LUNAR ECLIPSE IN CAPRICORN - 16 JULY 2019

LUNAR ECLIPSE – 16 JULY 2019: Under the spiraling gyre – Part I

Sharing is caring:

LUNAR ECLIPSE IN CAPRICORN - 16 JULY 2019

This particular eclipse is especially important for those who belong to the Signs of the Cardinal Cross (Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn), and who are born between July 15 – July 19, October 16 – October 20, January 12 – January 16, and April 12 – April 16.

Also to those having personal planets or their Ascendant near the 22° – 26° degrees of these Signs.

We are now deep into the eclipse season.

This is a period of significance.

I am warning you. I am going to be blunt, I am going to be straightforward. I am going to reference the symbolism of poetry. I am to give you a snapshot of the eclipse(s) that is (are) coming.

It is not the end of the world. Never will it be.

The Lunar Eclipse in Capricorn on July the 16th is not the most difficult eclipse. On the contrary, it has some aspects that are good and it may work very positive on an individual level for some of the Signs.  – Read Part II

But though not the most difficult, it is nevertheless a VERY DIFFICULT eclipse.

It marks the first taste of the Saturn – Plutonic pressure that is going to resonate during the first half of 2020 as we approach the Saturn – Pluto conjunction.

The eclipse at a mundane level

In the mundane expression of this eclipse now begins the lifting of the heavy burden and the upcoming overturn. Now is the upsetting.

There is a cosmic relation between this lunar eclipse and the lunar eclipse that is coming on January the 10th of 2020. Two days before the conjunction of the heavy artillery of planet Saturn and planet Pluto on 22°46’ of Capricorn.

This one takes place at 24°04 of Capricorn while the January one takes place on 20° precisely.

Do you get the picture?

The conjunction is at 22°, and the two eclipses are, the first one two degrees ahead, and the latter, two degrees before.

22° is sandwiched between the two eclipses with heavy metal music playing on the 20° and 24°.

“Emphasized 22° degree, so what?”, one may ask.

But it is not this only…

There is also an emphasis on the 20th degree, relating to last July’s eclipse on the 13th of the month that took place on 20°41’ of Cancer and…

…and Mercury, that is retrograde during this eclipse, will station direct exactly on 24° of Cancer also. (23°56’ to be precise).

This is not only a cosmic “sandwich” upon the 22° degrees of the Cardinal Signs but also a heavy bombardment of energy both on 20° and 24°degrees, starting with this eclipse and ending on January 2020.

On a mundane level we are now entering a period where the traditional structures and the global power dynamics are shifting irrevocably.

LUNAR ECLIPSE IN CAPRICORN - 16 JULY 2019

The Cancer – Capricorn nodal axis of the eclipses and the Saturn – Pluto conjunction, redefine and reshape the extent to which less powered nations will accept the pressure of globalization and corporations.

Boundaries will reshape. Nationalism versus Globalism. Distribution of power will be challenged. Development will be framed because unchecked, it is consuming the planet.

To nurture and care (Cancer) for the many will become a paramount request. People over profits, (Pluto in Capricorn).

How power is exerted (Capricorn) in relation to issues of homeland, nationality and tradition (Cancer) becomes important.

These are the warring elements at the end of the Saturn – Pluto synodic cycle. This is how the world chess game will play out with all the pressure on the central 22° degree.

Will the centre hold?

“The center cannot hold” as the great poet W.B. Yeats would have said, under this spiraling gyre of the eclipses and the synodic cycles.

I warned you I would be symbolic, haven’t I?

The Lunar Eclipse will be fully visible from nearly all countries in the world, with the exception of United States, Canada and North-Eastern Russia.

Continue on here to see how this eclipse will affect you on an individual level.

The eclipse at a cosmic level

The Total Lunar Eclipse takes place on January 20 or 21, 2019, depending on where on the world we are.

In the archetypal conflict that this lunar eclipse represents, expressed by the position of the Sun in Aquarius in opposition to the Moon in Leo, two more astrological factors are added.

The first is that the axis of the eclipse is in the signs of Capricorn and Cancer and the second that the planet Uranus is in a square aspect to the two Lights, a basic and defining aspect as we have already said in our analysis of the influence of this eclipse on an individual level.

All the sparkling electricity, and the revolutionary or subversive action of the planet Uranus, that is now moving direct, is beginning to find a way out, and this fact shows us emphatically that at the cosmic level we will see protests and uproars in the coming months.

The two January eclipses combined.

If we combine the above factors, the intensity of this eclipse at a cosmic level results from a conflict between leadership (Leo) and political bodies or collective movements (Aquarius), since important for the general development (Nodal Axis), is how power is exerted (Capricorn) in relation to issues of homeland, nationality and tradition (Cancer).

This Lunar eclipse signifies the impact of the situations that began with the Solar Eclipse that preceded it. Thus, these two eclipses in combination can mean:

The way power is handled by technocratic and logistic structures, and the empowerment of oppression and control (Capricorn), cause immediate and rapid awareness in the masses.

Awareness associated with how governments exert their power (Solar Eclipse in Capricorn) are now causing a crisis between leaders (Leo Moon) and collective or political bodies (Sun in Aquarius)

or

Challenge the pride of the People (Moon in Leo) who reacts (Sun in Aquarius), joining the individual action with the collective process.

These awareness culminate emotionally, and within a short time they bring fights or protest that relate both to the sense of security and to issues of homeland (Cancer).

Cosmic Level – Anatomy of the Aspects

The square of Sun to Uranus shakes the dull everyday life, brings a reaction towards figures of power, and creates a break with everything that wants to patronize our individual expression in the name of the common goal. It is the eccentric autonomy that does not want boundaries and limitations. It is the rebellious ego within us.

The square of Moon to Uranus is the outbreak of the tension. The anxiety and the agitation that cumulatively burst with an excitement of electrical tension. Upheaval in our family and home life.

The square of Mercury to Uranus is unexpected news, nerves and cerebral tension. Commotion in transportation and reversals of plans. Sudden events related to media.

The square of Uranus with the Moon’s Nodes brings the energy of the planet into the heart of the events and gives its strong stigma for the following period with collective reactions.

The square of Mars to Saturn, in an almost precise aspect, is conflict with law, discipline, prevention, fatigue, limited action, anger, and conflict.

Vision of the days to come

It is obvious that the Total Lunar Eclipse of January hides pressure and eruptive events that we will soon see develop. Examples are the latest political developments in Greece and reactions in France and England (Brexit), dealing with national issues and the exercise of power.

The Total Lunar Eclipse is fully visible in all its phases (penumbral, partial, total) from all the countries in North and South America, from the United Kingdom, Portugal, Norway and Sweden.

It is also visible in the phases of partial and total eclipse, from the rest of Europe and from Northwest Africa.

In the above regions it is that we shall witness the events that the eclipse brings.

Coming Full Circle

The Total Lunar Eclipse on January 21, 2019 brings down the curtain of the eclipses on the Leo – Aquarius axis.

It takes place at 0° 51′ degrees of Leo and completes a long series of eclipses happening on the above axis. Eclipses, that since February 2017, and combined with planet Uranus entering in the Sign of Taurus, have signaled significant, difficult or in some cases even painful changes for several of the Signs of the Fixed Cross.

This blood moon eclipse that once again activates the first degrees of the Fixed Signs, something that last summer has created tensions with:

  • Either sudden break-ups,
  • Or considerations to ending our relationship, that eventually were dismissed in an attempt to renew it, despite the emotional suffocation,
  • Or separations that seemed to be definitive.

All of the above are also true for partnerships and professional or other close personal relationships.

Now the circle closes and this eclipse marks for the Signs of the Fixed Cross, and even more for those in the degrees I mention in the introduction, definitive outcomes, since any turns and changes will have been completed by mid-April at the latest.

The Theme of the Eclipse – Individual Level

This eclipse follows the Solar Eclipse in Capricorn that took place two weeks ago, and as such it represents our emotional climax and response to the awareness that then started, and to the demands that are now beginning to appear.

With the Sun in the Sign of Aquarius and the Moon in the Sign of Leo, the eclipse brings to the fore situations that on the personal level relate to ourselves being part of a wider whole on one hand, and to our need for self-expression on the other.

With the Moon being close to the North Node in the Leo Sign, this eclipse invites us to leave behind detached or intellectual behaviors, that do not help us in important relationships and partnerships, and urges us to function by showing more passion and more emotion.

It is an eclipse that invites us to harmonize and work with others, but that also gives us the necessary space for creation.

Persons, relationships, and situations that do not help our self-expression will be left behind so that we can move forward with those who accept our healthy expression of who we are and who also give us their acceptance and their love.

This will of course not be easy.

Lunar Eclipse in Leo 21 January

In the archetypal conflict expressed by the position of the Sun in Aquarius and the Moon in Leo, the astrological factor added is the planet Uranus that makes a square aspect with the two Lights.

It is an eclipse that brings electrifying tension.

“Feelings have a bad knack. They burst suddenly. When you least expect it.”

Anton Chekhov

This phrase from the theatrical play “Uncle Vanya”, of the great Russian playwright, describes in the best way the energy of this very strong eclipse.

That is exactly how the situations will be finalized. That is how space will be made for us to go forward.

With sudden outbursts of emotions or reactions.

This is how we’ll be lead to definitive separations or, in some cases, to definitive reunions.

In so sudden a way we will become aware of who we are, who we are together with, and how we will move forward.

But the chart of the eclipse is not only tension.

It has the wonderful conjunction of Venus with Jupiter which finds both planets together in a trine aspect to Mars. An aspect of popularity that brings new acquaintances, love opportunities and favors action towards new collaborations.

This conjunction also forms a square aspect to Neptune, so our attention is needed, as we are permanently done with the past, to properly evaluate the new, and not make the mistake of having unrealistic expectations or coloring it with pink glasses.

So, on a personal level, this difficult eclipse may initially bring uncertainty and insecurity, but let us remember that with self-control, adaptability and acceptance of change, we will be able to manage the new situations and exploit the opportunities it will create for us.

FULL MOON IN ARIES SEPTEMBER 2018: The Dark Night of the Soul

Sharing is caring:

FULL MOON IN ARIES SEPTEMBER 2018

This Full Moon in Aries will bring tension and tests to the relationships of Aries and Libra Signs and increased responsibility to home and career for Cancer and Capricorn Signs.

Planet Mars in conjunction to the South Node shall affect the Signs of the Fixed Cross (Leo, Aquarius, Scorpio, and Taurus).

This Full Moon has a potent dynamic and depending on where it falls on our personal horoscope it affects all of us that are having personal planets, angles and points in the above Signs, and especially those that are born in the first decan of these Signs.

An autumnal Full Moon in Aries is taking place on September 24th 2018.

The characterization autumnal is twice appropriate for this full moon, since besides its seasonal character, in addition it describes the mood that this full moon creates.

But let’s take first things first.

This is a Full Moon in Aries. The moon when in the Sign of Aries, though bold it may be, is at the same time an ego-centered, impatient moon that rushes headlong into confrontation if provoked. A Moon placed here makes us to respond quick and immediate to external stimuli, something that now that the Moon is fully lit by the Sun opposite her, is accentuated.

Every full moon is the tension of something culminating or coming to fulfillment and when the Aries Moon is fully opposite the Sun in Libra, the tension is others and relationships.

  • Should we be Competitive or Compromising?
  • Can we two work together?
  • Should we boldly express our needs or should we find delicate ways to make others understand what is that we want of them?

These are some of the themes of this archetypal opposition and this particular Full Moon in Aries brings these issues to the fore and moreover adds a tone of melancholy, heated discussions and embitterment in the whole mix.

Words may hurt

The main players of the Full Moon are each one conjunct to another body. Sun in Libra is making a conjunction with Mercury and Moon a conjunction with Chiron in Aries.

Try to imagine now how the mix is changed. It is very difficult for a person to compromise one opposition, let alone the four ones formed in the Full Moon in Aries chart.

  • Chiron opposes Sun
  • Chiron opposes Mercury
  • Mercury opposes Moon
  • Mercury opposes Chiron

The tension feels like a disagreement between an already wounded and touchy female and an intellectual and diplomatic man that tries to find a way to compromise without succumbing to emotional blackmail.

Especially with this Full Moon where Mercury is conjunct the Sun in Libra, common sense and logic require discussions and a climate of co-operation in order to avoid conflicts.

We have to communicate but at the same time we must be careful of what we are saying and how we are saying it, because Mercury in opposition with the Moon brings difficulties in expression and can make us communicate what we feel in a totally erroneous manner.

The woman’s hurt feelings cannot be easily soothed by the man’s logical approach. Regardless of how balanced and compromising words he may use, the opposition of Chiron to Mercury drags up memories of emotional pain.

“You talk to me with words, I talk to you with feelings”, she says.

Respect, Truth and Warmth

On top of these already over-emotional and stressed oppositions, planet Saturn stands as a merciless judge, being in a square aspect to all participating bodies.

Saturn is once more direct in the Sign of Capricorn from September the 6th, and now demands truth, integrity and responsibility. Within the aspect patterns of this full moon, Saturn is the focal planet of two T-squares that involve the Moon – Chiron conjunction on one side, and the Sun-Mercury conjunction on the other.

So if we include Saturn, we are having four more aspects that cast their gloom and somber tone on the picture.

  • Saturn squares Sun
  • Saturn squares Mercury
  • Saturn squares Moon
  • Saturn squares Chiron

To continue with the illustration I gave before, the man has to balance between being overly strict, resulting in exerting much emotional pressure on one side, and not clearly defining where his limits are, on the other, something that will result in the problem of them being crossed again.

He has to think clearly and be fair, avoiding misunderstandings and his darker expression.

The woman has to find the courage to overcome her sadness and fears and to cope with the situation understanding that it is a natural process towards addressing the relationship issues successfully and result in overall healing and well-being.

She does not have to feel inadequate, on the contrary, the square of Saturn the great teacher with Chiron the wounded healer, is a challenge to treat herself and her partner with respect and genuine warmth. It is the necessary friction that she has to transcend in order to cross the barrier of suffering and communicate her feelings with truth and kindness.

A trigger for closure

That would be the ideal, all of us to be able to grasp the hard aspects and to use them constructively and at will, but as we know this is more easily said than done.

This Full Moon in Aries is a pivotal Full Moon with Mars conjunct the South Node at 4° of the Aquarius Sign, a degree that is triggering the Lunar Eclipse of the 27th of July. All the issues that have emerged from the difficult summer have now to be faced and dealt with, even if risking a possible split or final loss.

Fortunately Mars is direct this time, and it is making a sextile to the Moon in Aries (that it also rules), and a trine to the Sun in Libra. Both aspects easing the tension and aiding discussions and the means to finding a common ground.

But in order to do so Mars demands co-operative spirit, healthy ego and the rationalization of the pent-up emotions in true Aquarian spirit.

We have to be patient also…

This Full Moon in Aries is the Dark Night of the Soul, a night with a potential for transformation through healing both for us and for our relations.

As Joseph Campbell said:

“The Dark Night of the Soul comes just before revelation.

When everything is lost, and all seems darkness, then comes the new life, and all that is needed.”

LUNAR ECLIPSE 27 JULY 2018

LUNAR ECLIPSE IN AQUARIUS – 27 JULY 2018: Long Hot Summer – Part Two

Sharing is caring:

LUNAR ECLIPSE IN AQUARIUS – 27 JULY 2018

This summer is marked by three eclipses and many planets being retrograde during the eclipse season. The combination of these astrological factors is something that is relatively rare and it shapes an unpredictable, dynamic and hot landscape.

This eclipse is especially important for those who belong to the Signs of the Fixed Cross (Leo, Aquarius, Taurus, and Scorpio) and who are born between July 25 – 29, October 25 – 29, January 22 – 26 and April 22 – 26.  Also to those having personal planets or their Ascendant near the 01° – 06° degrees of these Signs.

PERSONAL ECLIPSE READING

Long Hot Summer – Part Two

The Lunar Eclipse of July 27th is the second of the three eclipses of this summer’s eclipse season. It occurs in the Sign of Aquarius and succeeds the Solar Eclipse in Cancer while it is to be followed by yet another Solar Eclipse in Leo.

In a sense, this eclipse raises the volume of the already loud Solar Eclipse in Cancer and becomes our emotional response to the events that have started to manifest. Under this Full Moon that is eclipsed, emotions are very, very tense.

An example that can demonstrate how this eclipse may work, if seen as a pair with the Solar Eclipse in Cancer, is:

Awareness of crisis in friendships or at home (triggered by the Solar Eclipse of July), heightens to overreaction and emotional outbursts that eventually affect our relations.

This lasts until at least the upcoming solar eclipse in Leo when we may find the courtly demeanour to talk things over.

The Lunar Eclipse of 27th of July takes place in Aquarius and the Moon, when is in this Sign, becomes detached and less emotional.

Combine these qualities with this particular eclipse’s conjunction of the Moon with the volatile Mars that is also in Aquarius, and unpredictability and tactless behaviour is something we cannot easily avoid.

With Aquarius Moon we may not be emotional in the sense of displaying passion or drama, but beware because under this eclipse, Aquarian cold-hearted and fixed emotional responses may prove more dangerous than the drama of a Fire Sign or the pathos of a Water Sign, and result in the breaking up of relationships and friendships.

I wrote some lines above that this second in a row eclipse, raises the volume.

One day before this Lunar Eclipse in Aquarius, Mercury has turned retrograde in Leo, adding one more retrograde planet in the mix. This means that misunderstandings that evolve drama may appear.

So either misunderstandings and drama or detached emotional coldness that may cut us off from important others. Are these really our only options?

The landscape is rocky

This Lunar Eclipse is characterized, unfortunately, by two very difficult astrological factors, since Mars retrograde is involved with the two Lights and a T-Square pattern is formed between Uranus, Mars and the eclipse.

Mars has being retrograde during the last month. The tension has reached a critical point. If we have done our homework and have wisely assessed what is worth fighting for, then a healthy outlet for the Mars explosive energy may be found

LUNAR ECLIPSE IN AQUARIUS – 27 JULY 2018

Mars Invictus – The Mars effect is strong in this eclipse

Take a look at the sky on the night of the eclipse. A little below the Moon you will see a glowing orange-red dot, that is Mars.

The planet is very close to the Earth as this is one of the closest Mars perihelic oppositions, with Mars brightness “around the time Earth sweeps between Mars and the sun outshining Jupiter by some 1.8 times”.

The exact opposition of Mars with the Sun occurs on July 27th  and coincides with the eclipse. Astrologically this means that the planet is already retrograde and that on the very day of the eclipse its energy will be felt more strongly, since it will be the most close to the Earth.

Mars is in the Sign of Aquarius, so any inner tension that is building may very well relate to how we assert our individuality. Mars is also conjunct the South Node, so we will feel the planet’s character in its raw manner, rather than experiencing a more refined expression of it.

Another factor that gives strength to Mars in this eclipse, is that the planet is also Out of Bounds from the 7th of July until the 27th of September, roaming high above the ecliptic.

This means UNPREDICTABLE behaviour and this Out of Bounds movement peaks between 14th August and 19th of August, when Mars will reach an astounding declination of 26°29’ South of the ecliptic!

The Mars – Uranus – Eclipse T-Square

Another difficult aspect that occurs with this eclipse is the square between Mars and Uranus that peaks on August the 2nd.

Mars already turbo charged by all the factors I have mentioned, is meeting electric Uranus in a tense aspect that has eruptive qualities.

And as if this is not enough, all this energy is falling upon the Moon and the Sun, with Mars conjunct the Moon and opposition to the Sun, and Uranus in a square aspect to all players.

What happens with this particular eclipse is that Mars is simultaneously having multiple astrological qualities that make the planet express its aggressive nature to the most.

So…

What is IMPPORTANT during this eclipse

  • Choose what is worth fighting for.
  • Swallow our pride especially when quarrels or misunderstandings erupt.
  • Try to be flexible. All the charged energy that the eclipse is having is expressed in fixed signs and as a result make us immovable and stubborn.
  • Ease out. Release the tension. Find ways for an outlet of all pent-up emotions because it is very easy they suddenly erupt.
  • Remember that irritability is a part of the whole equation. We cannot avoid it. We must patiently accept it and wait until it passes.
  • Avoid contradiction and reactionary behavior.
  • Show affection and love and not become cold, objective, harsh and tactless.
  • We are very cautious to avoid injuries and minor accidents.

Let the retrograde planets work in our favor

This is the most difficult eclipse of this long, hot summer and occurs within an environment of five planets being retrograde (Mercury, Mars, Saturn, Neptune, Pluto).

Introspective work and re-evaluation to all areas pertaining to the retrograde planets will be of great help.

To tap into the energy of the Saturn trine Uranus aspect that lasts all summer, will be beneficial also.

This is hot summer days and long summer nights… One more eclipse to go.
