LEO SOLAR ECLIPSE – 11 AUGUST 2018: Long Hot Summer – Part Three

Sharing is caring:

LEO SOLAR ECLIPSE - 11 AUGUST 2018This summer is marked by three eclipses and many planets being retrograde during the eclipse season. The combination of these astrological factors is something that is relatively rare and it shapes an unpredictable, dynamic and hot landscape.

This eclipse is especially important for those who belong to the Signs of the Fixed Cross (Leo, Aquarius, Taurus, and Scorpio) and who are born between August 9 – 13, November 9 – 13, February 5 – 9 and May 7 – 11.  Also to those having personal planets or their Ascendant near the 16° – 20° degrees of these Signs.

Long Hot Summer – Part Three

The Solar Eclipse of August 11th is the final of the three eclipses of this long, hot summer’s eclipse season. It occurs in the Sign of Leo and succeeds the Solar Eclipse in Cancer and the Lunar Eclipse in Aquarius.

This eclipse functions as the aftermath of the highly dynamic period that preceded it. In a sense, it is a new beginning that follows after the realizations and the emotional peaks that we have experienced under the influence of the previous eclipses. Two powerful eclipses that have raised the volume both on personal and mundane level.

The first eclipse challenged our sense of security (Solar Eclipse in Cancer) and made us aware of power plays and pressures at home or in relationships.

The second eclipse, in its mundane expression, has resulted in unpredictable collective drama (Mars retrograde square Uranus and conjunct the South Node in Aquarius). With Mars, the planet of fire, dominant in this second and most difficult eclipse, we have unfortunately witnessed a July that was marked by wild forest fires, high temperatures that made new records and deadly heatwaves, across the globe.

The personal drama (Leo) has been brought into the collective (Aquarius) and the repercussions create political and collective re-action (Mars Retrograde in Aquarius) and re- thinking (Mercury Retrograde).

On a personal level, for many of us this second eclipse was realizations made and most possibly emotional outbursts that we were not able to control.

Now with this third eclipse, that is a New Moon, we will be pushed to make a re-start.

Potential to moving forward

LEO SOLAR ECLIPSE - 11 AUGUST 2018

The Solar Eclipse on the 11th of August takes place in Leo and is conjunct the North Node.

This is an aspect that has the potential of bringing intuitive awareness that will move us forward.

In the creative sign of Leo, this aspect with the North Node can work its best provided that we tune into our most noble and self-expressive qualities, detached from ego twists, and conceited mannerisms.

On the personal level we can work relationships with magnanimity and courtesy and bring about closure of past issues or crises which manifested under the influence of the previous Solar Eclipse.

On a mundane level, recent events make it all the more obvious that strong leadership qualities (Leo) and innovative coaching (Uranus ruling Aquarius) is needed in all forms of social and political interactions (Mars in Aquarius). Decisions and solutions are paramount. The times seem to be critical and the repercussions of this summer will be felt in the coming years.

However, both our personal adjustment as well as the integration of the eclipse’s energy into the social collective is a slow process.

LEO SOLAR ECLIPSE - 11 AUGUST 2018

Mercury squares Jupiter

The major aspect of the eclipse is the square of  the retrograde Mercury in Leo to planet Jupiter in Scorpio. This is an aspect that may express with exaggerations in communication, misjudgments and information overload.

On a personal level we have to be aware not to be obsessed or over passionate in debates and talks, to stay focused and to avoid misunderstandings.

On a mundane level it is a period that can lead to risky or misinformed decisions in senior ranks and to high volatility in stock exchanges.

LEO SOLAR ECLIPSE - 11 AUGUST 2018

The retrograde planets are dancing

Uranus has turned retrograde just four days prior to the eclipse and will continue to move backwards in apparent motion as seen from the Earth until January the 6th 2019 when it will reach 28° of Aries.

This is something very important because Uranus becomes the sixth consecutive planet that turns retrograde adding to the retro feeling of this summer.

The process of creating something out of this eclipses’ energy is slow.

Something new will come to be ONLY AFTER we have done our work with each and every one of the retrograde planets.

ONLY AFTER we have redefined where we stand.

With Uranus retrograde we have to look at things from a fresh perspective and re-define our personal truths. To embrace the new we have first to understand what holds us back whether this be a person, a job or ideas that no longer serve us.

Uranus retrograde process to shape our personal truth works very well with Neptune being retrograde also, because Neptune retrograde helps us to see with clarity and without idealizations. BUT in order to do so we have to first get rid of our personal delusions.

Saturn is also retrograde and we need to redefine our limits and to learn well the evolutionary or karmic lessons that it poses.

Pluto continues to be retrograde and the excavation of our soul is well underway. Pluto’s retrograde period is usually felt as a psychological process that seeks regeneration, purification and results in a healthy urge for survival.

Mars is retrograde and in a high energy state being out-of-bounds during all the eclipses, with his out-of-bounds movement peaking between 14th August and 19th of August, when Mars will reach an astounding declination of 26°29’ South of the ecliptic. Delays and frustration, anger management and redefining of actions is needed.

Mercury is retrograde since the previous eclipse in Aquarius and is also a key player in this eclipse since it is conjunct the two lights. How to form our personal truth and understand our best course of action when Mercury complicates things?

How will to reach to conclusions and make decisions or find solutions within this slow-moving bog of retrograde energy?

Uranus links this eclipse to the next one!

LEO SOLAR ECLIPSE - 11 AUGUST 2018

We astrologers see the big picture and understand the cycles.

Uranus has a major role in this summer eclipses, being in a square with Mars and making a 3 degree orb T-square with all the three eclipses Nodal Axis.

Uranus is the last planet in this dance of the retrogrades and its liberating energy will not be felt until it is direct again.

When it is that?

January the 6th 2019,

the very same day that the next eclipse occurs!

It is then, that this cycle of awakening will come to fruition with ideas, insights, liberating energy and manifestation of truth.

Additionally important to the fact that Uranus turns direct on the same day with the next eclipse, is the fact that the planet will once more tightly square the Nodal Axis of both of the winter eclipses .

It is as if these summer eclipses prepare us. They give us lessons and demand us to work with the retrograde planets so as we can be ready for the real changes (Uranus) that are about to come.

That is why this Solar Eclipse in Leo is pivotal.

Because it plays out as the last dress rehearsal with all of us the actors absorbing the script to its last detail prior to coming forth on the scene.

A trine aspect reaches its precision with this eclipse

Saturn in Capricorn, has been in an applying trine to Uranus in Taurus throughout the last weeks, and this aspect, with its liberating and grounding energy, comes to a precision of 0° 31’ in this last eclipse of the summer period.

This is the most helpful of all the aspects, since it allows us to manage the changes and the sudden events that resulted from the eclipses, in a responsible manner.

It gives a relative stability within the slow and demanding landscape.

A second trine aspect reaches its precision with this eclipse

Jupiter in Scorpio is trine to Neptune in Pisces, an aspect that gradually comes to a very close precision with this last eclipse, culminating on August the 19th.

This is a most benevolent aspect. A divide gift of hope and compassion. It is an aspect that can work as a “Deus ex Machina”, saving us at the last moment, granting hope, bringing gifts, spiritual awareness and increased Faith.

Sun drenched days are here again

This is the last eclipse of this long, hot summer and demands introspective work and re-evaluation to all areas pertaining to the retrograde planets.

Its energy is pivotal and has repercussions.

In the short-term, the Solar Eclipse in Leo of the 11th of August is slowly but firmly pushing us out of the bog and slowly builds on hope and a positive vision.

More importantly, it is a critical eclipse. It has a long-term effect and it prepares and grounds us for the shifting changes of the winter eclipses that hold a Uranian promise.

I wish you all ,to enjoy the last days of the summer drenched in Sun,

and the best to come,  from the marvelous Jupiter trine Neptune aspect.

LUNAR ECLIPSE 27 JULY 2018

LUNAR ECLIPSE IN AQUARIUS – 27 JULY 2018: Long Hot Summer – Part Two

Sharing is caring:

LUNAR ECLIPSE IN AQUARIUS – 27 JULY 2018

This summer is marked by three eclipses and many planets being retrograde during the eclipse season. The combination of these astrological factors is something that is relatively rare and it shapes an unpredictable, dynamic and hot landscape.

This eclipse is especially important for those who belong to the Signs of the Fixed Cross (Leo, Aquarius, Taurus, and Scorpio) and who are born between July 25 – 29, October 25 – 29, January 22 – 26 and April 22 – 26.  Also to those having personal planets or their Ascendant near the 01° – 06° degrees of these Signs.

PERSONAL ECLIPSE READING

Long Hot Summer – Part Two

The Lunar Eclipse of July 27th is the second of the three eclipses of this summer’s eclipse season. It occurs in the Sign of Aquarius and succeeds the Solar Eclipse in Cancer while it is to be followed by yet another Solar Eclipse in Leo.

In a sense, this eclipse raises the volume of the already loud Solar Eclipse in Cancer and becomes our emotional response to the events that have started to manifest. Under this Full Moon that is eclipsed, emotions are very, very tense.

An example that can demonstrate how this eclipse may work, if seen as a pair with the Solar Eclipse in Cancer, is:

Awareness of crisis in friendships or at home (triggered by the Solar Eclipse of July), heightens to overreaction and emotional outbursts that eventually affect our relations.

This lasts until at least the upcoming solar eclipse in Leo when we may find the courtly demeanour to talk things over.

The Lunar Eclipse of 27th of July takes place in Aquarius and the Moon, when is in this Sign, becomes detached and less emotional.

Combine these qualities with this particular eclipse’s conjunction of the Moon with the volatile Mars that is also in Aquarius, and unpredictability and tactless behaviour is something we cannot easily avoid.

With Aquarius Moon we may not be emotional in the sense of displaying passion or drama, but beware because under this eclipse, Aquarian cold-hearted and fixed emotional responses may prove more dangerous than the drama of a Fire Sign or the pathos of a Water Sign, and result in the breaking up of relationships and friendships.

I wrote some lines above that this second in a row eclipse, raises the volume.

One day before this Lunar Eclipse in Aquarius, Mercury has turned retrograde in Leo, adding one more retrograde planet in the mix. This means that misunderstandings that evolve drama may appear.

So either misunderstandings and drama or detached emotional coldness that may cut us off from important others. Are these really our only options?

The landscape is rocky

This Lunar Eclipse is characterized, unfortunately, by two very difficult astrological factors, since Mars retrograde is involved with the two Lights and a T-Square pattern is formed between Uranus, Mars and the eclipse.

Mars has being retrograde during the last month. The tension has reached a critical point. If we have done our homework and have wisely assessed what is worth fighting for, then a healthy outlet for the Mars explosive energy may be found

LUNAR ECLIPSE IN AQUARIUS – 27 JULY 2018

Mars Invictus – The Mars effect is strong in this eclipse

Take a look at the sky on the night of the eclipse. A little below the Moon you will see a glowing orange-red dot, that is Mars.

The planet is very close to the Earth as this is one of the closest Mars perihelic oppositions, with Mars brightness “around the time Earth sweeps between Mars and the sun outshining Jupiter by some 1.8 times”.

The exact opposition of Mars with the Sun occurs on July 27th  and coincides with the eclipse. Astrologically this means that the planet is already retrograde and that on the very day of the eclipse its energy will be felt more strongly, since it will be the most close to the Earth.

Mars is in the Sign of Aquarius, so any inner tension that is building may very well relate to how we assert our individuality. Mars is also conjunct the South Node, so we will feel the planet’s character in its raw manner, rather than experiencing a more refined expression of it.

Another factor that gives strength to Mars in this eclipse, is that the planet is also Out of Bounds from the 7th of July until the 27th of September, roaming high above the ecliptic.

This means UNPREDICTABLE behaviour and this Out of Bounds movement peaks between 14th August and 19th of August, when Mars will reach an astounding declination of 26°29’ South of the ecliptic!

The Mars – Uranus – Eclipse T-Square

Another difficult aspect that occurs with this eclipse is the square between Mars and Uranus that peaks on August the 2nd.

Mars already turbo charged by all the factors I have mentioned, is meeting electric Uranus in a tense aspect that has eruptive qualities.

And as if this is not enough, all this energy is falling upon the Moon and the Sun, with Mars conjunct the Moon and opposition to the Sun, and Uranus in a square aspect to all players.

What happens with this particular eclipse is that Mars is simultaneously having multiple astrological qualities that make the planet express its aggressive nature to the most.

So…

What is IMPPORTANT during this eclipse

  • Choose what is worth fighting for.
  • Swallow our pride especially when quarrels or misunderstandings erupt.
  • Try to be flexible. All the charged energy that the eclipse is having is expressed in fixed signs and as a result make us immovable and stubborn.
  • Ease out. Release the tension. Find ways for an outlet of all pent-up emotions because it is very easy they suddenly erupt.
  • Remember that irritability is a part of the whole equation. We cannot avoid it. We must patiently accept it and wait until it passes.
  • Avoid contradiction and reactionary behavior.
  • Show affection and love and not become cold, objective, harsh and tactless.
  • We are very cautious to avoid injuries and minor accidents.

Let the retrograde planets work in our favor

This is the most difficult eclipse of this long, hot summer and occurs within an environment of five planets being retrograde (Mercury, Mars, Saturn, Neptune, Pluto).

Introspective work and re-evaluation to all areas pertaining to the retrograde planets will be of great help.

To tap into the energy of the Saturn trine Uranus aspect that lasts all summer, will be beneficial also.

This is hot summer days and long summer nights… One more eclipse to go.

May 2018 New Moon in Taurus

TAURUS NEW MOON – 15 MAY 2018: Shake at the Foundations

Sharing is caring:

May 2018 New Moon in Taurus

The New Moon takes place in 24°and 36’ of the Earth Sign of Taurus. It strongly affects Taurus and Scorpio Signs and also Aquarius and Leo Signs which are born in the third decan, as well as those having personal planets, points or their Ascendant, near the 22° -26° degrees of the Fixed Cross.

Especially with this particular New Moon, the square aspect between Mars and Uranus affects those who have planets or horoscope points at 29° of Cardinal Signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn) or 0° of the Fixed Signs (Taurus, Leo, Scorpions, Aquarius).

A very original New Moon is taking place in the Sign of Taurus on May 15th.

The astrological symbolism of the New Moon has to do with the start of a new cycle that begins as two different principles, that of our conscious will (symbolized by the Sun), and that of our unconscious drives (symbolized by the Moon), meet together.

This merging of the two principles marks the perfect time to begin things as the one will drive the other.

When the New Moon happens in the Sign of Taurus the time is ideal for growing on a solid foundation, for planting the seed for the future, for firmly setting out building your security. For example enterprising endeavors are favored when the New Moon is in Taurus.

The Sign is grounded. Firm and stolid in its calmness.

Taurus. Calm, peace and harmony right?  Very nice, very nice, very nice…

…but NOT with this New Moon.

This is the most atypical Taurus New Moon that we shall encounter for a long, long time.

The chart of this New Moon in Taurus is very similar to the chart of an astrological event of great importance that happens less than four hours after this lunation. If you look at the chart you can observe that Uranus is at 29°59’, upon the very last minute of the very last degree of the Sign of Aries.

This New Moon coincides with the entrance of Uranus, the planet of change and de-stabilization into the Sign of Taurus.

How fitting the new moon symbolism now becomes. A new period of Uranus in Taurus begins as this New Moon happens.

So, there goes the stability of this New Moon…

Uranus is not only with one foot inside the Taurean territory, but also it receives a very tight square from Mars placed at 29°43’ of the Sign of Capricorn.

The exact of this aspect happens the next day after the new moon, with the two planets changing Signs simultaneously, and forming the square from 00°02′ degrees of Taurus & Aquarius.

This is first of the three successive square aspects that the two planets will be forming, with the second one culminating on August the 2nd and the third on September the 19th.

How fitting is the new moon symbolism again. A cycle of three squares between Mars and Uranus, in Aquarius – Taurus respectively, begins as this New Moon happens.

This electrifying square is associated with instability, impulsiveness, rushed excitement, reckless action, sudden jolted reactions, revolutionary drive, assertion that shocks, boldness and impatience, bursts of anger, accident proneness, tension and ego drive.

So, there goes the calmness of this New Moon…

One more entrance.

Mars enters Aquarius a few hours after this New Moon. From Aquarius, a Sign ruled by Uranus, and at the same time in a square aspect with Uranus, Mars brings once more the Uranian – Aquarian motif into the earth Sign of Taurus.

So, there goes the firm ground of this New Moon….

The chart of the New Moon has six planets in earth Signs but the energy that Uranus brings is intense. The square with Mars is tight, the degrees are critical, the Uranian motif is repeated.

This New Moon is not about planting seeds and waiting patiently for them to grow.

It is not about building security.

The May 2018 New Moon in Taurus is about us

beginning to prepare for the upcoming changes.

It is a trailer of what is to come as the cycle of eclipses in the Leo – Aquarius axis is approaching.

It is the pre-seismic activity before the foundational shake.

The balance has shifted, a new paradigm shift is forming in the following months and this New Moon in Taurus is the introductory chapter of the “Manual of Change”.

Some of the questions that this New Moon in Taurus poses are:

  • How can we maintain inner peace within a de-stabilizing period?
  • How can we build and enhance on our material resources while the very landscape is changing?
  • How we can align needs and will, in an ingenious and innovative approach that does not undermine what we have up to now held as familiar giving us a sense of security?
  • How to tap on creativity, emotional stamina and stay focused with will power towards our goals -all traits of the chart of this New Moon but shadowed by the intensity of the Uranus and Mars energy?

The characteristics of the Taurus Sign hold the answers to these and other similar questions that may arise:

  • Amidst the Uranian shakes, we try to remain calm in our center, open and ready to embrace change.
  • We try to remain a placid Taurus and to not act with the impulsiveness of the Mars – Uranus square.
  • We sense the electrifying vibes and absorb the surge of energy with laid back detachment.
  • We understand that the new security is to dare to deconstruct the familiar and then rebuilt it in a new form.

Such is the nature of the processes that this New Moon sets forth for us. And if they may sound vague, abstract or too difficult to attain, please have in mind that,

…what was once a shocking modernity, it is today’s classic art.

Find out where the New Moon falls in your chart and heed its lessons.
