SOLAR ECLIPSE IN CAPRICORN – DECEMBER 2019: The Unwrapping of the Gift

Sharing is caring:

SOLAR ECLIPSE IN CAPRICORN - DECEMBER 2019

The Total Solar Eclipse in Capricorn is especially important for those who belong to the Signs of the Cardinal Cross (Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn), and especially those who are born between March 23 – 27, June 24 – 28, September 26 – 30, and December 24 – 28. Also to those having personal planets or their Ascendant near the 02° – 06° degrees of these Signs.

A total solar eclipse, takes place on the 25th or 26th of December, depending on where on the globe you will be on Christmas night.

This is not only the last eclipse of the year but also the last eclipse of the decade. An eclipse that I call “The Gift Unwrapping for the Upcoming Year 2020”.

Fittingly with the Christmas and festive spirit of the holidays season, it is an eclipse that brings Jupiterian gifts and surprised smiles to many. But please keep in mind, that the fact that something is wrapped in a glossy or luxury paper, does not necessarily mean that when we open the package, the gift revealed is always liked, well – suited, or really needed. Some presents may be, some others… are not.

This eclipse belongs to a series of eclipses on the Cancer – Capricorn axis. The series began with the Solar Eclipse in Cancer, on July 13th 2018, continued throughout 2019, and concludes in the summer of 2020.

This cycle of eclipses in the Cancer – Capricorn axis coincides with the gradual approach of Saturn towards Pluto and their conjunction in the Sign of Capricorn on the 12th of January 2020.

It is a cycle which for the past 18 months has already brought, and for the most part of the next year will continue to bring, significant changes and events to Capricorn, Cancer, Libra and Aries Signs, since the effect of the eclipses combined with the conjunction of the two planets is stronger for them.

Let us remember though, that eclipses are important Astrological events and affect all of us without exception, some less and some more, and depending on the aspects they make on our personal natal chart.

The Solar Eclipse in Capricorn occurs at 04° 06’ of the Sign, and it has an exuberant, positive and accomplishing energy.

The Sun and the Moon are in a tight conjunction with Jupiter. This is the joy of the unwrapping of the gift. We smile and we feel good. We are optimistic, we have enthusiasm, the hopes are high. Ready to conquer the world as we unwrap the package.

There is excitement in the eyes of the small girl as she is holding the gift in her hands, standing by the Christmas tree.

All this positive energy is manifested from within the practical and earthy Sign of Capricorn, and that is why this eclipse has the potential to bring luck and success in matters that have to do with professional accomplishments. It is an eclipse that can boost our small business or to present opportunities for career advancement.

There is a Stellium in Capricorn.

Pluto, Saturn, Jupiter, the South Node, and the two Lights, all are in the Sign of Capricorn.

It is like the meeting of the executive board of the big company. Pluto is the representative of the main share-holders. He has the most influencing power. Saturn is the executive officer, the person with the responsibility for results. The South Node is the know – how of the company and the reliability its products have. Jupiter is the high spirits on the table, since the results of the year are very good and can support the company’s strategy and the goals for the New Year. The eclipse is the timing and the formulation of these goals.

Yes. This eclipse has a pivotal role for our future and advancement. It places an important seed. It is also an eclipse that happens just four days after the Winter Solstice, and it is in a sense linked with the energy of the solstice chart that describes the unfolding of events for the next three months.

SOLAR ECLIPSE IN CAPRICORN - DECEMBER 2019

The powerful Mars

Another aspect in the eclipse chart, is the sextile between Mars in Scorpio and the Saturn – Pluto conjunction. Mars in Scorpio is extremely strategic and the sextiles with the conjunction represent tremendous opportunities for empowerment.

In business words:

  • decision making can be acute,
  • perception is heightened
  • and strategy is aligned with the goals.

In simple words… this eclipse supports very positively the setting of new goals and the taking of decisions.

The surprise element

There is excitement in the energy of this eclipse.

The Sun and the Moon are trine to the planet Uranus. This eclipse will bring awakenings that will be of crucial importance to new beginnings and new endeavors. It will bring surprises also.

Jupiter is also trine to the Planet Uranus. This is a separating aspect that culminated nearly two weeks before the eclipse. This aspect brings luck, favors expansion and allows for positive change.

Can you now see the excitement in the eyes of the girl by the Christmas tree?

There is also a Venus square Uranus aspect in the chart of the eclipse that mainly affects those that have personal planets or angles between 6° and 8° degrees of the Fixed Signs. This is an aspect of squandering.

Outflow of money.

So… the executive board meeting has to be more realistic with projecting the figures for 2020 because future plans may cost more than anticipated.

Those of us that are near the above degrees, we have to be cautious with our finances for the next 3 months.

While this eclipse will give an immediate boost in the financial markets, gains will be short-termed, so be aware of investments.

Be prudent and do not take risks. Invest on new plans but keep some money aside.

Do not waste love, also. It’s the most valuable currency.

The opening of the gift – What is inside?

Eclipses do not work alone. They work in pairs. This particular total Solar Eclipse is linked to the Lunar Eclipse that takes place on the 10th of January 2020.

That is why this eclipse is like the gift unwrapping and the next one is the actual opening of the box that contains the “presents” of 2020.

This is why, as we shall begin to feel the energy of this eclipse, we shall expect positive things and we shall feel optimistic. Yes, this is a very positive eclipse but there is a small catch that we have to be aware of.

As we open the tall box of the gift, what is inside might be what we wanted! Ski boards of the most expensive brand… The gift is perfect.

But we have to be cautious as we slide with these swift new boards that we haven’t yet mastered, because we do not want to fall and break a leg.

Or what if in the following months we get a promotion and move to the south and sunny?  The boards will be put to the closet.

What I am saying, is that the Jupiterian influence has to be moderated. Do not take high risks because the following 6 months, and the next eclipses are more difficult. 2020 has many surprises, some of them good and some of them difficult.

Epilogue

This is a positive eclipse, that helps many of us with our plans and professional advancement. It works favorably for career, for general recognition and for accomplishing new things that are planted now.

All these will not come easily and will not come free. From within Capricorn all Jupiterian favor goes hand in hand with hard work, ethics and responsibility.

Be optimistic, start new things, take decisive actions, make these changes you have in mind and set goals. But be cautious and be prudent.

I wish everyone to enjoy the benefits of this eclipse.

Have a Merry Christmas and most importantly have a positive, rewarding and evolving New Year, 2020!

LUNAR ECLIPSE – 16 JULY 2019: Under the spiraling gyre – Part II

Sharing is caring:

LUNAR ECLIPSE IN CAPRICORN - 16 JULY 2019

This particular eclipse is especially important for those who belong to the Signs of the Cardinal Cross (Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn), and who are born between July 15 – July 19, October 16 – October 20, January 12 – January 16, and April 12 – April 16.

Also to those having personal planets or their Ascendant near the 22° – 26° degrees of these Signs.

We are now deep into the eclipse season.

This is a period of significance.

I am warning you. I am going to be straightforward. I am going to be poetic. I am not going to caress your ears.

The Theme of the Eclipse – Individual Level

The partial Lunar Eclipse of July the 16th takes place at 24°04′ of the Sign of Capricorn.

It follows the Solar Eclipse in Cancer that took place two weeks ago, and as such it represents our emotional climax and response to issues that then started. It is the emotional reaction to the demands that are now beginning to appear.

And the emotional response seems to be quite, not to say extremely, heavy.

Pluto is conjunct the Moon in this eclipse. The Moon is in Capricorn, something that already makes her pragmatic and strict. Utilitarian and craving respect under the Pluto influence becomes obsessive or possessive, jealous or conspiring.

Emotions are at a peak. This is a Full Moon. This is an Eclipse. A Full Moon that is shadowed temporarily, eclipsed, loosing its tenderness and warmth, as the light from the Sun in Cancer that in a sense was giving her, is now blocked.

This will affect relations. Or this may be the start of an on-going emotional eclipse that will culminate in January 2020 with its end results in the summer of 2020.

LUNAR ECLIPSE IN CAPRICORN - 16 JULY 2019Moon is conjunct Saturn also. On top to the deep psychological examination that the conjunction with Pluto brings, heavy lies the burden of responsibilities. Work versus family life. Sadness.

On the other side of the chart Venus is conjunct the Sun and opposite Saturn.

This Venus – Saturn opposition reinforces the theme of detachment in our relationships but does not yet herald the split or the breaking up. It is the recognition of the stagnation, of the boundaries in affection and love. The difficulty to reach out.

Financial problems may also befall those hit close by this eclipse. While money cannot be made out of thin air, the emotional shortage can at least be prevented.

Get out of the Moon – Pluto – Saturn zone and reach on the other side of the chart to the Sun conjunct Venus. There is help there.

Reflect as Mercury retrogrades from Leo into Cancer:

  • Is this pressure that causes emotional and existential stress on my family life worth?
  • Do I need the professional spotlight? Do I need to crave attention? (Mercury Rx in Leo)?

or

  • is it better if I focus on what it is that the other person needs?
  • Be gentle, be kind, be attentive to the needs of the important ones in your life.
  • As the power games appear, turn to your sweeter side.
  • You may have less money but you become rich by displaying affection.
  • Be intuitively present for the others and do it politely and with no expectations.
  • Use the positive expression from the Sun conjunct Venus in Cancer.

Look to the easing of the opposition.

Neptune is sextile Saturn and trine to Venus and the North Node of the eclipse chart.

Neptune is selfless wholeness.

Its sextile to Saturn is constructive belief and grounded faith. Its trine to Venus is devotion and devout.

This devout feeling or the very faith in the value of yourself, gives the needed rebirth (Pluto) to the emotions (Moon). Ii is a baptism in faith (Neptune).

This is a DIFFICULT eclipse. Use Astrology. Use the eclipse’s chart for your emotional benefit. (Pluto conjunct Moon in Capricorn – in its positive expression).

This eclipse is monumental in the way it reshapes our emotional centre in the areas it affects in the chart.

Will the centre hold?

“Be full with passionate intensity and don’t lack conviction” in this spiraling gyre of the eclipses and the synodic cycles, as the great poet W.B. Yeats would have said.

I warned you I would be poetic…haven’t I?

The eclipse effect for the Signs

(applies for rising sign also or natal placements of personal planets near the degree of the eclipse)

The eclipse is difficult highlighting issues relative to the houses and the planets it falls on in the natal chart, for Aries, Cancer, Libra Signs, especially those mentioned in the start of the article.

It is empowerment through increased pressure and responsibilities for Capricorn Signs, especially those mentioned in the start of the article. because they tend to respond better to the Saturnine Energy, even if it’s oppressive.

It is a revisiting of the past or the past re – appearing in the form of persons or situations mostly for Leo and Scorpios and to a lesser extent for Aquarius.

It mostly works neutral to positive for Taurus, Virgos, Pisces, Gemini and Sagittarius Signs.

The Lunar Eclipse will be fully visible from nearly all countries in the world, with the exception of United States, Canada and North-Eastern Russia.

Continue on here to see how this eclipse will affect us on a mundane level.

We are now deep into the eclipse season.

This is a period of significance.

I am warning you. I am going to be blunt, I am going to be straightforward. I am going to reference the symbolism of poetry. I am to give you a snapshot of the eclipse(s) that is (are) coming.

It is not the end of the world. Never will it be.

The Lunar Eclipse in Capricorn on July the 16th is not the most difficult eclipse. On the contrary, it has some aspects that are good and it may work very positive on an individual level for some of the Signs.  – Read Part II

But though not the most difficult, it is nevertheless a VERY DIFFICULT eclipse.

It marks the first taste of the Saturn – Plutonic pressure that is going to resonate during the first half of 2020 as we approach the Saturn – Pluto conjunction.

The eclipse at a mundane level

In the mundane expression of this eclipse now begins the lifting of the heavy burden and the upcoming overturn. Now is the upsetting.

There is a cosmic relation between this lunar eclipse and the lunar eclipse that is coming on January the 10th of 2020. Two days before the conjunction of the heavy artillery of planet Saturn and planet Pluto on 22°46’ of Capricorn.

This one takes place at 24°04 of Capricorn while the January one takes place on 20° precisely.

Do you get the picture?

The conjunction is at 22°, and the two eclipses are, the first one two degrees ahead, and the latter, two degrees before.

22° is sandwiched between the two eclipses with heavy metal music playing on the 20° and 24°.

“Emphasized 22° degree, so what?”, one may ask.

But it is not this only…

There is also an emphasis on the 20th degree, relating to last July’s eclipse on the 13th of the month that took place on 20°41’ of Cancer and…

…and Mercury, that is retrograde during this eclipse, will station direct exactly on 24° of Cancer also. (23°56’ to be precise).

This is not only a cosmic “sandwich” upon the 22° degrees of the Cardinal Signs but also a heavy bombardment of energy both on 20° and 24°degrees, starting with this eclipse and ending on January 2020.

On a mundane level we are now entering a period where the traditional structures and the global power dynamics are shifting irrevocably.

LUNAR ECLIPSE IN CAPRICORN - 16 JULY 2019

The Cancer – Capricorn nodal axis of the eclipses and the Saturn – Pluto conjunction, redefine and reshape the extent to which less powered nations will accept the pressure of globalization and corporations.

Boundaries will reshape. Nationalism versus Globalism. Distribution of power will be challenged. Development will be framed because unchecked, it is consuming the planet.

To nurture and care (Cancer) for the many will become a paramount request. People over profits, (Pluto in Capricorn).

How power is exerted (Capricorn) in relation to issues of homeland, nationality and tradition (Cancer) becomes important.

These are the warring elements at the end of the Saturn – Pluto synodic cycle. This is how the world chess game will play out with all the pressure on the central 22° degree.

Will the centre hold?

“The center cannot hold” as the great poet W.B. Yeats would have said, under this spiraling gyre of the eclipses and the synodic cycles.

I warned you I would be symbolic, haven’t I?

The Lunar Eclipse will be fully visible from nearly all countries in the world, with the exception of United States, Canada and North-Eastern Russia.

Continue on here to see how this eclipse will affect you on an individual level.

THE BEZOS COUPLE DIVORCE ASTROLOGY

Sharing is caring:

Jeff Bezos and MacKenzie Bezos are divorcing after 25 years of marriage. What are the eclipses having to do with that?

Jeff the brilliant corporate titan of Amazon, one of the most successful entrepreneurs of our age, has a strong earth element in his chart, with his Sun placed at 21°36’ of Cap.

The couple has been strongly affected in the past 18 months by Pluto’s transit.

MacKenzie felt it first, during August and late November 2017 when it squared her Sun at 17° 34’ Aries, and Jeff has the planet approaching to conjunct his Sun, right now in less than 1° orb.

Pluto urged both into relentless transformation but it is the Eclipses in the Capricorn – Cancer axis

that give the final blow.

The July 13 2018 Solar Eclipse fell opposite of Jeff Bezos’ Sun, while last week’s Eclipse at 15°25’ Capricorn was square MacKenzie’s Sun.

Today January the 10th, one day after the announcement, Mars is squaring MacKenzie’s Natal Uranus.

What we are witnessing is a trailer of the building pressure and the decisive events that many of the Cardinal Signs will experience throughout 2019 and within the first half of 2020.

The partial Solar Eclipse on January the 5th or 6th, depending on your place in the globe, is the first of five in total, eclipses, three solar and two lunar, which will occur in 2019.

This eclipse is also part of the series of eclipses on the Cancer – Capricorn axis. These eclipses began with the Solar Eclipse in Cancer on July 13 2018, and shall continue throughout 2019, up until the summer of 2020, when they will be completed.

This cycle of eclipses in the Cancer – Capricorn axis coincides with the gradual approach of Saturn towards Pluto and their conjunction in Capricorn in January 2020, thus signaling a period of 18 months that will bring significant changes to Capricorn and Cancer Signs, and also to Aries and Libra Signs, since for them, the effect of the eclipses is stronger.

Remember though, that eclipses are strong Astrological events and affect us all, some less and some more, without exception, and depending on what aspects they make on our personal natal chart.

The solar eclipse of January the 5th / 6th takes place at 15 ° 25′ of the zodiac Sign of Capricorn and is a “multidimensional” and complex eclipse with a variety of expressions, at cosmic and individual level.

Cosmic Level – A photo of the next six months

Focus: Saturn and Pluto

The Sun-Moon conjunction in the Capricorn Sign gives at a cosmic level a semester marked by significant changes in matters of how power is managed and administered world-wide.

The two Lights are in conjunction to Saturn and Pluto and also lie on the midpoint of the two planets. Saturn and Pluto is a combination capable of enhancing the ambitions, goals, and the control that exert, various governmental, corporate, or other hierarchical structures.

Saturn also forms a sextile aspect to with Neptune, an aspect that helps such designs and power visions to be realized, and be at the same time accompanied by a series of necessary reality checks, before they are put into effect.

Background: Jupiter and Neptune

At the same time, however, on the chart of this eclipse, and throughout the year, the square of Jupiter and Neptune is an aspect that undermines these plans, since it speaks of a social disappointment that will be diffused.

A disappointment that stems from the fact that people’s common sense of just (Jupiter in Sagittarius), and a yet unspecified but full of dynamism (square aspect) social vision (Neptune in Pisces), are not represented within the corridors of power.

Jupiter – Neptune in a square of extreme idealism and disillusion, which combined with the great influence that the planet Uranus plays in the general planetary setting, may bring massive mobilizations.

Depth of Field: Uranus and the Moon’s Nodes

The planet Uranus began to form a square to the Moon’s Nodes during the summer eclipses, an aspect that came to a precision in November 2018, and which continues in this and the next eclipse, as also in every New Moon and Full Moon up until mid-March 2019.

The continuous square of Uranus with the Moon’s Nodes brings the energy of the planet into the heart of the events for the period that follows.

Uranus was also the last planet to go retrograde in the dance of the many retrograde planets of the previous summer, and its liberating and disrupting energy will once more start to express when it returns to a direct motion.

When does this happen?

But on January 6 2019, from 28 ° 36 Aries

the same day with the eclipse!

All the sparkling electricity, and revolutionary or subversive action, that lay hidden, now finds an outlet, and the fact that this begins in the same day as the Partial Solar Eclipse, shows us emphatically that at the cosmic level we will see protests and upoars in the coming months.

Click Flash – Mercury, Mars and Uranus

Mercury from 1 ° 21 ‘of Capricorn is at the same time in two aspects, a harmonic and a dynamic one, which give even more evidence of how the tension will be expressed.

Mercury in trine to Uranus brings to the power holders strategic thinking and technocratic control, (preserving prestige through control of knowledge, of science and of innovation).

On a square aspect to Mars (who is powerful in the sign of his rulership) brings controversy and juxtaposition of ideas. Angry voices and action that conflicts with what the technocratic power communicates and concedes.

We see how a militant scenario is formed, as the same planet, Mercury, simultaneously stirs strategic changes for the status quo on one hand, and gives voice to protesting and defending the independence of the individual, on the other.

Two other equally important astrological elements that point to the eruptive nature of this eclipse are, the fact that the eclipse is on the Mars/Uranus midpoint and that Mars, already at 3 ° 20’ of Aries, will activate the eclipse soon, on January the 23rd.

That is shortly after the accompanying Lunar Eclipse that will take place on the 21st of the month.

Individual level

Imagine, now that we have analysed the eclipse elements, how all this multidimensional dynamics hidden in the eclipse chart could be expressed in our personal horoscope, giving the tone for the events of the next half-year.

Depending on how the chart of eclipse falls on our personal horoscope and the positive or negative aspects that it forms, possible manifestations may be:

Request your Astrology Reading by Andrew Ifandis

  • Circumstances force us to reformulate our strategy and set goals for issues that have to do with our business or professional plans.
  • We accept more responsibilities, but we also operate with a sense of integrity in the are where the eclipse relates to our personal horoscope.
  • It becomes important to check and calm down reactions and boiling disagreements with close persons.
  • The need comes to speak with vigour and seriousness so as to clarify situations that create cloudy landscapes.
  • We are recognized for our efforts in the professional field and we strengthen our position in the hierarchy.
  • We feel kind of oppressed and a weight in our relationship and this triggers a complete recapitulation of the how and the why with the other person.
  • Issues that have to do with our father or with persons of status and authority bring troubles and difficulties.
  • We become restrained in our working environment and searching for the “ideal job” needs our attention as we are not having realistic ambitions.

Part of the January Solar Eclipse hides pressure and eruptiveness, but at the same time hides the possibilities of empowerment, development and strengthening.

However it plays out, its effect will be possibly felt within a short time, since it will be activated soon, right after the Lunar Eclipse that is to follow.

SATURN STATIONS DIRECT IN CAPRICORN – 6 SEPTEMBER 2018

SATURN STATIONS DIRECT IN CAPRICORN

Saturn stations direct in Capricorn on September the 6th 2018 after a long period of being retrograde since April 17th 2018. Saturn will remain direct for eight months, and in its direct motion that will last until the 30th of April 2019, it will transit the first two decans of the Sign of Capricorn.

Saturn is the planet of matter, reality, boundaries and difficulties. It is the planet of patience and reward for our labors. It brings hardships but also bestows wisdom. It recycles the karmic time, bringing us again and again in front of persons or situations, until we do comprehend our lesson and mature.

During the period of Saturn’s retrograde motion, we may have been dealing with issues related to:

  • How do we set our limits towards others? Is it that we may not do it, and as a consequence it is us that we take on their responsibilities?
  • Are there persons who make us sad with their behavior precisely because we have not make them understand our boundaries and up to where certain things are allowed?
  • On the other hand, are we the ones who restrict and oppress others because we may be rigid in our views or very strict?
  • Is social and professional recognition so important that we are to be deprived of leisure and joy for their sake?
  • Why don’t we relax and let go in the flow of things instead of trying to organize and control everything?

The period where Saturn is retrograde is characteristic for its strong learning and evolutionary influence and part of this process is to also come to grips with our fears. Fear is often experienced as a paralyzed feeling that cancels our every choice and imprisons us emotionally. In reality, our fears are the psychological expression of the limitations we experience in our everyday life.

But if we think about it, these fears are the result of limitations and difficulties that we ourselves have placed upon us, precisely because in the past, we had not dared to set our limits and so other people and situations imposed their own on us, so now we only have few or no other choices at all.

This very awareness is redeeming and part of the inner process of re-defining boundaries and limits towards others, against situations and most importantly in ourselves.

With Saturn’s direct motion, all the previous considerations have been completed and a new period begins in which the above ferments are maturing within us, and we gradually start to practically apply what we have learned.

  • We reshape our boundaries towards others.
  • We become more confident about ourselves and our aspirations.
  • We face any difficulties with more rigor and with greater patience.
  • We achieve our goals by working more efficiently and in an organized manner.
  • We do not labor or strive and more importantly we do not oppress others if we have in the past.

At the karmic level, the Saturn Rx endoscopic process has accomplished its purpose and our “lesson” has been perceived.

Saturn’s direct motion through Capricorn, the sign of patience, work duty and responsibility brings truth and maturation allowing us to move forward for the next period, until April the 30th 2019, when Saturn will turn once more retrograde so us to repeat the lessons.

In the chart of his station, Saturn makes two harmonious trine aspects with Uranus in Taurus and Mercury in Virgo forming a Grand Earth Trine. Having absorbed the lessons of the retrograde motion, now it’s the time to:

  • Face our responsibilities (Saturn in Capricorn)
  • Allow for gradual change in our live with a responsible manner (Saturn trine Uranus)
  • Exploit the wisdom and the lessons learned during the retrograde period (Saturn trine Mercury)
  • Combine practical insight with disciplined ambition and make a desired career move (Saturn trine Uranus)
  • Understand where can better ourselves, through low toned patience and make this our new strategy (permanent thinking mode) for the next period. (Mercury in Virgo trine Saturn in Capricorn)

SOLAR ECLIPSE IN CANCER JULY 2018

SOLAR ECLIPSE IN CANCER – JULY 2018: Long Hot Summer – Part One

Sharing is caring:

SOLAR ECLIPSE IN CANCER – JULY 2018

This summer is marked by three eclipses and many planets being retrograde during the eclipse season. The combination of these astrological factors is something that is relatively rare and it shapes an unpredictable, dynamic and hot landscape.

This particular eclipse is especially important for those who belong to the Signs of the Cardinal Cross (Cancer and Capricorn mainly, as well as Aries, and Libra) and who are born between April 8 – 12, July 11 – 15, October 11 – 15 and January 8 – 12.  Also to those having personal planets or their Ascendant near the 18° – 22° degrees of these Signs.

PERSONAL ECLIPSE READING

Long Hot Summer – Part One

The Solar Eclipse of July 13th is the first of the three eclipses of this summer’s eclipse season. It occurs in the Sign of Cancer, and is followed by a Lunar Eclipse in Aquarius and yet one Solar Eclipse in Leo.

In a sense, it is a first taste of events that will manifest. Events whose impact we will intensely experience, and surely, events that will concern us for the whole duration of the summer, if not for much longer.

An example that easily demonstrates the secular influence that this Solar Eclipse in Cancer might have, not alone, but combined and operating as a triad with the other two that follow it, is:

Issues that relate to homeland (Cancer), cause reactions and peaked collective and political expression (Aquarius), that in its turn, triggers rapid developments regarding leadership figures (Leo).

Does this sound familiar? Is it relating to where you live?

This eclipse is also the first of a series of eclipses that will continue to occur in the Cancer – Capricorn axis, following on for the next two years, up until the summer of 2020 when their cycle will be completed.

The Solar Eclipse of 13th of July takes place in Cancer and so it has to do with family, maternity, home. It has to do with the feeling of warmth and security.

It happens just one day after Jupiter has turned again direct, at a point when we have just concluded an introspective cycle regarding issues of faith and morality.

The events of this eclipse may exactly unsettle this newly formed moral attitude.

A difficult landscape gradually shapes

This Solar Eclipse is unfortunately characterized by a very difficult aspect, since the two Lights are forming an opposition to Pluto in Capricorn. A sharp opposition aspect that is only 40’ minutes away from being exact and so it has strength.

Pluto is already retrograde and the excavation of our soul has already begun. Pluto’s retrograde period is usually felt as a psychological process that seeks regeneration, purification and survival.

Taboo issues, embarrassing or repressed urges, oppressed sexual desires, may have come to the surface as a result of this process.

As a result, Pluto in opposition to the eclipse, may cause violent emotional outbursts, behaviors that have a strong element of manipulation, oppression which we are receiving from others or that we, because of our strong will and our mental strength, are causing to others.

Some examples of how this important eclipse aspect could affect us, always depending on the areas of our personal horoscope where it falls, are:

  • Passions and egoism that we cannot avoid, affect relationships and partnerships in a negative way.
  • Strong emotional stress from issues that relate to our mother (health or other).
  • Strong envy and effort for control of the relationship from the person we are with, or the complete contrary, jealousy and effort to enforce ourselves is expressed by us towards the other person.
  • Conflicts with persons in power and unexpected developments in the workplace prevent our much desired advancement and as a consequence create pressure within the family.
  • Consuming passion causes emotional and existential pressure on our family life.
  • Power games appear in our relationship as a result of our need for recognition.
  • Loss of a loved one.

SOLAR ECLIPSE IN CANCER JULY 2018

In addition to the Pluto aspect, another element that causes increased tension, is the planet Mars that is retrograde in Aquarius and towards a conjunction to the South Node.

The tension is internal and stems from the strong desire to defend our personal concept of independence. Anger or aggression boils within. It is a tension that can break out suddenly.

Here it is helpful to have in mind that Mars is conjunct the South Node in Aquarius. This conjunction means that if there is something that keeps us back, not allowing evolution, then this is a misunderstood concept about freedom and individuality.

If our actions aim only at an unnecessary rebellion just for the sake of it (South Node to Aquarius), then any outburst will be in vain.

Instead, what we are called to do, is our actions to be characterized by a mature understanding of what independence means. Although it is freedom of action, it has nevertheless to be accompanied by responsibility and creative leadership (North Node in Leo).

This is a difficult eclipse, like the subsequent ones within this long, hot summer.

The Eclipse booms, and occurs in an environment of four planets being retrograde (Mars, Saturn, Neptune, Pluto).

What can help us in this dry landscape that we see shaping in front of us?

Where can we find shade as we trudge under the hot sun and where can we cool with some water?

In order of duration and importance, the astrological aspects that may help are:

The trine between Venus and Uranus (July 8 – July 16)

A beautiful trine, lasting almost for a week, from July 8th to July 16th, and which allows a degree of freedom in our relationships, especially in matters that concern practical issues and issues of material security.

We leave space to the other person, we enjoy opportunities for being more social and, above all, we are open to mind-sets different from our aesthetics and from what we usually like.

The trine between Venus and Saturn (July 10 – July 19)

This is an aspect that gives the necessary maturity and patience in relationships.

We have realistic goals for economic and emotional issues.

Collaborations and relationships are prestigious and serious, as we both set common goals (Capricorn), and we are predisposed to serve our common ground, sparing minor details and meaningless criticism. (Virgin)

The trine between Saturn and Uranus (It lasts all summer)

This is the most helpful of all the aspects, since it allows us to manage the changes and the sudden events that can result from the eclipse, in a responsible manner.

It gives a relative stability within the changing landscape, PROVIDED that we take good advantage of Saturn’s retrograde movement and we do the necessary self-criticism so as to understand:

  • If and where we are oppressive
  • Which are our limits, and
  • We begin to formulate an awareness of our responsibility.

So let’s arm ourselves with patience and endurance, because the summer is long and we have yet two difficult eclipses to go through.

Full Moon in Capricorn 2018

FULL MOON IN CAPRICORN – 28 JUNE 2018: Macbeth

Sharing is caring:

Full Moon in Capricorn 2018

The Full Moon takes place at 06°and 28’ of the Sign of Capricorn. It strongly affects Capricorn and Cancer Signs and also Aries and Libra Signs which are born in the first decan, as well as those having personal planets, points or their Ascendant, near the 04° -08° degrees of the Cardinal Cross.

A Full Moon occurs on the 28th of June at the Sign of Capricorn.

This is the last full moon before the eclipses period that starts on the 13th of July when the new moon will be a Solar Eclipse. After this first eclipse two more will follow, one Lunar and again one Solar, making us trudge through A Long Hot Summer.

The upcoming eclipses period is presenting many astrological challenges and gradually reaches a climax in rising tension.

In a sense, ironical, paradoxical or cosmic, the Full Moon in Capricorn, that happens right before the eclipses period, can be seen as an alert, as a last call to discipline and mature expression of the self, qualities that are required so as we better navigate through the demanding eclipses’ landscape.

Macbeth, Act 2, Scene 1

There is a famous line in Shakespeare as Macbeth, firmly resolved and on his way to kill King Duncan, hears the sound of the castle bell in the night and says as if speaking to his victim:

“I go, and it is done. The bell invites me.

Hear it not, Duncan, for it is a knell, which summons thee to heaven or to hell”.

The June 2018 Full Moon in Capricorn is having the same sombre and serious mood as the bell that Macbeth hears. The bell knells and depending on our reactions our path will be more or less difficult.

Full Moon in Capricorn 2018

Every Full Moon in Capricorn brings a culmination on issues relating to the two Signs where the Sun and the Moon are placed.

Sun in Cancer is the provider of nutrition, is caring, and wants to attend to one’s emotions. We are tender and soft.

Moon in Capricorn needs acknowledgement through accomplishments. Emotions, with Moon in Capricorn, are kept reserved, since the practicalities necessary for the achievement of a goal, are more important to unnecessary and humdrum  sentimental drama.

This archetypal conflict can be felt in various aspects of our everyday lives. Professional advancement versus time with the family, emotional tenderness versus coldness and alienation in relationships, worldly status versus inner comfort.

With this specific Full Moon in Capricorn there is an additional weight that fells on the Moon.

Saturn is making a tight conjunction with the Moon and at the same time is Moon’s dispositor planet. This double Saturnian influence on the Moon is the sombre bell that is heard.

Let’s hear carefully, because this Full Moon is taking us to one of two paths:

  • One path leads to emotional pressure and disappointments out of our inability to cope with professional or relationship demands. It brings emotional detachment, coldness and unexpressed emotions. It is ambition for success irresponsible to others needs. – This path is the dark night of the soul.
  • The other path leads to integrity and maturity. It requires patience and hard work, especially relating to how we respond to the emotional needs of beloved others. It is building protection boundaries for ourselves and the family and caring for others first. – This path is ambition supported by meaningful relationships.

Is it easy to move along the second path?

Saturn is retrograde. We can use its introspective affect to better set our boundaries against external pressures. Or to understand where we need to relax and let go with the flow of things instead of trying to organize and control everything.

The Moon is making a trine with Uranus and this can give us the necessary excitement to deflect gloominess. Anything new or unusual is welcomed.

More importantly Saturn, the main player in this “Preamble” of the eclipses’ long hot summer, is also in a trine aspect to Uranus.

This means that we can manage sudden or unexpected events and conduct the necessary changes so as to smoothly integrate them to existing our structures.

So, the answer to the question posed is: It may not be easy, but it can be done!

Under this Full Moon in Capricorn we must hear our inner bell and become wise.

It is a test, a preparatory arena for building character and patience so as we can safely move onward through the eclipses period.

This Full Moon in Capricorn is a call for calculated decisions and disciplined emotions.

This may bring an initial gloominess, but out of the test, something positive will surely come.

I wish to everyone a fulfilling Full Moon.

Capricorn New Moon

CAPRICORN NEW MOON – 17 JANUARY 2018: Prepare for climbing

Sharing is caring:

Capricorn New Moon

The New Moon takes place in 26°and 57’of the Sign of Capricorn. It affects the Cardinal Signs (Capricorn, Aries, Cancer and Libra) that are born towards the end of the third decan or those having personal planets or their Ascendant near the 25° -29° degrees of these Signs.

Each New Moon is a beginning, and the New Moon that takes place in Capricorn is the first for 2018.

It is a New Moon that marks in the most indicative way the beginning of a period in which emphasis will be placed exactly on what this earthly and cardinal Sign symbolizes.

Patience, Work, Achievements, Success, Status.

Whenever the New Moon takes place in the Sign of Capricorn, this is the best time to think about what we want to achieve. It invites us to set goals, to put things down in order and to begin actions and work.

This New Moon in particular is the energy of the Capricorn Sign amplified to its maximum. This happens because it occurs in one of the rare astrological cases where, besides the Sun and Moon, four more planets are also in Capricorn, participating in two sets of conjunct aspects.

Saturn and Mercury form the first conjunction on one side, Pluto is in between, and the triplet of Sun, Moon and Venus are together in another conjunction that takes place within the last degrees of the Sign.

All this gathering of planets in the sign of Capricorn, along with the fact that the ruler of the New Moon is Saturn that has returned to his Sign after 29 years, reinforces the materialistic and practical element of this lunation.

It is a New Moon that can be particularly conducive to us making serious beginnings, committing to resolutions and to implementing our professional and business plans, all favored within the next two weeks.

Capricorn New Moon

This New Moon is conjunct planet Venus in an aspect that favors socializing and partnerships. Especially favored are projects related to aesthetics, style and elegance. It is also an aspect that makes us value success, respect and money and working to achieve them.

There are also the positive sextile aspects that the Lights are making with Jupiter and Mars in Scorpio, because on the one hand they help our psychological drive by uncovering clearly our goals within us, while on the other hand they make us decisive in how we are going to realize them.

Mercury in conjunction with Saturn gives mature and strategic thinking, as long as our mind deals with organizational challenges and planning, but on the other hand it is an aspect that needs attention, because if we have not clarified our goals it can cause hesitation or even anxiety that will arise as a result of feeling inadequate due to a lack of pursuits.

We also need to pay particular attention to the square aspects that Uranus makes with the Sun, Moon and Venus. These are the most difficult aspects of the chart. Everything we want to achieve will take time, perseverance and patience but Uranus wants it now.

The New Moon period is the right time for our plans, but at the same time we feel the need these plans to go ahead and to move quickly. Impatience, a tendency to react spasmodically, or to act impulsively and without the necessary preparation may appear. If this is the case then we should restrict ourselves because otherwise our ventures will turn out completely the opposite from what we expected.

This is a New Moon that is indeed perfect to set the basis on which we will move forward, but in order to do this, we first:

  • must be aware of our responsibilities,
  • have to understand our limitations, so as
  • to set pragmatic goals, and then
  • to act with responsibility, schedule, patience and perseverance.

I wish to all of you a pleasant New Moon that will be the ideal start for your personal pursuits.

and embrace its promise for renewal.
