FULL MOON IN TAURUS – OCTOBER 31, 2020

The Full Moon Chaos Of The Unholy Night

By astrologer, Andrew Ifandis

A difficult Full Moon takes place in the sign of Taurus on October 31, 2020.

A Full Moon is a point of culmination. It usually marks a time when processes or events that have begun two weeks before with the New Moon are now reaching their climax.

This is why under the Full Moon we are usually charged with tension. Now either what started then is completed, or we clearly see what is lacking, what needs to be corrected, what is wrong. and we are called to re-adjust our actions or our attitude. Now we are called, in the light of the revelations brought by the Full Moon, to change our attitude, our actions or our own course.

With the full moon in Taurus on October 31st, the tension we feel arises from the contradiction between our need to be emotionally safe, in practical and simple terms, on the one hand …

… and from our strong desire to change and experience intense situations as we are attracted by the complex, or the dark, or the deep and rich emotional stimulation … on the other.

It is a tension that we ourselves cause, as we are attracted

by the dark call of the Night of Souls.

But the exact opposite may also be true.

Confusion and uncertainty come to the fore not because we ourselves want to undermine the security and confidence we already have, but because the circumstances are truly subversive and transformative, in a pivotal and cathartic 2020, where everything that is happening is stirs feelings of reaction and insecurity.

Insecurity from the impending change that we feel is approaching.

So, our need for security is great. We need to hold fast to something dear, something that gives us the pretext of the security we so desperately need, and so we try to resist the shocks of change.

The intensity of this Full Moon is greatly enhanced by the planet Uranus which is almost in a precise conjunction to the Full Moon.

Uranus in conjunction to the Moon and in contrast to the Sun, brings changes, unexpected events, emotional turmoil, upset and sudden realizations that make us change the way we see things. It makes us reactionary, revolutionary and groundbreaking.

Retrograde, it makes us wonder what our truth is, and it completely redefines our concept of freedom but also what is the security that we so desperately need to feel on a deeper emotional level.

As a result, it brings everything upside down.

Possible manifestations of this Full Moon in Taurus are:

  •   We want changes that will bring us security and we know that in order to attain this we must first accept the dark parts of ourselves and overcome them.
  •   Sudden events or news disturb our tranquility.
  •   We realize our feelings in a kind of revelation, and we really grasp how true, intense and deep they are.
  •   We want to feel free and express our feelings abruptly, regardless of rules and conventions.
  •   We become reactive as our desires for more intimacy and emotional union in our relationships are not met.

Emotionally and erotically, this Full Moon intensifies a feeling of inadequacy and devaluation by others. A feeling that hurts us, but also that makes us think maybe it’s time to finally end relationships and situations that do not help us, instead of trying to reconcile the incompatible.

This Full Moon may also bring unexpected events that challenges what was familiar until now, emphasizing the need to restore emotional security in our love life.

This Full Moon shakes us and shocks us, and yes it does this because it aims to wake us up to see clearly what we are looking for.

With the uncertainty it causes and the tension it brings, it may disrupt our stability and calmness, but it does so because its purpose is to profoundly affect relationships and the way we connect.

You see, this Full Moon takes place a night that has something special in the air. A night that, according to tradition, the veil between the material world of senses and the intangible world of spirits and ghosts, becomes thinner.

The Taurus-Scorpio axis that the Full Moon takes place is akin to the “Trick or Treat” of this night, which is a threat of one person doing something that scares you on a psychological level (Scorpio), if you do not give him a treat with sweets or money, to cover him in material terms (Taurus).

And so this Full Moon and Uranus come to remind us that relationships are not material goods or the sense of security that material goods simply cover, and they are also not an insatiable and incessant sentimental vampirism, full of tensions, that all it does is create obsessions and psychological dependencies.

The only real connection is “In Soul and Body”. Consciously and unconsciously. Connection true in the expression of our individuality and with real freedom that arises from the osmosis and deep bonding, as the soul and the body become one.

This is how relationships should be.

And if they are not… then this Full Moon, that also has something special in the air, comes to shake us.

It comes to throw over, any relationships that are not essential and to chase away the vampires and ghosts of this unholy night…

FULL MOON IN ARIES OCTOBER 1st

By astrologer, Andrew Ifandis

The Full Moon in Aries, at midnight on October 1st, invites us to face our wounds and to be healed psychologically.

It is a Moon that brings emphasis to our relationships. On the one hand we feel the need to express our individuality and truth, without compromises, simply, clearly, and straightforwardly, and on the other hand we know that doing this may cause friction, upset the balance in our personal or professional relationships, and result in anguish.

It is a Full Moon that makes us see clearly that up to now we have put quite enough water in our wine by accepting behaviors and situations from others, just for the sake of avoiding the inevitable and at the expense of our own self-expression.

Under the influence of this Full Moon that is exactly that is paramount. To reach a healthy expression of our ego and our individuality that serves our relations.

A few days before the Full Moon and for the next two weeks, we are also called to see how vulnerable we are. We are called to face past feelings of inadequacy and our inability to assert and surpass ourselves.

Let us look our limitations face to face and put aside our pretexts. Now is the time, the pressure and the sorrow that we have felt until today, and all that scratched wounds of the past, to finally come to a halt.

Healthy relationships need truth and equality. The “I” and the “We” to move forward together, and that to be something that both sides seek and try.

So, let’s explain to others WHAT it is that hurts us, and WHY it hurts us.

But is that easy? Showing how vulnerable we are is a two-sided coin.

The Moon is in Aries and this position makes it dynamic – aggressive, and always ready for arguments. So the danger exists to easily color our deepest and most repressed emotions with competition or even anger. The Aries’ impulsive way is not the best way to show how we feel, especially now, when the intensity of emotions under the influence of this Full Moon is even greater.

You see, this Full Moon in Aries, in addition to pain and inadequacy is also full of accumulated anger, tension and psychological outbursts, as Mars moving retrograde forms squares to Saturn, Pluto and Jupiter in Capricorn – resulting in the very thing that we want to avoid if we do not put effort… and this is real hell!

So, beware of anger because balance is difficult to maintain.

But explaining how we feel and why we feel it remains essentially important. While this may create additional problems and quarrels – as the other person may react defensively, or even aggressively, to what he hears, on the other hand… it may be necessary to provoke the clash.

Necessary because the dilemma of separation and backlash that the quincunx aspect of the Sun to Uranus means to both persons in the union, a way out has to be found.

The positive aspects between Mars, Venus and the Lunar Nodes -aspects that connect the two rulers of the Lights in a karmic pattern that can evolve us, are the aspects that can works towards something good to emerge through the conflict and the tension. They may show how we will be able to finally find a way out. A way out that will come ONLY IF the two “I’s” in the relationship work in a spirit of cooperation and harmony.

This Full Moon in Aries hides enormous intensity. But behind this tension lies also the power that it has either to bring closure to our wounds, or to liberate us by moving us forward.

The aim of this Full Moon in Aries is not to avoid clash and confrontation. Its goal is to ooze the pus out from the wound, clean it, and heal it.

And this will happen, if we first we ourselves accept our wounds, understand them, and then share them with our loved ones. Share them NOT to blame them for them, but instead to ask them… to heal us.

On a cosmic level it is needless to say that it will be a very difficult full moon which will unfortunately make matters even more difficult as the pressure grows between the need for self-protection (Moon in Aries meeting with Chiron), social distancing and security (Sun in Libra cross with Uranus in Taurus) and the imposition of more strict measures or even quarantines (Mars square with Saturn).

Read more about the difficult period we are going through in my article entitled “The Perfect Storm”.

In any case, I wish you all a good Full Moon and to be full of health.

A Full Moon that brings repressed feelings to the surface and shakes relationships, is taking place on the night of the 13th of October.

Full Moons are always a beautiful spectacle. The disk of the Moon hovers majestically lit, amidst the darker sea of the sky, gleaming in white marble hues, and stirring awe inside us.

In Astrology a Full Moon’s energy may be more difficult or more easy. This happens because a Full Moon usually marks a peak of sentiments that comes within the contrasting energies of the Sun and the Moon. So the outcome becomes more harmonious or more dynamic, depending on which aspects are formed at the time of the Full Moon’s occurrence.

The case with this Full Moon in Aries is that it is a great amplifier of emotions.

With the Moon in the Sign of Aries, we may feel the impulse of the soul to act. It may be as if a spring of emotions that are overwhelming need to be expressed.

How?

Where?

When?

The headlong way of the Aries is not the best way to express how we feel during this particular Full Moon. And this is because, under the intensity of planet Pluto that is making a T-Square with the Two Lights, all hell may break loose.

You see, this Full Moon happens on the axis of Aries – Libra that relates to finding a balance between ourselves and the others.

This is the relationship axis in astrology, and in this particular case, there is a high pressure as the two lights are both steeped in the Plutonian Energy. With this Full Moon in Aries, we may feel as if somehow a dark veil has fallen on our psyche, a cloth covering smothering desires.

The Moon is in Aries and this place makes her power – aggressive, and argumentative. It is very easy that we color our deep and repressed feelings with antagonism or even anger.

Watch out for anger.

Psychological urges for power and control may also arise in relationships.

It becomes difficult to maintain the balance.

It is now the time for the root causes, the dark emotions, and the psychological power plays to come to the front.

Instinctual moods, possessiveness, jealousy.

Resisting “the YOU in ME”,

We watch the power plays of a couple performing in a lavishly decorated room that contrasts the emotional pressure that is felt.

This is just a piece of the couple’s dialogue:

“Neither of us wants to mature. That’s the reason we fight and torment each other and cry. Neither of us wants to grow up.”

– Ingmar Bergman, From the Life of the Marionettes.

FULL MOON IN ARIES 13 OCTOBER 2019

In this dark scenery, another aspect is added.

Some 23 hours before the Full Moon, Venus has made an exact opposition with Planet Uranus.

Venus is already colored by the Scorpionic energy since it has entered the Sign of Scorpio on the 8th of October.

How we relate, what we like, our desires, are now within an environment of intense emotions, that either suffocate the gentler expression of the planet or on the contrary intensify its dark side, dragging us into taboo zones.

And here is where the planet Uranus comes in, as Venus is in opposition with it.

Those who are single seek intense and unconventional pleasure, while those that feel pressured in their relationship are very unpleased.

The singles become obsessive for the excitement that cannot last, and those in relations are in need of “fresh air” out from the dark scenery, but change does not come easily.

“Neither of us wants to mature. Neither of us wants to grow up.”

In the echo of this line that is heard in the background, lies the lesson of the combined energy that Uranus and Pluto bring under this grey Full Moon.

This is a period of transformation. Deep buried aspects of our personality and desires which are illuminated with this Full Moon have to be addressed both solo and together.

This is a period of awakening. An awakening to a more genuine expression of ourselves that will either help or will eventually end, not only those relationships that are possessive and make us feel being non-free, but also those relationships, that although they do not belong to the previous category, on the other hand, do not allow openness, permissiveness and a healthy exchange in opinions and desires.

This is where the path that leads away from the journey into the underworld lies. We may use this crisis to evolve into the relationship. Το Grow Up. Το Mature.

This is the lesson of this Moon, for Aries, Libra, Cancer, Capricorn persons born in the last days of the second decan and in the first days of the third decan.

This is the lesson for Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, Aquarius persons, born in the first days of their Signs.

P.S. There are some helping aspects in this Full Moon.

One is the trine-sextile aspects that the two lights make with planet Jupiter, in a wedge formation that aids the tension.

The second is the magnificent trine that Mercury in Scorpio makes to Neptune in Pisces.

These aspects bring warm feelings, gentleness, generosity, openness, honesty, inspired thinking and spirituality, and they do work very positively for Pisces, Scorpio, Cancer, Virgo, and Taurus persons, of the middle second decan and the first days of the third decan.

But in my humble opinion, these aspects cannot balance the amplified intensity that this Full Moon is having for the Signs of the Cardinal Cross and the Fixed Signs of the first days.

This may be for the better…

Sometimes the shedding the old skin and the transforming into our new selves, worths all the pain that may come as a consequence of this very process of transformation.

Embrace the potential for transformation that this Full Moon holds, by confronting fearlessly everyone that oppresses or possesses you.

Do not fret and do not compromise!

But dear girls, do not forget first and foremost to confront fearlessly, the dark side of yourselves.

Fight it, and come out as winners.

The true Moon in Aries, Amazon style.

You know. 😉

FULL MOON IN AQUARIUS 15 AUGUST 2019

FULL MOON IN AQUARIUS 15 AUGUST 2019: A Love Play In Three Acts – Act Two

FULL MOON IN AQUARIUS 15 AUGUST 2019

The Full Moon takes place at 22°24’ of the Sign of Aquarius. It mainly has an effect for Leo, Scorpio, Aquarius, and Taurus persons, and also for Aries and Sagittarius persons, who are born in the first days of the third decan, as well as for those having personal planets, points or their Ascendant, near the 20° – 24° degrees.

This is a Full Moon that poses relationship dilemmas for Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius Signs.

It sweetly lures Gemini, Libra, Sagittarius and Aries persons into relationships or more flirting.

It creates jerky feelings and indecisiveness to Capricorn, Cancer, Virgo and Pisces Signs.

The New Moon in Leo two weeks ago has set the stage.

The actors, a man and a woman, played their roles. That of lovers or partners, in a script that was ingenuous. The lines carried excitement, freshness or the mere electrifying tension of planet Uranus.

It was a New Moon that stirred emotions and all of a sudden there were surprising events in relationships. For some who were single, new persons suddenly appeared and the sparks flew. An unexpected love, or deep admiration for someone special, or just flirting was in the air. Sure thing is, all that Leo energy has put some of us on the center of attention.

The stagnant waters of relationships were shaken, and for some others, thoughts of separation prevailed. Even sudden splits were actually made.

But the play isn’t over yet…

This August, three successive lunations,

with this Full Moon being the second, will prompt action for us,

to be both the actors and the viewers, of the greatest story of all.

That, between a Man and  a Woman.

Act Two – FULL MOON IN AQUARIUS

The Full Moon takes place at 22°24’ of the Sign of Aquarius on August the 15th. As the summer vacations peak, so does emotions peak, as this full moon highlights the themes and issues that begun at the start of the lunar cycle, with the New Moon in Leo on July the 31st.

The movement on the stage

The Sun

Since the first act of the play, summer moved on, and the Sun moved on, from the 8° of Leo to the 22° degree, bringing vitality, willfulness and confidence to Leo, Aries, and Sagittarius persons born in the second decan.

Sun in its move, made a wonderful trine with Jupiter in Sagittarius, boosting again their confidence and bringing luck to the Fire Signs. Combine this “Ego” boost with the attention and flirting that the New Moon promised for them, and you see that these Signs were the favored actors of the First Act.

During the same time, the Sun’s separating square with Planet Uranus and the Sun’s consecutive movement through the degrees mentioned, brought challenges and small crisis in confidence to Taurus, Scorpios and Aquarius Signs.

These were signs that felt the need to carefully plan their next steps professionally, to set goals, and that wondered, how to move on with partnerships and relations.

Planet Venus makes a superior conjunction with the Sun

Venus all this time, has been closely behind the Sun, and one day before the Full Moon, on August the 14th, Venus makes its superior conjunction to the Sun.

Venus, when in its superior conjunction phase, is furthest from the Earth, on the opposite side of the Sun. This phase is equivalent to the full moon phase, because the planet Venus and the Earth are in opposition with the Sun in between them.

What does this mean astrologically and in relation with the Full Moon in Aquarius?

It means that now begins a period, when our perception of ourselves, our charisma, our ideals and our very sense of value is shaped with meaning. Meaning that relates to, and is projected from, and towards, other persons.

It means that this is time when -if we are one of the favored Signs mentioned previously, we may feel at peace and harmony with ourselves, valued and loved, sociable and wanting to have fun. Good feelings coming from the attention we got.

If on the other hand, we are one of the non-favored signs, then we want to feel all these good feelings, despite our lack of confidence and any separating tendencies in relationships.

In any of the two cases, the point is that we now understand that feeling good and sharing is a two – way equation and involves relating.

The sudden love, the one night stand, the flirt, the need to split, any of the new circumstances that the New Moon in Leo has brought, is now examined and assessed internally, in a process that will shape a new sense of “We”.

Punch line: We are re-assessing what is that we like, as a result of the changes in our emotional and love life.

FULL MOON IN AQUARIUS 15 AUGUST 2019

The Moon opposes Sun and Venus

The Moon is right opposite from the heart of the Sun – Venus conjunction. And here exactly, in this opposition, lies the culmination and the tense.

The Moon is in the Sign of Aquarius. The feelings here are intellectualized, the need is to be objective, detached. On the stage two different principles are played out.

The loving heart of the Leo Sun and the passion of the Leo Venus against the cool, calm and collected individualism of the Aquarian soul.

The Moon in opposition to Venus also means that there is a clash between our needs (Moon) and what other people (opposition) like (Venus). Or it may mean that we try to please (Venus) others (opposition) at the expense of our emotional needs (Moon).

This Full Moon is the contrast the sweetness of being close with the carefree of being solo.

This is the friction that now appears, in addition to the re-assessment of how we relate, caused by the Venus-Sun Superior Conjunction.

The Moon in Aquarius, is thinking emotions. Thoughts, thoughts, thoughts …

  • Is freedom paramount or freedom leads to loneliness?
  • Is love real? Can it be rationalized?
  • Should we follow our emotions or should we keep calm and examine what is happening?
  • Should we stay in a relationship that does not have passion just for the sake of the feeling of friendship it offers?
  • Is that sudden love affair worth to invest on?
  • Now that we split can we remain friends?
  • We feel warm emotions. Is it permissible?

We have to find where the truth lies.

Helping us in the search of truth, the skies vibe with two important energies that are emitted simultaneously.

Jupiter is direct as Uranus is retrograde.

Jupiter retrograde was a period where we have examined where is that we want to go. Where growth lies for us. What is good, what is ethic? What advances our long term prosperity?

Uranus retrograde is the next chapter in our inner evolution. During this time we shall examine what we want to change. We shall deal with past changes. Persons and relations will be categorized between those that makes us fell free and those from which we want to break free.

Lastly one more aspect. Subtle but important. Moon is semi-sextile Pluto.

This is an aspect that shows that a subtle unconscious process is already working. Some digging (Pluto) into our core safety (Moon), out of which a reconciliation between feeling responsible (Capricorn) and feeling free (Uranus) at the same time, may be the result.

Let’s wait for Act Three…

I wish to all to enjoy this August Full Moon, feeling good and happy under its radiant light.

LUNAR ECLIPSE IN CAPRICORN - 16 JULY 2019

LUNAR ECLIPSE – 16 JULY 2019: Under the spiraling gyre – Part II

LUNAR ECLIPSE IN CAPRICORN - 16 JULY 2019

This particular eclipse is especially important for those who belong to the Signs of the Cardinal Cross (Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn), and who are born between July 15 – July 19, October 16 – October 20, January 12 – January 16, and April 12 – April 16.

Also to those having personal planets or their Ascendant near the 22° – 26° degrees of these Signs.

We are now deep into the eclipse season.

This is a period of significance.

I am warning you. I am going to be straightforward. I am going to be poetic. I am not going to caress your ears.

The Theme of the Eclipse – Individual Level

The partial Lunar Eclipse of July the 16th takes place at 24°04′ of the Sign of Capricorn.

It follows the Solar Eclipse in Cancer that took place two weeks ago, and as such it represents our emotional climax and response to issues that then started. It is the emotional reaction to the demands that are now beginning to appear.

And the emotional response seems to be quite, not to say extremely, heavy.

Pluto is conjunct the Moon in this eclipse. The Moon is in Capricorn, something that already makes her pragmatic and strict. Utilitarian and craving respect under the Pluto influence becomes obsessive or possessive, jealous or conspiring.

Emotions are at a peak. This is a Full Moon. This is an Eclipse. A Full Moon that is shadowed temporarily, eclipsed, loosing its tenderness and warmth, as the light from the Sun in Cancer that in a sense was giving her, is now blocked.

This will affect relations. Or this may be the start of an on-going emotional eclipse that will culminate in January 2020 with its end results in the summer of 2020.

LUNAR ECLIPSE IN CAPRICORN - 16 JULY 2019Moon is conjunct Saturn also. On top to the deep psychological examination that the conjunction with Pluto brings, heavy lies the burden of responsibilities. Work versus family life. Sadness.

On the other side of the chart Venus is conjunct the Sun and opposite Saturn.

This Venus – Saturn opposition reinforces the theme of detachment in our relationships but does not yet herald the split or the breaking up. It is the recognition of the stagnation, of the boundaries in affection and love. The difficulty to reach out.

Financial problems may also befall those hit close by this eclipse. While money cannot be made out of thin air, the emotional shortage can at least be prevented.

Get out of the Moon – Pluto – Saturn zone and reach on the other side of the chart to the Sun conjunct Venus. There is help there.

Reflect as Mercury retrogrades from Leo into Cancer:

  • Is this pressure that causes emotional and existential stress on my family life worth?
  • Do I need the professional spotlight? Do I need to crave attention? (Mercury Rx in Leo)?

or

  • is it better if I focus on what it is that the other person needs?
  • Be gentle, be kind, be attentive to the needs of the important ones in your life.
  • As the power games appear, turn to your sweeter side.
  • You may have less money but you become rich by displaying affection.
  • Be intuitively present for the others and do it politely and with no expectations.
  • Use the positive expression from the Sun conjunct Venus in Cancer.

Look to the easing of the opposition.

Neptune is sextile Saturn and trine to Venus and the North Node of the eclipse chart.

Neptune is selfless wholeness.

Its sextile to Saturn is constructive belief and grounded faith. Its trine to Venus is devotion and devout.

This devout feeling or the very faith in the value of yourself, gives the needed rebirth (Pluto) to the emotions (Moon). Ii is a baptism in faith (Neptune).

This is a DIFFICULT eclipse. Use Astrology. Use the eclipse’s chart for your emotional benefit. (Pluto conjunct Moon in Capricorn – in its positive expression).

This eclipse is monumental in the way it reshapes our emotional centre in the areas it affects in the chart.

Will the centre hold?

“Be full with passionate intensity and don’t lack conviction” in this spiraling gyre of the eclipses and the synodic cycles, as the great poet W.B. Yeats would have said.

I warned you I would be poetic…haven’t I?

The eclipse effect for the Signs

(applies for rising sign also or natal placements of personal planets near the degree of the eclipse)

The eclipse is difficult highlighting issues relative to the houses and the planets it falls on in the natal chart, for Aries, Cancer, Libra Signs, especially those mentioned in the start of the article.

It is empowerment through increased pressure and responsibilities for Capricorn Signs, especially those mentioned in the start of the article. because they tend to respond better to the Saturnine Energy, even if it’s oppressive.

It is a revisiting of the past or the past re – appearing in the form of persons or situations mostly for Leo and Scorpios and to a lesser extent for Aquarius.

It mostly works neutral to positive for Taurus, Virgos, Pisces, Gemini and Sagittarius Signs.

The Lunar Eclipse will be fully visible from nearly all countries in the world, with the exception of United States, Canada and North-Eastern Russia.

Continue on here to see how this eclipse will affect us on a mundane level.
