A karmic, focal, dynamic, challenging, transformative but also regenerative and Sacred New Moon takes place on July 17 at 24°56′ Cancer. It is a powerful and complex Moon which occurs in parallel with significant other astrological circumstances and within a very powerful network of aspects.

But first things first.

The New Moon in Cancer is ideal for setting your intentions. To plant a seed. A new intention that starts from your center, from the deepest parts of your core and that you need to nurture so that it can grow. An intention that encompasses you and those you love and which as it grows will return even more care and protection back to you.

This New Moon is also an awareness of the positive qualities you have within yourself, which if externalized would create a protective web of light around you. Qualities such as protection, ability to nurture, to understand, to love, to care, to show tenderness.

 

Memories will come with this New Moon. Your intuition will be heightened. Psychic abilities are accentuated and you can discern subtle and imperceptible changes in the energy field around you.

Feelings of others, vibes, sensations of the place, impressions of everything, which you experience and feel yourself.

You are in the center. Follow your inner voice.

 

Pluto in Capricorn is in opposition to the New Moon. That’s why it’s dynamic and transformative.

Because in order for the seed to grow you need to clear the ground. Blockages, power plays, jealousies, toxicity are what you need to root out of your emotional landscape and start cultivating the positive qualities I mentioned above.

You may face such behaviors within relationships and partnerships but you can easily overcome them as long as you are in the mood for a fresh start and not in the mood to retaliate and persist in the wrongdoings but rather by remaining strong, at your center!

Your sensitivity is your strength!

 

This is a pivotal point at which the New Moon occurs. Less than two hours after this Moon, the Moon’s Nodes change Signs and move to the Aries – Libra Axis.

A transition that changes the themes of relationships for the next 18 months, and says – among other things – that evolution has to do with having the right balance between individualism and cooperation with others, and that compromising to please others or being aggressive and seeing things only from your own perspective… is not evolving.

This New Moon opens the curtain of the nodal transition, and karmically invites us to make a balanced and correct management between “I” and “We” for the coming months.

Tenderly and from our center. Otherwise the result will be emotional stress and radical changes we won’t like.

 

This New Moon is dynamic, but fortunately its aspect to Pluto and the Lunar Nodes is not the tightest aspect.

A beautiful sextile that Uranus in Taurus makes with the two lights gives opportunities for change and renewal. Originality of expression. Pure emotions. Feeling deep inside what is your truth. It is boldness for the new. It is “Eureka” and enthusiasm for the seed you want to sow, for the new that you want to be, for the new that you want to feel!

It’s an aspect that in an unexpected way can present you with opportunities you didn’t expect, or bring you sudden ideas and solutions!

But THE MOST IMPORTANT aspect I leave for the end.

This is the wonderful trine that the two lights receive from Neptune in Pisces, which is the MOST TIGHT ASPECT in the chart of the New Moon in Cancer.

It is a trine which gives great potential for your prayers to become true. To plant your seed, with love and selflessness, and to taste the fruits of the materialization of your wishes. To lay the foundations of your dream. To grow with more intuition, with more creativity, with more empathy.

Neptune, which is simultaneously in a sextile aspect to Pluto, practically acts as a helping hand in the opposition of Pluto with the two lights and serves as an outlet from the pressure.

The heightened intuition of Cancer in which the New Moon occurs, the spirituality and inspiration that Neptune brings, and the ease of changing perspective and perception that Uranus brings, are elements that can make this New Moon a very important springboard indeed.

A magical and beautiful full moon takes place on January 7 in the sign of Cancer. The Moon is at 16°21′ Cancer and is illuminated by the Sun opposite it at the same degree of Capricorn.

With the Moon in the sign of Cancer, the goal is always to meet our emotional needs and feel safe. We need hugs, emotional care, nourishment of soul and body.

The Sun is opposite the sign of Capricorn and the point of the full moon is to be able to align our goals and ambitions so that we can get the desired outcome without compromising our security. And to find a way to make it all happen in a practical and organized way.

The aspects are extraordinary(!) and it is as if the moonlight is showing us the way.

Whether it’s a matter of security within our relationships, or our issue has to do with balance between commitments and professional issues with family, or whether we feel the need to communicate how we are feeling and receive back the affirmation and care we need, or whether we long to feel more fulfilment in everything we do by accomplishing goals and ambitions… the way will be revealed.

What is needed is a balance between the two, and it helps us with this to turn our thoughts away from the voice in our head that is judgmental and constantly finding difficulties, and just look at the practical matters and how we organize our movements to do what our heart calls us to do.

What we want and why we want it is clear. We feel it. We can listen to our feelings. Our intuition speaks to us correctly.

Uranus in Taurus makes a beautiful sextile to the Moon, that helps to see the truth of our feelings. It fills us with excitement for the new. It is an aspect that helps in making decisions freely and based on our truth.

It also makes a trine aspect to the Sun and Mercury so helping us with inventiveness, fresh ideas and a willingness to go with the flow, loosely, naturally and effortlessly.

With the combination of these aspects made by Uranus in Taurus with the two lights, this full moon can also bring unexpected, and unexpected positive events, e.g., suddenly finding a house to rent, the first thing that comes to mind.

Another beautiful aspect is the trine and sextile that Neptune in Pisces forms to the Moon and Sun respectively. Yes, on one hand the universe brings smooth change and on the other it fills us with inspiration, intuition, faith and hope for the best.

A complex New Moon in Cancer takes place on June 29.

The New Moon takes place with the Lights and two planets (Jupiter and Venus) at degree seven, all forming a small learning triangle between four Zodiac signs. Because this New Moon is particularly complicated and multi-faceted, I have chosen to describe in a more symbolic way the issues it will bring to the fore and the energies it carries.

 

Looking at her chart is like seeing a tapestry of disconnected images, but all painted by the hand and imagination of a single artist.

It’ s about everything that has to do with feminine principle and motherhood. It’ s a sensitive and wild moon. It has exuberance and a fighting spirit as well as intense introversion.

She harbors anger in her Mars square Pluto but she also wants to be nurturing. She involves the clash of the feminine principle which is full of intuition with the masculine force of brute will.

It’s dreamy and nightmarish at the same time. She has love hidden in the whispers of the night for only those few who would keep their ears open.

The central image is that of a pregnant woman. She’s in her 7 month and she protectively wraps her arms around her bulging belly, since every New Moon in Cancer is about motherhood and nurturing. The woman feels so strongly the need to protect the life she carries inside her, that she will not hesitate to defend her baby’s life if it is in danger.

Next to her is an image of a Black Madonna and on the other side is a half-naked warrior woman who wears the skulls of dead enemies around her waist like a belt. These are images of the dark Lilith, which in conjunction with the New Moon symbolizes two opposing energies at the same time.

On the one hand she is the emancipated Woman and Mother who does not submit to social norms or to male patronage, but who defies every authority that tries to control her. It is the hidden power that every Woman has inside her when she feels her baby is threatened and that can transform her within seconds into a fearless fighter ready for anything.

On the other hand, Lilith is the raw feminine force who, in her attempt to throw off submission, and in the name of her liberation, can choose to reject motherhood and the traditional feminine roles altogether, turning to an unconventional lifestyle that is unruly.

Jupiter square the New Moon exaggerates the feminine energies. Everything takes on a dramatic, hypersensitive character. A woman’s tear joins the cry of a baby, every need is overemphasized.

You crave at once to feel cared for and safe, as you feel so unprotected that you can break…

On the other hand, you thirst to feel the power of the allure of your unbridled Lilith side of you, as you feel her calling…

A priest leads a small crowd of young women. In his hand he holds a banner with the number 7 on it, and he seeks a place worthy and sacred to protect the women.

The women are 7, dressed in long cloth dresses, and in their hands they each hold a small vial of essential oils. They draw the eyes of the men as they walk and they exchange brief words with them, a little on the sly, a bit flippantly.

Their inner conflict is whether to stay in their emotional shell, traditionally seeking security in a future family, versus daring to leave the procession and enjoy the fun and flirtation that interaction with the outside world offers.

This New Moon takes you to the past…

The influence of this particular Full Moon is most pronounced for the Signs of the Cardinal Cross, Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn, who are born in the 3rd decan, and more specifically for those of you born between January 16-20, April 16-20, July 18-22, and October 19-23. Also, for those of you who have personal planets or horoscope angles at degrees 25°- 29° of the above Signs.

Tonight we will have the opportunity to see a bright moon, a Full Moon in Cancer, with its light falling in noir hues, casting shadows and creating contrasts between light and darkness.

It is symbolically fitting to compare this moon to a black and white noir film, because Pluto is the planet that makes the key aspects as it is conjunct the Sun and at the same time in opposition to the Moon.

A descent into the Underworld and a conversation with Hades it is, as we have been feeling the emotional charge for a few days now and are already facing our Shadow…

The Moon in Cancer is looking for tenderness and affection in her relationships. She wants to offer, nurture, and share anxieties, emotion, concerns and express her need for hugs and care. A provider and receiver of emotional care at the same time, she fills us with a willingness to give but also makes us feel vulnerable at the same time as giving means losing a part of yourself.

Opposite her, the Sun in Capricorn is conjunct Pluto. In a sign polar to the Moon, she is filled with a sense of purpose, seeks achievement and indifferent to sentimentality and sensitivities aims for practical issues and solutions.

Empowered by Pluto, the Sun coats his pursuits with determination and drive at best, or conversely with raw zeal and a desire to prevail at worst. Before his will, he does not account for any sensitivity and acts in an interest-based and benefit-driven manner.

Pressed is the Moon, that is, our emotions, from this polarity, and we feel like Persephone, forced by fate to live with Hades and experience the dark side of others or of ourselves.

Our relationships become mirrors. Not distorting mirrors but mirrors in the Abyss of the Soul where no one dives, and the mirrors show us the dark sides, our own and of others’.

eflect a little… in the end it doesn’t matter whether the shadow is ours or the other person’s, since every relationship is an organism with its own life, and what one feels is a result of what the other emits.

Nevertheless, we must take a good look in the mirror and see our own form and our own Shadow. There in the darkness probably lies the key to coming back to the surface easily.

Yes that’s kind of how it is and this Full Moon brings tensions in relationships. It creates feelings of insecurity. It brings up issues of power. It creates fears and addictive behaviors.

In its good scenario and depending on how aware one is, it is a good opportunity for introspection. To walk the dark alleys of the Soul, to explore and understand passions, complexes, automatic behaviours, what oppresses us and why we oppress.

An opportunity to unearth all the buried secrets and come into reconciliation with the undercurrents of the soul. For these undercurrents on the one hand create the turmoil on the surface, but on the other hand, if known and harnessed, they are one’s own Power and one’s Psychic reserves.

So instead of giving into obsessions, entrenched attitudes, jealousies, power games, and attempts to avoid or even justify selfish behaviors, let us face our Shadow and renew our way of thinking.

This is the key we will find in our wanderings. A new way of thinking and perceiving that can transform and change us and our relationships for the better.

And astrologically this key is found in the planet Uranus.

It is stationary and ready to go direct, strongly throwing its energy of change and renewal into our way of thinking.

Uranus at the end of its own revision path, by going direct, gives us the opportunity to apply what we have learned about what is truly liberating and what is our healthy self-expression.

As during this Full Moon Uranus is square to Mercury – which is already retrograde and has begun its own mental introspection, it pushes us to initially come into conflict with ourselves, but to be able to see things differently in the end.

So, let’s let ourselves first experience the Shadows that will affect our relationships, which is inevitable with this Full Moon in Cancer, and after the emotional charge is over let’s then see things clearly and with a new eye.
