go, and it is done. The bell invites me.

Hear it not, Duncan, for it is a knell, which summons thee to heaven or to hell”.

The June 2018 Full Moon in Capricorn is having the same sombre and serious mood as the bell that Macbeth hears. The bell knells and depending on our reactions our path will be more or less difficult.

Every Full Moon in Capricorn brings a culmination on issues relating to the two Signs where the Sun and the Moon are placed.

Sun in Cancer is the provider of nutrition, is caring, and wants to attend to one’s emotions. We are tender and soft.

Moon in Capricorn needs acknowledgement through accomplishments. Emotions, with Moon in Capricorn, are kept reserved, since the practicalities necessary for the achievement of a goal, are more important to unnecessary and humdrum  sentimental drama.

This archetypal conflict can be felt in various aspects of our everyday lives. Professional advancement versus time with the family, emotional tenderness versus coldness and alienation in relationships, worldly status versus inner comfort.

With this specific Full Moon in Capricorn there is an additional weight that fells on the Moon.

  • One path leads to emotional pressure and disappointments out of our inability to cope with professional or relationship demands. It brings emotional detachment, coldness and unexpressed emotions. It is ambition for success irresponsible to others needs. – This path is the dark night of the soul.
  • The other path leads to integrity and maturity. It requires patience and hard work, especially relating to how we respond to the emotional needs of beloved others. It is building protection boundaries for ourselves and the family and caring for others first. – This path is ambition supported by meaningful relationships.

Is it easy to move along the second path?

Saturn is retrograde. We can use its introspective affect to better set our boundaries against external pressures. Or to understand where we need to relax and let go with the flow of things instead of trying to organize and control everything.

The Moon is making a trine with Uranus and this can give us the necessary excitement to deflect gloominess. Anything new or unusual is welcomed.

More importantly Saturn, the main player in this “Preamble” of the eclipses’ long hot summer, is also in a trine aspect to Uranus.

This means that we can manage sudden or unexpected events and conduct the necessary changes so as to smoothly integrate them to existing our structures.

So, the answer to the question posed is: It may not be easy, but it can be done!

 

Under this Full Moon in Capricorn we must hear our inner bell and become wise.

It is a test, a preparatory arena for building character and patience so as we can safely move onward through the eclipses period.

 

This Full Moon in Capricorn is a call for calculated decisions and disciplined emotions.

This may bring an initial gloominess, but out of the test, something positive will surely come.

GEMINI NEW MOON – 13 JUNE 2018: The Message is Crystal Clear

The New Moon takes place in 22°and 44’ of the intellectual Sign of Gemini. It strongly affects Gemini and Sagittarius Signs and also Virgo and Pisces Signs which are born in the third decan, as well as those having personal planets, points or their Ascendant, near the 20° -24° degrees of the Mutable Cross.

A rather quiet and at the same time eloquent New Moon takes places on the night of the 13th of June. This ambivalent state of affairs that this New Moon is having, quite fitting to the Gemini Sign (!), is the result of two things.

Let me explain.

This New Moon in Gemini is happening as the Sun and the Moon are meeting at 22 degrees of the Sign and again start another synodic cycle. The Sun in astrology symbolizes our very existence, our consciousness, our self – expression. The Moon is symbolic of our feelings, our psyche, our intuition and the subconscious.

Gemini is a Sign that makes information known, it communicates. Rather fitting it does something more than communicating. Gemini exchanges.

Verbal, mental, written, digital or physical bits of information are given and others are received and Gemini through this process, as a mutual Sign, reaches out towards others and understands them and itself.

Within this mode of information processing, the Sun, our very existence, is aware of the facts and the pros and cons of the situation. Our need, with the Moon in Gemini, is to express ourselves and our feelings and this is the proper time to do it since we have realized both facts and needs.

Every New Moon is such a realization and when the New Moon happens in the Sign of Gemini this realization becomes a message.

 

This New Moon is the process of conceiving of an idea,

of thoughts formed, of opinions shared.

So we may have to be a little cautious so as to shape our message free of any misconceptions or idealizations. We have to ponder on any new ideas with our heart free of muddled feelings and with our sense of purpose firm and not swayed.

But apart from this separating aspect, this New Moon is clear of other interventions.

This lack of other aspects is very important, because the message that this New Moon is having for every one of us, is not colored by any other planet.

This New Moon becomes a crystal clear message. 

 

A message within, that we clearly hear, understand in an intuitive way and then clearly articulate.  

A message that is the solely result of the coming together of our intellect (Sun in Gemini) with our spoken heart (Moon in Gemini).

 

A message free of other interferences.

This intuitive character of the process of both forming the message and of communicating it, is the result of yet another astrological factor.

The ruler of the New Moon in Gemini is planet Mercury, placed at 2° of Cancer.

Through its place in this sensitive and intuitive water Sign, Mercury operates with emotional intelligence and with increased care in what and how something is conveyed.

Mercury in Cancer brings heightened emotional context to our message while at the same time infuses it with sensitivity.

Words are chosen carefully, the speech is soft,

we do care and we also take care what we are saying and how we express our opinions.

Mercury is also in a sextile aspect to Uranus in Taurus, an aspect that bestows freshness and ingenuity to all intellectual processes and brings practical insights.
