A New Moon takes place on June 18, 2023 at 26°43′ of the Gemini Sign.

 

It affects us all regardless of our Zodiac sign and according to the house in which it falls in our astrological chart.

It especially affects GEMINI, SAGITTARIUS, VIRGO, PISCES, TAURUS, SCORPIO, LEO and AQUARIUS persons who are born within the last five days of their Zodiac Sign or those of you who have a personal planet or your Ascendant between 25°00′ – 29°59′ in the above Signs.

 

Like every New Moon, this is a Moon that brings realizations and marks a beginning or a reboot. As it takes place in the Sign of Gemini it marks a new cycle where messages, communication and conversations will play an important role.

But this New Moon takes place within a net of significant aspects that add a completely different meaning to all the above. Neptune in Pisces forms a square aspect to the Two Lights. The feeling is imaginary. Emotions are deceptive. There is a strong tendency to communicate but there are also some thoughts… secret thoughts.

The Gemini Sign easily starts conversations or sends messages and does so with quite a playful and light-hearted attitude in an exchange of words that is more like flirting or playing. As Neptune squares the Lights, it is easy to understand why texting ignites thoughts that are private. Hidden. Imagined.

Our judgment becomes clouded, and we are unable to clearly discern our choices. We seem like we want something different but we’re not sure what it is or how to achieve it. Disappointments will not be absent, so we need to be prepared for events and situations to not be what they seem.

 

There are dilemmas caused by this New Moon which also happens to be in CONJUNCTION with Asteroid Hera (Juno). The Asteroid is at 27°31′ Gemini and is also getting a close square from Neptune.

Hera (Juno) is the archetype of the wife, the venerable and socially acceptable married partner and is astrologically associated with the institution of marriage and married life. One could say that with this New Moon, the conjugal lady starts having second thoughts about her marriage and is seduced by messages she receives or by her own deceptive expectations.

But it is not only this that is setting a backdrop that will have a strong impact on marriages and relationships.

Two other equally IMPORTANT Asteroids are in opposition to each other, located at 28° of their Sign. This means they make close aspects to the New Moon, and to Neptune and to Hera (Juno).

 

Asteroid Hestia (Vesta) from 28°03′ Taurus is in opposition to Asteroid Cupido at 28°21 Scorpio – Cupido is one of the most important asteroids I am studying for erotic affairs and is associated with infatuation or lust for the object of our desire.

Opposite Cupido is Hestia (Vesta), which symbolizes the Sacred House, the Home and the unquenchable flame of family warmth. The symbolism is obvious since the safety and peace of the family home is threatened by the desire-filled Scorpionic infatuation and erotic obsession.

Add to this the fact that the above opposition makes divisive and ambivalent aspects on the New Moon and Hera (Juno), while making beautiful sextile and trine formations with deceptive Neptune, and a fantasy romance combined with erotic desire easily compose a landscape in which issues of fidelity or… infidelity(!) in relationships appear to trouble us.

 

Add to the mix the fact that Venus and Mars are conjunct, and will keep getting closer to each other, in the fiery Sign of Leo, which craves attention, and we understand that relationships, thoughts, thoughts, faith, infidelity, infatuation, flirtation, courtship, communication, secret or overt, and an intense erotic desire all become an intertwined tangle…

Whether the temptation comes from outside or emerges as a plausible choice because one is in a relationship that has been disappointing him or her lately, here is a New Moon that will test relationships and marriages as a deceptive veil of doubt and a longing to experience something different makes our choices blurred and brings dilemmas.

 

New connections for those who are single that may arise will be seemingly promising, but on closer inspection they will prove to be different from what they appear to be…

Also be careful about anything you want to initiate with this New Moon and would suggest you’d better take some more time before jumping into it so you can better measure it.

Take time as Saturn turns retrograde TOGETHER with the New Moon and when Saturn moves retrograde it brings up Karmic lessons for what we need to review or reconsider.

 

This is a PARTICULARLY complex New Moon that while on one hand will entice us, on the other hand it can lead us to important and profound realizations and ultimately allow us to make good decisions or productive new beginnings in our lives in a second year.

A Full Moon filled with tension and frustration takes place on December 8.

Each Full Moon is a culmination of events that began with the preceding New Moon and brings to light realizations since it invites us to see our emotions clearly and to align them with the external situations.

The Moon is in the sign of Gemini and the challenge is to express how we feel. Feelings blurred -that are the result of thinking and analysis, choices, and dilemmas come to the forefront now.

Our psyche fragile and sensitive from conversations, words and conversations that were said in previous days, seeks safety in understanding the how and the why.

We want to overcome whatever is holding us back and robbing us of our freedom, our carefree spirit, and our truth becomes important. We believe that through telling it, communicating it, we can give others the big picture and make them understand it.

But with Mars being in retrograde and conjunct the Moon this is not easy as our mind, confused and tired from overanalyzing our emotions, cannot discern clearly.

Resentment, bitterness, and frustration because things are not flowing and are not as we envision them are boiling in the background.

With Mars in Gemini both retrograde and out of bounds we will recall past and forgotten things that have hurt us and there is a risk of becoming provocative. Mercury is also out of bounds in Capricorn and becomes cynical and critical.

We are impulsive and ready to talk in the heat of the moment, and conversations are all too easy to turn into arguments and fights.

We have a vulnerable, fragile psyche. We feel unprotected and naked, as the trine and sextile that Chiron in Aries forms to the Moon and Sun acts like a double-edged sword.

It takes a lot of patience and a lot of wisdom to be able to manage this vulnerability, because if it is expressed with the anticipation that others will understand it and embrace it, and they don’t, then the wounded beast within us will awaken, resulting in even more wounds.

 

“Words like violence, break the silence, come rushing in, words are meaningless, they can only do harm” goes a line from a song that urges us to enjoy the silence.

 

With Mars retrograde what is needed is to turn inward instead of giving in to the impulse to speak.

We need to choose with greater thought which battles we wish to fight and whether it makes sense to do it now, since under the energy of this Moon the issues we will touch upon can easily get out of hand and generalizations said will add more fuel to the fire and inflame anger.

We need to be careful what we say and call on the patience and moderation that Mercury in Capricorn has when expressed in its positive qualities.

Mercury is the ruler of the Full Moon and dispositor of Mars and everything will be decided precisely by the management of our thoughts and words. But this takes effort as well, since Mercury is square Jupiter in Pisces and… it is not easily contained.

A difficult full moon and it requires caution also in driving as all the tension will also manifest on the roads and traffic. It also needs caution in communication with siblings, relatives and neighbors and also in the information we pass on so as not to expose and be exposed.

Some help to the explosive energy of the full moon may be coming from the trine and sextile it forms to Saturn in Aquarius, but also, in my astrological opinion, through the square it forms to Neptune.

The aspects to Saturn can work to stabilize, and temper tension as long as we rein in our emotions, act more mature, with a sense of responsibility, and with our wants clear. But… with an objective to realize those same wants in the future; later, and specifically either in late January or early March, not at the present. Not today. So be patient…

The aspect to Neptune can work positively if we channel all our inner tension into something creative.

Also with this aspect we can consciously choose to remain in a temporal inertia, in surrendering to the fatigue of events and situations, in accepting that things continue to be unclear, and do this as being preferable over opening discussions and trying to find the truth, in a landscape that for the next two weeks will remain, blurred, fluid and changing.

It requires prudence with no rush and no risks, for TAURUS, LEO, SCORPIO and AQUARIUS persons, born in the middle of the third decanate, or for those of you who have personal planets or angles in your Horoscope, near the degrees 25°-27° of the above Zodiac signs.

This Moon in Gemini is pristine, it’s intact, it’s clear. It is completely pure in its energy and while it is quiet, it is simultaneously very vocal and has a clear message.

Aldebaran is associated with the energy of Mars and the Archangel Michael and according to astrological theory it brings intelligence, fame, glory, dignity, courage, honours and riches although due to its dynamic nature, it requires prudence in order that they last.

 

The New Moon occurs in tandem with Jupiter’s very energetic conjunction with Mars in Aries.

A conjunction ideal for new beginnings, for courage, for initiative, for determination and victories!

A conjunction that as it also magnifies the negative qualities of Mars might also mean easiness for anger, belligerence, making us reckless, brash, or even quick to take excessive risks.

But notice how the energy of the conjunction matches the description for the fixed star Aldebaran.

They are both energies of glorious, dynamic beginnings, of initiative, still both needing caution and thoughtfulness.

And this is where the position of Mercury, which is also the ruler of this New Moon, comes in and matches the above perfectly.

Retrograde in Taurus and on the degree of the lunar eclipse of May 16, it again confronts us with the issues that arose with this eclipse.

And being retrograde, Mercury also warns us to be cautious, prudent, and to weigh situations well. Especially since Mercury is on the fixed star Algol and activates another eclipse, that of November 19, 2021!

How much power is hidden in this New Moon! It’s a crystal Talisman.

 

To sum up.

We have a New Moon that has a clear message, which can be intuitive. A message arriving out of nowhere and heard within us as a voice, as a flash of awareness.

The message, awareness, or new thing that this New Moon brings clearly has the quality of advancement and renewal.

The energy of something new is intense, clear and charged with freshness. This New Moon has the potential to bring about results as well as success, since it has the ” blessings” and the favor from Aldebaran, but also the drive and the momentum of the Jupiter-Mars conjunction.

So something is starting to happen after the eclipses, but it still needs attention and caution because while Mercury remains retrograde, the internal revisions we are making are not yet fully completed, or there are delays due to external factors.

That is until the inertia and clinginess of Mercury retrograde from Taurus is over, and the versatility of thinking is back when Mercury in Gemini is again in direct motion.

That’s where things will finally start to get rolling.

That’s why this New Moon in Gemini is a contradiction like all Geminis, as it is full of dynamic energy without being a start right away.

The Full Moon takes place at 00°and 52’ of the Gemini Sign. It strongly affects Gemini and Sagittarius Signs and also Pisces and Virgo Signs which are born in the first days, as well as those having personal planets, points or their Ascendant, near the 00° – 02° degrees of the Mutable Cross.

The proximity of the Full Moon to the last degrees of the Fixed Cross affects also Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius persons that are born in the last 2 days of their Sign, or those hose having personal planets, points or their Ascendant, near the 28°-29° degrees of the Fixed Cross.

A Full Moon in Gemini is taking place on the night of the 22nd towards the early morning of November the 23rd.

When the Moon is in Gemini we are expressing of our needs. We feel, we remember, we think. Nostalgia and emotions turns into words. We intellectually tune with the emotional self and now it is the proper time for all this heightened emotional sensitivity to be expressed.

With the Sun in Sagittarius opposing the moon in Gemini these needs are highlighted, thoughts are rationalized and become aims and expectations. Expectations of a higher nature, desires of a self that is yearning to learn and be wise.

At least, this would be the ideal scenario for a Full Moon in Gemini, but unfortunately it is not the case with this Full Moon. A Full Moon that takes place within a grid of planetary energies and aspects that bring excesses and overreactions.

First of all the ruler of the Full Moon, Mercury in the Sign of Sagittarius, is retrograde. This at its best makes our thoughts to turn introspective. We try to find our inner truth and contemplate on matters silently.

At its worst, Mercury’s placement in the Sign of Sagittarius makes us highly opinionated. Judgmental and sticking to doctrine. We think that our truth is the only truth and we tend to glibly express it.

As if this tendency for bluntness was not enough, Jupiter is also conjunct to Mercury retrograde. The mind reels in its inward thinking process, contemplating so many things, and as it strives to assimilate everything into an objective truth, it jumps to overstatements and exaggerations.

We therefore have to be very careful with WHAT we say and HOW we say it.

 

Mercury is also square to Neptune in Pisces.

Our judgment is clouded. A mist lingers on the tracks of the unceasing train of thoughts. We cannot think clearly, the mind detaches and loses its objective footholds, sliding to fantasy land, daydreaming.

Under this hazy landscape we may be the victims of misconceptions or be deceived. We have to be very careful in all matters that require precision of thought and clear judgment, and it is better to delay decisions till later.

 

Jupiter is also conjunct the Sun and opposing the Moon.

Though the first aspect brings optimism, generosity, and enthusiasm, the opposition with the Moon, especially now that the moon is full in a polarity that highlights our emotional needs, brings overwhelming sentimentality.

Remember that under a full moon emotions are always tense.  The Jupiter conjunct Sun enthusiasm in its heart entails an overestimated confidence in ourselves and our abilities. A faith in us that may turn out to be just a result of cloudy judgment (Mercury Rx square Neptune) and that will make us not to know where we stop.

We have to be careful not to be deceived out of sheer faith in the good intentions of others.

When planet Mars is in the Sign of Pisces, and does not make enough harmonious aspects so as to channel its energy with creativity or compassion, it usually expresses in a passive – aggressive way. It may even express with non-action, preferring to let things to take their own course. It is lack of will and indecisiveness towards specific action.

As the apex planet of this T-Square, Mars is gathering the energy of the planets involved in the following aspects and possible manifestations of its energy are:

  • Mars square to Moon: We may be oversensitive and easily hurt. adopting the role of the martyr. On its assertive way the aspect may bring anger and emotional frustration.
  • Sun square to Mars: We may act impulsively, assert our ego ten times more than necessary fueled by zeal and intolerance. On its passive expression, with this aspect we may adopt an impasse “Laissez faire, laissez passer” inertia.
  • Mercury square to Mars. Disagreements and verbal confrontations may rise out of us not taking action! Others may interpret our waiting inactivity or silence, as something negative. Misjudgments and cloudy thinking may make us angered and we project this to our relations with important others.
  • Mars square to Jupiter: Impulsive actions, carelessness or recklessness due to overconfidence. On its passive expression it is an aspect of blunders and waste of energy. It may also be spiritual and philosophical disagreements. Even awkward expression of sexuality that is infused with semi-romanticism and hesitance.

Mars from Pisces squaring the Full Moon is intense emotional charge without a clear outlet. It may bring passive anger that eventually manifests psychosomatically.

The only aspect that can somehow clear the ground and bring focus and determination is Mars sextile Saturn.

The challenge of this Full Moon in Gemini is that it is a perplexed mix of wasted energy and exaggeration.

While it highlights our need to communicate, our very message is something that becomes really difficult to come through, within the above landscape where clarity of thought and direction of will is lacking. Boisterous, we may overestimate ourselves or say words that we’d better not.
