LUNAR ECLIPSE IN SCORPIO MAY 2022

The Lunar Eclipse takes place in the Sign of Scorpio, and is of special importance for ALL Zodiac signs, as each eclipse marks an evolutionary point for everyone.

It is especially difficult for Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius persons, especially those who have personal planets or horoscope angles between 23°-27° degrees.

Challenging for Pisces, Scorpio, Cancer, Virgo and Capricorn Signs, requiring faith and calmness.

It demands readjustments and a change of attitude for Aries, Gemini, Libra, and Sagittarius.

A very difficult Lunar Eclipse in Scorpio takes place on May 15th or May 16th, depending on where you are in the world, which fills us with gloom and pessimism.

It is a critical eclipse that will surely distress us since our sense of security will be largely determined by our maturity and patience in dealing with situations.

Macbeth, Act 2, Scene 1

There’s a well-known line in Shakespeare’s Macbeth, in the scene where Macbeth is walking in the night, and hearing the sound of the castle bell echoing grimly, he monologues:

“I go and it is done. The bell calls me.

Don’t listen to it Duncan, for it is a sound that calls you to Heaven or Hell.”

The lunar eclipse in Scorpio has the same dark and grim mood as the bell Macbeth hears. The bell is tolling and depending on our reactions our path will be more or less difficult.

There are some helpful and positive aspects in the Eclipse chart but one thing is for sure, we will first have to go through the Darkness before we can come out into the Light again.

Saturn in Aquarius has been square to the Moon’s Nodes for some time now, and will continue to be for some time to come. From this position it calls us to act with responsibility and maturity, and to make choices where there is no room for excessive sentimentality or excessive rationalization.

In particular in this eclipse, Saturn is in addition in a tight square to the two Lights and its message is like the bell that Macbeth hears. So let us listen carefully, for its chime leads us down one of two paths:

One path leads to emotional stress and disappointment caused by our inability to deal with responsibilities in our relationship. It brings emotional detachment, coldness, sadness and pessimism. – This path is the dark night of the soul and we don’t want to take it.    IT IS NOT AN OPTION.

The other path leads to integrity and maturity. It requires patience and hard work, especially in how we respond to the emotional needs of our loved ones.

It is a difficult second path, through a dark tunnel, and along the way we need to understand what it is that really makes us feel safe. As we walk to the exit we need to have a clear understanding of the bigger picture for the future and to address our fears.

But this is very difficult with Mercury, the planet that characterizes all functions of thought and communication, retrograde, and also conjunct the Sun and in opposition to the Moon.

So great care is needed in what we say and how we say it because the Mercury-Moon opposition makes it difficult to express ourselves and can lead us to communicating our feelings in completely the wrong way, as the emotional strain is intense and we are under pressure.

It is preferable to take advantage of the introverted energy of this eclipse to better understand our own motivations, our own obsessions. Where we are possessive, why we are filled with fears and where our peace lies.

The tranquillity of Taurus, and not the complexity of Scorpio, is the aim of this eclipse.

We need to understand that a requirement of emotional security is TRUST, whereas in contrast, the dark brooding of insecurity only brings about further emotional suffocation and grows the Shadows…

Chiron conjunct Venus at 14° Aries is the healing power of Love shining like a star waiting for us on the way out.

But it’s also the bittersweet trauma of insecurity that we carry along the way…

Aiding the energy of the eclipse, the Mars-Neptune conjunction from the sign of Pisces acts like the lantern that lights our way through the dark tunnel. It is a conjunction that in trine – sextile to the Moon’s Nodes reminds us how crucial it is not to be impulsive, but to let go guided with our intuition.

It asks us to believe that the Universe is watching our back. Only in this way can material and emotional insecurities disappear.

Mars conjunct Neptune is the counterbalance to the phobias expressed by Saturn as it touches the Nodes with a square. It is Zen contemplation. To let ourselves go with the flow. It is FAITH to DARE to go towards our dream, to go towards our destiny.

So, as we hear the bell of this eclipse, we know that we will go down a dark path.

Let us dispel the Shadows cast by the negative manifestations of the Scorpio – Taurus axis with the Light cast by the lantern of inspiration, by the Light of our intuition. Let them dispelled by the Light of a determination that is not shaken by hesitation, that has Faith, and that empathizes.

Jupiter from the first-first degree of Aries promises a New Beginning after this Eclipse.

A beginning that will come… sooner or later. But that will come.

And the next, very favorable New Moon on May 30, promises the same as well.

Until then… keep the lantern bright.

FULL MOON IN TAURUS – OCTOBER 31, 2020

The Full Moon Chaos Of The Unholy Night

By astrologer, Andrew Ifandis

A difficult Full Moon takes place in the sign of Taurus on October 31, 2020.

A Full Moon is a point of culmination. It usually marks a time when processes or events that have begun two weeks before with the New Moon are now reaching their climax.

This is why under the Full Moon we are usually charged with tension. Now either what started then is completed, or we clearly see what is lacking, what needs to be corrected, what is wrong. and we are called to re-adjust our actions or our attitude. Now we are called, in the light of the revelations brought by the Full Moon, to change our attitude, our actions or our own course.

With the full moon in Taurus on October 31st, the tension we feel arises from the contradiction between our need to be emotionally safe, in practical and simple terms, on the one hand …

… and from our strong desire to change and experience intense situations as we are attracted by the complex, or the dark, or the deep and rich emotional stimulation … on the other.

It is a tension that we ourselves cause, as we are attracted

by the dark call of the Night of Souls.

But the exact opposite may also be true.

Confusion and uncertainty come to the fore not because we ourselves want to undermine the security and confidence we already have, but because the circumstances are truly subversive and transformative, in a pivotal and cathartic 2020, where everything that is happening is stirs feelings of reaction and insecurity.

Insecurity from the impending change that we feel is approaching.

So, our need for security is great. We need to hold fast to something dear, something that gives us the pretext of the security we so desperately need, and so we try to resist the shocks of change.

The intensity of this Full Moon is greatly enhanced by the planet Uranus which is almost in a precise conjunction to the Full Moon.

Uranus in conjunction to the Moon and in contrast to the Sun, brings changes, unexpected events, emotional turmoil, upset and sudden realizations that make us change the way we see things. It makes us reactionary, revolutionary and groundbreaking.

Retrograde, it makes us wonder what our truth is, and it completely redefines our concept of freedom but also what is the security that we so desperately need to feel on a deeper emotional level.

As a result, it brings everything upside down.

Possible manifestations of this Full Moon in Taurus are:

  •   We want changes that will bring us security and we know that in order to attain this we must first accept the dark parts of ourselves and overcome them.
  •   Sudden events or news disturb our tranquility.
  •   We realize our feelings in a kind of revelation, and we really grasp how true, intense and deep they are.
  •   We want to feel free and express our feelings abruptly, regardless of rules and conventions.
  •   We become reactive as our desires for more intimacy and emotional union in our relationships are not met.

Emotionally and erotically, this Full Moon intensifies a feeling of inadequacy and devaluation by others. A feeling that hurts us, but also that makes us think maybe it’s time to finally end relationships and situations that do not help us, instead of trying to reconcile the incompatible.

This Full Moon may also bring unexpected events that challenges what was familiar until now, emphasizing the need to restore emotional security in our love life.

This Full Moon shakes us and shocks us, and yes it does this because it aims to wake us up to see clearly what we are looking for.

With the uncertainty it causes and the tension it brings, it may disrupt our stability and calmness, but it does so because its purpose is to profoundly affect relationships and the way we connect.

You see, this Full Moon takes place a night that has something special in the air. A night that, according to tradition, the veil between the material world of senses and the intangible world of spirits and ghosts, becomes thinner.

The Taurus-Scorpio axis that the Full Moon takes place is akin to the “Trick or Treat” of this night, which is a threat of one person doing something that scares you on a psychological level (Scorpio), if you do not give him a treat with sweets or money, to cover him in material terms (Taurus).

And so this Full Moon and Uranus come to remind us that relationships are not material goods or the sense of security that material goods simply cover, and they are also not an insatiable and incessant sentimental vampirism, full of tensions, that all it does is create obsessions and psychological dependencies.

The only real connection is “In Soul and Body”. Consciously and unconsciously. Connection true in the expression of our individuality and with real freedom that arises from the osmosis and deep bonding, as the soul and the body become one.

This is how relationships should be.

And if they are not… then this Full Moon, that also has something special in the air, comes to shake us.

It comes to throw over, any relationships that are not essential and to chase away the vampires and ghosts of this unholy night…

A beautiful, inspiring and empowering New Moon in Scorpio takes place on November the 7th.

The New Moon is the time when the Sun and the Moon come together at the same area of the sky as they cycle the celestial dome and their meeting marks a reset in the ever-changing influx of the lunar and solar energies.

What we intuitively need (the Moon), is now made conscious, and we can use our creative energy (the Sun), to initiate, make a new start or to refresh actions or relationships.

New Moon in Scorpio

When the Sun is in Scorpio our will is strengthened, desires are deep and everything takes on an existential quality. All issues are approached with a “matter of life and death” attitude. They are important, because we ourselves feel important and we can display intensity of will.

The Moon in Scorpio is intense emotions, buried emotions, taboo emotions. It is supercharged psychological intensity, urges of the psyche powerful enough to transform.

The lunar emotional depth when combined with the solar strong will, make every New Moon in Scorpio a potential powerhouse of renewed emotional stamina.

Each New Moon in Scorpio is sheer determination to go after our desires and it may act as a boost for transformation in the area of life denoted by the house in which it falls on our personal horoscope.

These qualities make this specific New Moon in Scorpio on November the 7th to be exactly what we need after the three difficult moons that have preceded it.

At last, after a period when we had to cope with difficult emotions and sudden changes, we can now regain our power and renew our emotional strength.

The power surge that this lunation gives, is amplified by the fact that the Sun and the Moon are not only in Scorpio but also in a sextile aspect to Pluto, the Sign’s ruler and so ruler of this New Moon.

The sextile of Sun to Pluto brings opportunities for empowerment on personal and professional level.

It is an aspect that means that we now can fulfill desires with little effort or that we can join our power with that of persons of authority or financial status and to achieve more. We are focused, determined and concentrated and there is no need to force or manipulate matters or persons.

At the same time the Moon is in a sextile aspect to Pluto. Any intense feelings of the previous period were a necessary cleaning of the dark places of the soul. And though this may have been a painful or exhausting process, it made the necessary room for us, and we can now again feel how strong we can be.

We have emotional control and we are again able to share deeply and intensely, no more being recipients of emotional blackmail or feeling vulnerable, but ready to trust again.

The New Moon is also in a trine aspect to the planet Neptune in the Sign of Pisces.

This aspect makes us creative, feels us with inspiration and make us easily sense the ambient vibes. It can work marvels in our relationships. Now we are in touch with our most spiritual and we care for what is cherished in our hearts. We see the other’s point of view, we walk in their shoes and we can comfort or show that we really understand.

This New Moon in Scorpio is acute perceptiveness that brings renewed spiritual connection (Neptune in Pisces) and regained psychological empowerment (Pluto in Capricorn).

It makes us ponder deeply on those issues relating to the area of life that it falls on our personal horoscope, brings intuitive understanding, makes us feel empowered and helps with closure of the past and moving on to new territory.

NEW MOON IN SCORPIO NOVEMBER 2018

Why is that?

Why this New Moon has such an ending quality and at the same time is a new beginning?

Why this New Moon works as a closure or as the final paragraph before moving on to the next chapter?

If we examine the chart of the New Moon we see that Jupiter, Uranus and the Nodal Axis are all situated at 29th degree. This degree in astrology is one of the critical degrees and is usually connected with endings.

The Critical Anaretic Degrees

In the chart of this New Moon, Jupiter is about to move from Scorpio into Sagittarius.

It is now time to move on from the truth of the soul to the truth of the world, expanding outwardly and not inwardly, but before doing so we have to face for one last time our deepest emotions, out very truth.

At the same time Uranus, as it moves retrograde, is on the 29th last degree of Aries Sign. Issues relating to how we can embrace freedom and individuality without being self-centered and disruptive to our relations are again of concern.

In addition to that, Venus is separating from an opposition to Uranus, an aspect that was exact one week before the New Moon, and that has created tensions, or to some of us considerations to ending relations or to others even actual break-ups.

The Lunar Nodes are also at 29°57’, critical degrees, as they have just entered into the Capricorn – Cancer axis something that denotes a shifting of energy that will bring the emphasis on a totally new area of life (chapter) for our personal horoscope for the next 1.5 years.

Chiron

This repetition of the 29th degrees gives this ending quality to this New Moon.

Accompanying this feeling, Chiron the wounded healer is at 28° 20’ of Pisces.

From there it makes a trine aspect to Jupiter and a sextile and trine aspect to the Lunar Nodes, infusing the lunation with healing energy.

Jupiter is also trine – sextile to the Nodes while Uranus is in a tight square to them at the same time. The one planet bringing sudden changes, the other bringing advancement and luck.

We can now see how the evolutionary path of the Nodes will lead to a new chapter.

Inevitable change and disruption of our security was necessary before us moving into to a whole new territory that has a promise of optimism and expansion. The new will come after having first made closure with the past. This is a necessary process for us, and we have to move on either with our relations re-invigorated or with a new version of our empowered self.

Epilogue

This New Moon in Scorpio inspires and moves us within higher frequencies of spiritual rebirth. It is either a renewal of the value that we receive from others or a renewal of our own self.

VENUS RETROGRADE IN SCORPIO 2018

Venus the planet of Love and Beauty will be retrograde, initially within the Sign of Scorpio and later on towards the end of its retrograde motion, within the Sign of Libra, affecting Scorpio, Taurus, Leo and Aquarius Signs that are born in the first decan, as well as Libra, Aries, Cancer and Capricorn Signs that are born in the last days of their Sign.

The Aesthetics of Retrograde

Andy Warhol, in his painting “Details of Renaissance Paintings, Botticelli, Birth of Venus”, is re-visiting Botticelli’s Venus and re-paints her with pop aesthetics in order to comment on the commercialization of the ideal of Love, the superficiality of being vain and to make the viewer stop and ponder on the notions of “relating” and “beauty”.

That is exactly what Planet Venus is callings us to do while in its retrograde period. It triggers a process of re-evaluation of our own self-worth, our own internal beauty. We are called to re-assess the expectations we have from others and at the same time to see how it is that we ourselves relate.

Venus retrograde October – November 2018

Venus, the planet of Love is going to turn retrograde on October the 5th from 10°50’ degrees of Scorpio.

During her retrograde course Venus will appear to move backwards in the night sky, and shall gradually retreat within the sign of Libra on November the 1st. There its retrograde motion will continue until November the 16th when it will finally station direct at 25°15’ of the Libra Sign, before moving direct again.

This is a two thirds journey of backtracking in Scorpio and one third in Libra.

Within Scorpio Venus expresses with the deepest of feelings and fixates on intense pleasure. It demands core bonding with other persons, infuses romance with sex and our connections with deep meaning.

For the period that Venus will be retrograde within the Scorpio, expressions of love will be mostly introvert and will be intrigued by Mars male assertion, Mars being the ruling planet of Scorpio in traditional Astrology.

Venus retrograde in Scorpio is

the smoldering desire of a subdued and submissive romanticism.

Only when the planet enters Libra the feeling will change. Venus will still need to belong but will adopt a lighter mentality in the process of re-evaluating how she relates, seeking more balance in relationships and now capable of seeing the other side.

The Karmic Effect

The very symbolism of Venus moving backwards means that a person from the past may re-appear. If this is the case, it only happens for a reason.

We must “remember” the relationship we have had with this person in the past, what it meant then and what it means now, for our present and for any existing relations or commitments.

We are called to redefine this relation with the past person in a clear and karmic – free way.

Venus in Retrospective Mood

During this forty days Venus retrograde period we turn inwards and wonder:

  • What is that we want from a relationship and from our partner?
  • Do we want to be in a relationship just only for the sake of not being alone?
  • Which are the motivations and our deepest desires?
  • Can we strip away layers of jealousy or control and reach again down to the core of the feelings?
  • Is our relationship superficial, pop and “appearances-only”, lacking meaningful deepest sharing?
  • Are we appreciated as much as we deserve?
  • Do we re-return appreciation and value our partner?

The very nature of these questions, whether we are in a relationship or not, concerns first and most to ourselves and while it mainly relates to love relations it also touches, one to one partnerships, business relations and our socializing in general.

All these questions is a necessary part in this process of introspection that clears out situations, makes us feel better with ourselves and prepares us or a more sociable period when Venus will be again direct.

Full Moon in Scorpio 2018

FULL MOON IN SCORPIO – 30 APRIL 2018: The Balance Shifts

Sharing is caring:

Full Moon in Scorpio 2018

The Full Moon takes place at 09° 38’ of the Sign of Scorpio. It strongly affects Scorpio, Taurus, Leo, and Aquarius Signs, which are born near the end of the 1st decan or near the start of the 2nd decan, as well as those having personal planets or their Ascendant near the degrees 7°- 11° of the Fixed cross.

GET YOUR OWN READING!

Prelude

Since the Aries New Moon two weeks ago, the moon has traveled half its cycle. Sign by Sign, it moved into the Sign of Scorpio and now shines, late at night, reflecting the light from the Sun that is in the Sign of Taurus.

This reflection is a culmination. It reflects a turning point in a process that started with the New Moon in Aries, a process that awakened us and placed us at the center of developments.

The previous New Moon was the impulse that pushed us, and now the Full Moon in Scorpio is our emotional response to a need that is deeply ingrained in the fabric of our soul.  The need for a meaningful connection that transforms. It is us desiring rebirth.

All full moons in Scorpio awake a desire for transformation, but with this Full Moon the need is intense and we can now make the difference.

Now we tip the scales. With this Full Moon in Scorpio the shift is made and everything is set in motion.

Act 1 – Balance Shift

There are three strong astrological indicators that give to this particular Full Moon a fated or as I more prefer to call it, evolutionary nature.

Moon from within the 9°38’ degrees of Scorpio opposes the Sun in Taurus and at the same time, both lights are in a square aspect to the Lunar Nodes at 10°30’ degrees of the Leo – Aquarius axis. This is the current eclipses’ axis and actually, if one checks, this Full Moon is not only squaring the nodes but it is also square the total Lunar Eclipse of January the 31st.

This cosmic coincidence connects the Lunar Eclipse with this Full Moon and means that emotional issues manifested right after the January eclipse, things that have been brewing under the surface all this time, have now reached a critical point. We can no longer balance between material stability (Taurus) and emotional security (Scorpio). Now it is the time that the balance shifts towards the one or the other, marking the beginning of a new period in our life.

Act 2 – Manifestation

Saturn is retrograde and, from the 9th degree of Capricorn, is forming a tight trine – sextile aspect to the Full Moon in Scorpio.

This second factor gives this Full Moon a serious nature. Saturn, the great teacher, gives us an opportunity to not only discipline the intense emotions of this Full Moon but also eases the manifestation of our will and the achievement of personal goals.

What Saturn does is that it makes a reality out of the tension represented by this full moon and with its retrograde movement, a Karmic feeling to what is being unfolding for us, is emphasized once more.

Act 3 – Developmental Patterns

The third astrological factor that denotes development, is the Trapeze aspect pattern that is formed on the chart of this Full Moon.

This is a combined aspect pattern formed by two Learning Triangles, each one in opposite direction to the other. The Trapeze has at its corners, Saturn, the Moon, the North Node, and Mercury.

This trapeze pattern, in its remarkable combination of multiple aspects, suggests a sequence of cyclical learning processes that result in personal development.

Finale

All these suggest one thing.

We cannot escape the unavoidable culmination and the making of important decisions.

The fact that between the two lights, the Moon is the one that forms the most aspects means that it is what we feel that will eventually make all the difference under this Scorpionic Full Moon.

It is our emotions that will set the motion and under this perspective it is fortunate that the Moon conjuncts Jupiter and is making a trine aspect to Neptune, because we are inspired.

We intuitively trust that after some initial unrest something good will turn out.

Epilogue

This Full Moon in Scorpio is a critical time especially for those having personal planets close to the 9th degree of the fixed cross. Depending on the houses where it falls on our personal chart it may mean:

  • Issues that first appeared at the end of January have now reached a culmination point.
  • Moving to a new house as a result of long felt emotional turmoil with family members.
  • Changes within marital dynamics result in actions that set us on a completely new course.
  • For some women, the realization that emotional intimacy matters more than material security becomes an achieved certainty.
  • For some men, passionate feelings for a woman, that were put aside in favor of serenity, reawaken and the game is still on.

One thing is sure…however it may affect us, this is a Full Moon that will be strongly felt.

Scorpio New Moon

SCORPIO NEW MOON – 18 NOVEMBER 2017: Empowerment & Belief

Sharing is caring:

Scorpio New Moon

Scorpio New Moon takes place on November 18th, just a few days after Venus made a conjunction with Jupiter within the same Sign.

Every New Moon is a promise and a beginning and especially when it occurs in Scorpio, then it is a new cycle of discovery of our hidden power.

This New Moon comes after the concerns that were raised by the Full Moon in Taurus on November 4th two weeks ago. These were concerns relating to our sense of inner value and the degree of the trust we can inspire to others. With the New Moon in Scorpio, this cycle of insecurities is complete, and we begin to realize the power and the depth of our inner emotional power.

This happens because this New Moon gets its color from the zodiac's most powerful psychological Sign, and with Jupiter being also in Scorpio, this awareness comes as a result of a substantial introspection that gradually reveals our reserves in power.

The favorable aspects monopolize in the chart of the New Moon, with the trine between Jupiter and Neptune closing and with Venus, having made its conjunction with Jupiter, now approaching the two Lights.

Inspiration, optimism, hope, self-confidence, increased popularity, harmonic relationships, even new relationships and luck, are among the energies that color the landscape in which the New Moon takes place.

Within such a spectrum of positive energy, even the square formed by Mars and Pluto, which is the only tense aspect of the chart, is expressed in a milder manner.  It manifests more as incentive, increased self-confidence and sustained stamina and much less than explosive nerve or sexual tension.

The male (Sun) and the female (Moon) are united in a tight embrace within the Sign of passion. However, in this New Moon, any dark Scorpio elements - which encapsulate emotions of ceaseless intensity that "drown" more romantic expression, are completely softened within the energetic landscape I have described above.

The scene is not one of two lovers in a dark room experiencing ultimate intensity. It is more like a room not totally dark, but selectively lit by the glow-in-the dark reflections of the favorable astrological aspects. The red beams are the Mars - Pluto square that is power and desire. Reflections within the silence of the night and the lovers are near sharing secrets.

That is exactly how this New Moon in Scorpio feels.

Yes, because besides belief in ourselves through the awareness of our strength and the value that we can inspire to others, this New Moon also brings about the essential communication in our relationships. Precisely what it has been lacking, the previous weeks and in doing so, it help us to renew the trust between us and the important others.

So remember, when you will start to feel the energy of this lunation, be sure that it will result in empowerment and belief in yourself.

Find out where the New Moon falls in your chart
