LUNAR ECLIPSE IN AQUARIUS – 27 JULY 2018: Long Hot Summer – Part Two

Sharing is caring:

LUNAR ECLIPSE IN AQUARIUS – 27 JULY 2018

This summer is marked by three eclipses and many planets being retrograde during the eclipse season. The combination of these astrological factors is something that is relatively rare and it shapes an unpredictable, dynamic and hot landscape.

This eclipse is especially important for those who belong to the Signs of the Fixed Cross (Leo, Aquarius, Taurus, and Scorpio) and who are born between July 25 – 29, October 25 – 29, January 22 – 26 and April 22 – 26.  Also to those having personal planets or their Ascendant near the 01° – 06° degrees of these Signs.

Long Hot Summer – Part Two

The Lunar Eclipse of July 27th is the second of the three eclipses of this summer’s eclipse season. It occurs in the Sign of Aquarius and succeeds the Solar Eclipse in Cancer while it is to be followed by yet another Solar Eclipse in Leo.

In a sense, this eclipse raises the volume of the already loud Solar Eclipse in Cancer and becomes our emotional response to the events that have started to manifest. Under this Full Moon that is eclipsed, emotions are very, very tense.

An example that can demonstrate how this eclipse may work, if seen as a pair with the Solar Eclipse in Cancer, is:

Awareness of crisis in friendships or at home (triggered by the Solar Eclipse of July), heightens to overreaction and emotional outbursts that eventually affect our relations.

This lasts until at least the upcoming solar eclipse in Leo when we may find the courtly demeanour to talk things over.

The Lunar Eclipse of 27th of July takes place in Aquarius and the Moon, when is in this Sign, becomes detached and less emotional.

Combine these qualities with this particular eclipse’s conjunction of the Moon with the volatile Mars that is also in Aquarius, and unpredictability and tactless behaviour is something we cannot easily avoid.

With Aquarius Moon we may not be emotional in the sense of displaying passion or drama, but beware because under this eclipse, Aquarian cold-hearted and fixed emotional responses may prove more dangerous than the drama of a Fire Sign or the pathos of a Water Sign, and result in the breaking up of relationships and friendships.

I wrote some lines above that this second in a row eclipse, raises the volume.

One day before this Lunar Eclipse in Aquarius, Mercury has turned retrograde in Leo, adding one more retrograde planet in the mix. This means that misunderstandings that evolve drama may appear.

So either misunderstandings and drama or detached emotional coldness that may cut us off from important others. Are these really our only options?

The landscape is rocky

This Lunar Eclipse is characterized, unfortunately, by two very difficult astrological factors, since Mars retrograde is involved with the two Lights and a T-Square pattern is formed between Uranus, Mars and the eclipse.

Mars has being retrograde during the last month. The tension has reached a critical point. If we have done our homework and have wisely assessed what is worth fighting for, then a healthy outlet for the Mars explosive energy may be found

LUNAR ECLIPSE IN AQUARIUS – 27 JULY 2018

Mars Invictus – The Mars effect is strong in this eclipse

Take a look at the sky on the night of the eclipse. A little below the Moon you will see a glowing orange-red dot, that is Mars.

The planet is very close to the Earth as this is one of the closest Mars perihelic oppositions, with Mars brightness “around the time Earth sweeps between Mars and the sun outshining Jupiter by some 1.8 times”.

The exact opposition of Mars with the Sun occurs on July 27th  and coincides with the eclipse. Astrologically this means that the planet is already retrograde and that on the very day of the eclipse its energy will be felt more strongly, since it will be the most close to the Earth.

Mars is in the Sign of Aquarius, so any inner tension that is building may very well relate to how we assert our individuality. Mars is also conjunct the South Node, so we will feel the planet’s character in its raw manner, rather than experiencing a more refined expression of it.

Another factor that gives strength to Mars in this eclipse, is that the planet is also Out of Bounds from the 7th of July until the 27th of September, roaming high above the ecliptic.

This means UNPREDICTABLE behaviour and this Out of Bounds movement peaks between 14th August and 19th of August, when Mars will reach an astounding declination of 26°29’ South of the ecliptic!

The Mars – Uranus – Eclipse T-Square

Another difficult aspect that occurs with this eclipse is the square between Mars and Uranus that peaks on August the 2nd.

Mars already turbo charged by all the factors I have mentioned, is meeting electric Uranus in a tense aspect that has eruptive qualities.

And as if this is not enough, all this energy is falling upon the Moon and the Sun, with Mars conjunct the Moon and opposition to the Sun, and Uranus in a square aspect to all players.

What happens with this particular eclipse is that Mars is simultaneously having multiple astrological qualities that make the planet express its aggressive nature to the most.

So…

What is IMPPORTANT during this eclipse

  • Choose what is worth fighting for.
  • Swallow our pride especially when quarrels or misunderstandings erupt.
  • Try to be flexible. All the charged energy that the eclipse is having is expressed in fixed signs and as a result make us immovable and stubborn.
  • Ease out. Release the tension. Find ways for an outlet of all pent-up emotions because it is very easy they suddenly erupt.
  • Remember that irritability is a part of the whole equation. We cannot avoid it. We must patiently accept it and wait until it passes.
  • Avoid contradiction and reactionary behavior.
  • Show affection and love and not become cold, objective, harsh and tactless.
  • We are very cautious to avoid injuries and minor accidents.

Let the retrograde planets work in our favor

This is the most difficult eclipse of this long, hot summer and occurs within an environment of five planets being retrograde (Mercury, Mars, Saturn, Neptune, Pluto).

Introspective work and re-evaluation to all areas pertaining to the retrograde planets will be of great help.

To tap into the energy of the Saturn trine Uranus aspect that lasts all summer, will be beneficial also.

This is hot summer days and long summer nights… One more eclipse to go.

FULL MOON IN SCORPIO – 30 APRIL 2018: The Balance Shifts

Sharing is caring:

Full Moon in Scorpio 2018

The Full Moon takes place at 09° 38’ of the Sign of Scorpio. It strongly affects Scorpio, Taurus, Leo, and Aquarius Signs, which are born near the end of the 1st decan or near the start of the 2nd decan, as well as those having personal planets or their Ascendant near the degrees 7°- 11° of the Fixed cross.

Prelude

Since the Aries New Moon two weeks ago, the moon has traveled half its cycle. Sign by Sign, it moved into the Sign of Scorpio and now shines, late at night, reflecting the light from the Sun that is in the Sign of Taurus.

This reflection is a culmination. It reflects a turning point in a process that started with the New Moon in Aries, a process that awakened us and placed us at the center of developments.

The previous New Moon was the impulse that pushed us, and now the Full Moon in Scorpio is our emotional response to a need that is deeply ingrained in the fabric of our soul.  The need for a meaningful connection that transforms. It is us desiring rebirth.

All full moons in Scorpio awake a desire for transformation, but with this Full Moon the need is intense and we can now make the difference.

Now we tip the scales. With this Full Moon in Scorpio the shift is made and everything is set in motion.

Act 1 – Balance Shift

There are three strong astrological indicators that give to this particular Full Moon a fated or as I more prefer to call it, evolutionary nature.

Moon from within the 9°38’ degrees of Scorpio opposes the Sun in Taurus and at the same time, both lights are in a square aspect to the Lunar Nodes at 10°30’ degrees of the Leo – Aquarius axis. This is the current eclipses’ axis and actually, if one checks, this Full Moon is not only squaring the nodes but it is also square the total Lunar Eclipse of January the 31st.

This cosmic coincidence connects the Lunar Eclipse with this Full Moon and means that emotional issues manifested right after the January eclipse, things that have been brewing under the surface all this time, have now reached a critical point. We can no longer balance between material stability (Taurus) and emotional security (Scorpio). Now it is the time that the balance shifts towards the one or the other, marking the beginning of a new period in our life.

Act 2 – Manifestation

Saturn is retrograde and, from the 9th degree of Capricorn, is forming a tight trine – sextile aspect to the Full Moon in Scorpio.

This second factor gives this Full Moon a serious nature. Saturn, the great teacher, gives us an opportunity to not only discipline the intense emotions of this Full Moon but also eases the manifestation of our will and the achievement of personal goals.

What Saturn does is that it makes a reality out of the tension represented by this full moon and with its retrograde movement, a Karmic feeling to what is being unfolding for us, is emphasized once more.

Act 3 – Developmental Patterns

The third astrological factor that denotes development, is the Trapeze aspect pattern that is formed on the chart of this Full Moon.

This is a combined aspect pattern formed by two Learning Triangles, each one in opposite direction to the other. The Trapeze has at its corners, Saturn, the Moon, the North Node, and Mercury.

This trapeze pattern, in its remarkable combination of multiple aspects, suggests a sequence of cyclical learning processes that result in personal development.

Finale

All these suggest one thing.

We cannot escape the unavoidable culmination and the making of important decisions.

The fact that between the two lights, the Moon is the one that forms the most aspects means that it is what we feel that will eventually make all the difference under this Scorpionic Full Moon.

It is our emotions that will set the motion and under this perspective it is fortunate that the Moon conjuncts Jupiter and is making a trine aspect to Neptune, because we are inspired.

We intuitively trust that after some initial unrest something good will turn out.

Epilogue

This Full Moon in Scorpio is a critical time especially for those having personal planets close to the 9th degree of the fixed cross. Depending on the houses where it falls on our personal chart it may mean:

  • Issues that first appeared at the end of January have now reached a culmination point.
  • Moving to a new house as a result of long felt emotional turmoil with family members.
  • Changes within marital dynamics result in actions that set us on a completely new course.
  • For some women, the realization that emotional intimacy matters more than material security becomes an achieved certainty.
  • For some men, passionate feelings for a woman, that were put aside in favor of serenity, reawaken and the game is still on.

One thing is sure…however it may affect us, this is a Full Moon that will be strongly felt.
