FULL MOON IN AQUARIUS – AUGUST 22, 2021

A Full Moon that culminates the crisis in relationships takes place on August 22, with the Sun in the sign of Leo and the Moon opposite in the sign of Aquarius.

It’s an August Moon filled with a change of direction, calling us to alter our way of dealing and adopting to changes and to revise our perceptions so that we can move forward.

At the same time, it is a moon which will significantly shake the sense of security for some of you as it brings upheavals, a moon which can bring definitive closures or endings, but which on the other hand can also bring renewal with new foundations being built out of the current ruins.

It is a full moon at 29° anaeretic degree which brings us in a final and definitive way face to face with the climax of the crisis.

But it is also a karmic lunation special for our evolution and I am going to explain why later on.

 

EVOLUTION means CHANGE, it means opening of consciousness and it means contact with the inner Truth of Relationships.

Truth that answers the questions:

  • What do we want from each other and from ourselves?
  • Where are the limits of freedom and where do conventions begin and end?
  • What are the boundaries between individual wants and relationship needs, and how do we move forward TOGETHER?

CHANGE IS symbolised by the Planet Uranus and it is a change that is brought about through the realization or not realizing what OUR TRUTH is. If we realize it, change comes in a pleasant way, if not… with judgment and unexpected crisis.

 

This Full Moon occurs with the Moon in the sign of Aquarius, the sign ruled by planet Uranus, and it occurs as Uranus has just turned retrograde, two days before the Full Moon.

It takes place with Uranus, irrevocably pushing the 14° and 15° degrees of the Fixed Zodiac Signs, uprooting any foundation of security and stability, and turning it upside down for Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius.

This Moon is intense, as it occurs with Uranus almost stationary, throwing its subversive energy at any planet it touches, bringing crisis and conflict to interpersonal relationships. Relationships which are reaching a breaking point now and are being torn down from their foundations either to be rebuilt with a more solid foundation, or to be finished and us to move forward on our path of evolution.

Yes, this Full Moon in Aquarius will profoundly affect our relationships with significant others, as it occurs on the same Zodiac axis for the second time in a month. Issues in relationships that started to become apparent at the end of July are now coming to a head.

Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius Signs, as well as those of you who have personal planets, your Ascendant or Midheaven at 14°-15° degrees or 27°-29° degrees of the Fixed Signs, and those of you who are Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius or Pisces of the first 2 days or have your personal planets or angles of your horoscope at degrees 0° or 1° of the Mutable Signs, get ready for twists and turns.

 

This is a Full Moon that will come full circle, bringing either radical restructuring or a final rupture, as it will illuminate issues that have to do with the LEO – AQUARIUS polarity and the planet URANUS having turned retrograde.

A full moon which invites you to combine the polar qualities of Leo and Aquarius in the most positive way to move forward.

Follow your heart, overcome psychological blocks created either by fear of commitment or fear of upending your security.

To see clearly who and what you are and what the purpose and essence of your existence is. Yours and your Other Half’s, and how your relationship can lead you towards that purpose.

Look back to move forward, and think about what you can welcome into your life and what you want so that you can feel true freedom.

Get away from cold rationalization and listen to your heart. Bring emotion and reason into the center.

Understand the consequences of inaction and that things get worse the longer you choose to ignore a problem.

 

Jupiter conjunct the Moon brings hypersensitivity and dulls feelings of awkwardness. Opposite the Sun it can bring frivolous or even immature reactions.

Get away from it. Take your risks, assert what is important express your feelings. Dare with your heart and not your mind.

Mercury and Mars are conjunct in the Virgo sign at this Full Moon and in an excellent trine with Uranus in Taurus.

Make decisions and take action!

We have free will and every day, every decision we make is important and wanting and acting based on our true self is a fundamental characteristic of Leo.  Combine this with shared goals shared dreams, a common path and reconciliation with your other half and half the work is already done.

Let go of selfishness (Leo) and reactivity (Aquarius) and find the happy medium.

In the chart of this difficult Full Moon, a beautiful and surprisingly helpful kite formation is formed involving Venus in Libra, Saturn in Aquarius, North Node in Gemini, and South Node in Sagittarius.

It is clearly an evolutionary formation, that tells us that we have the ability to incorporate the karmic lessons that this Full Moon brings to interpersonal relationships and to rebuild trust, communication, and a sense of respect in our relationships, resulting in loyalty and commitment.

It is here where the intense karmic nature of this Full Moon lies, coupled with the fact that it occurs in the anaeretic degree of the fixed Signs

The Full Moon takes place at 22°24’ of the Sign of Aquarius. It mainly has an effect for Leo, Scorpio, Aquarius, and Taurus persons, and also for Aries and Sagittarius persons, who are born in the first days of the third decan, as well as for those having personal planets, points or their Ascendant, near the 20° – 24° degrees.

This is a Full Moon that poses relationship dilemmas for Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius Signs.

It sweetly lures Gemini, Libra, Sagittarius and Aries persons into relationships or more flirting.

It creates jerky feelings and indecisiveness to Capricorn, Cancer, Virgo and Pisces Signs.

The New Moon in Leo two weeks ago has set the stage.

The actors, a man and a woman, played their roles. That of lovers or partners, in a script that was ingenuous. The lines carried excitement, freshness or the mere electrifying tension of planet Uranus.

It was a New Moon that stirred emotions and all of a sudden there were surprising events in relationships. For some who were single, new persons suddenly appeared and the sparks flew. Act Two – FULL MOON IN AQUARIUS

The Full Moon takes place at 22°24’ of the Sign of Aquarius on August the 15th. As the summer vacations peak, so does emotions peak, as this full moon highlights the themes and issues that begun at the start of the lunar cycle, with the New Moon in Leo on July the 31st.

 

The movement on the stage

The Sun

Since the first act of the play, summer moved on, and the Sun moved on, from the 8° of Leo to the 22° degree, bringing vitality, willfulness and confidence to Leo, Aries, and Sagittarius persons born in the second decan.

Sun in its move, made a wonderful trine with Jupiter in Sagittarius, boosting again their confidence and bringing luck to the Fire Signs. Combine this “Ego” boost with the attention and flirting that the New Moon promised for them, and you see that these Signs were the favored actors of the First Act.

During the same time, the Sun’s separating square with Planet Uranus and the Sun’s consecutive movement through the degrees mentioned, brought challenges and small crisis in confidence to Taurus, Scorpios and Aquarius Signs.

These were signs that felt the need to carefully plan their next steps professionally, to set goals, and that wondered, how to move on with partnerships and relations.

Planet Venus makes a superior conjunction with the Sun

Venus all this time, has been closely behind the Sun, and one day before the Full Moon, on August the 14th, Venus makes its superior conjunction to the Sun.

Venus, when in its superior conjunction phase, is furthest from the Earth, on the opposite side of the Sun. This phase is equivalent to the full moon phase, because the planet Venus and the Earth are in opposition with the Sun in between them.

 

What does this mean astrologically and in relation with the Full Moon in Aquarius?

It means that now begins a period, when our perception of ourselves, our charisma, our ideals and our very sense of value is shaped with meaning. Meaning that relates to, and is projected from, and towards, other persons.

It means that this is time when -if we are one of the favored Signs mentioned previously, we may feel at peace and harmony with ourselves, valued and loved, sociable and wanting to have fun. Good feelings coming from the attention we got.

If on the other hand, we are one of the non-favored signs, then we want to feel all these good feelings, despite our lack of confidence and any separating tendencies in relationships.

In any of the two cases, the point is that we now understand that feeling good and sharing is a two – way equation and involves relating.

The sudden love, the one night stand, the flirt, the need to split, any of the new circumstances that the New Moon in Leo has brought, is now examined and assessed internally, in a process that will shape a new sense of “We”.

Punch line: We are re-assessing what is that we like, as a result of the changes in our emotional and love life.

The Moon opposes Sun and Venus

The Moon is right opposite from the heart of the Sun – Venus conjunction. And here exactly, in this opposition, lies the culmination and the tense.

The Moon is in the Sign of Aquarius. The feelings here are intellectualized, the need is to be objective, detached. On the stage two different principles are played out.

The loving heart of the Leo Sun and the passion of the Leo Venus against the cool, calm and collected individualism of the Aquarian soul.

The Moon in opposition to Venus also means that there is a clash between our needs (Moon) and what other people (opposition) like (Venus). Or it may mean that we try to please (Venus) others (opposition) at the expense of our emotional needs (Moon).

This Full Moon is the contrast the sweetness of being close with the carefree of being solo.

The partial Solar Eclipse on January the 5th or 6th, depending on your place in the globe, is the first of five in total, eclipses, three solar and two lunar, which will occur in 2019.

This eclipse is also part of the series of eclipses on the Cancer – Capricorn axis. These eclipses began with the Solar Eclipse in Cancer on July 13 2018, and shall continue throughout 2019, up until the summer of 2020, when they will be completed.

This cycle of eclipses in the Cancer – Capricorn axis coincides with the gradual approach of Saturn towards Pluto and their conjunction in Capricorn in January 2020, thus signaling a period of 18 months that will bring significant changes to Capricorn and Cancer Signs, and also to Aries and Libra Signs, since for them, the effect of the eclipses is stronger.

Remember though, that eclipses are strong Astrological events and affect us all, some less and some more, without exception, and depending on what aspects they make on our personal natal chart.

The solar eclipse of January the 5th / 6th takes place at 15 ° 25′ of the zodiac Sign of Capricorn and is a “multidimensional” and complex eclipse with a variety of expressions, at cosmic and individual level.

The Sun-Moon conjunction in the Capricorn Sign gives at a cosmic level a semester marked by significant changes in matters of how power is managed and administered world-wide.

The two Lights are in conjunction to Saturn and Pluto and also lie on the midpoint of the two planets. Saturn and Pluto is a combination capable of enhancing the ambitions, goals, and the control that exert, various governmental, corporate, or other hierarchical structures.

Saturn also forms a sextile aspect to with Neptune, an aspect that helps such designs and power visions to be realized, and be at the same time accompanied by a series of necessary reality checks, before they are put into effect.

At the same time, however, on the chart of this eclipse, and throughout the year, the square of Jupiter and Neptune is an aspect that undermines these plans, since it speaks of a social disappointment that will be diffused.

A disappointment that stems from the fact that people’s common sense of just (Jupiter in Sagittarius), and a yet unspecified but full of dynamism (square aspect) social vision (Neptune in Pisces), are not represented within the corridors of power.

Jupiter – Neptune in a square of extreme idealism and disillusion, which combined with the great influence that the planet Uranus plays in the general planetary setting, may bring massive mobilizations.

Depth of Field: Uranus and the Moon’s Nodes

The planet Uranus began to form a square to the Moon’s Nodes during the summer eclipses, an aspect that came to a precision in November 2018, and which continues in this and the next eclipse, as also in every New Moon and Full Moon up until mid-March 2019.

The continuous square of Uranus with the Moon’s Nodes brings the energy of the planet into the heart of the events for the period that follows.

Uranus was also the last planet to go retrograde in the dance of the many retrograde planets of the previous summer, and its liberating and disrupting energy will once more start to express when it returns to a direct motion.

When does this happen?

But on January 6 2019, from 28 ° 36 Aries

the same day with the eclipse!

All the sparkling electricity, and revolutionary or subversive action, that lay hidden, now finds an outlet, and the fact that this begins in the same day as the Partial Solar Eclipse, shows us emphatically that at the cosmic level we will see protests and upoars in the coming months.

That is shortly after the accompanying Lunar Eclipse that will take place on the 21st of the month.

LEO SOLAR ECLIPSE - 11 AUGUST 2018This summer is marked by three eclipses and many planets being retrograde during the eclipse season. The combination of these astrological factors is something that is relatively rare and it shapes an unpredictable, dynamic and hot landscape.

This eclipse is especially important for those who belong to the Signs of the Fixed Cross (Leo, Aquarius, Taurus, and Scorpio) and who are born between August 9 – 13, November 9 – 13, February 5 – 9 and May 7 – 11.  Also to those having personal planets or their Ascendant near the 16° – 20° degrees of these Signs.

Long Hot Summer – Part Three

The Solar Eclipse of August 11th is the final of the three eclipses of this long, hot summer’s eclipse season. It occurs in the Sign of Leo and succeeds the Solar Eclipse in Cancer and the Lunar Eclipse in Aquarius.

This eclipse functions as the aftermath of the highly dynamic period that preceded it. In a sense, it is a new beginning that follows after the realizations and the emotional peaks that we have experienced under the influence of the previous eclipses. Two powerful eclipses that have raised the volume both on personal and mundane level.

The first eclipse challenged our sense of security (Solar Eclipse in Cancer) and made us aware of power plays and pressures at home or in relationships.

The second eclipse, in its mundane expression, has resulted in unpredictable collective drama (Mars retrograde square Uranus and conjunct the South Node in Aquarius). With Mars, the planet of fire, dominant in this second and most difficult eclipse, we have unfortunately witnessed a July that was marked by wild forest fires, high temperatures that made new records and deadly heatwaves, across the globe.

The personal drama (Leo) has been brought into the collective (Aquarius) and the repercussions create political and collective re-action (Mars Retrograde in Aquarius) and re- thinking (Mercury Retrograde).

On a personal level, for many of us this second eclipse was realizations made and most possibly emotional outbursts that we were not able to control.

Now with this third eclipse, that is a New Moon, we will be pushed to make a re-start.

 

Potential to moving forward

LEO SOLAR ECLIPSE - 11 AUGUST 2018

The Solar Eclipse on the 11th of August takes place in Leo and is conjunct the North Node.

This is an aspect that has the potential of bringing intuitive awareness that will move us forward.

In the creative sign of Leo, this aspect with the North Node can work its best provided that we tune into our most noble and self-expressive qualities, detached from ego twists, and conceited mannerisms.

On the personal level we can work relationships with magnanimity and courtesy and bring about closure of past issues or crises which manifested under the influence of the previous Solar Eclipse.

However, both our personal adjustment as well as the integration of the eclipse’s energy into the social collective is a slow process.

Mercury squares Jupiter

The major aspect of the eclipse is the square of  the retrograde Mercury in Leo to planet Jupiter in Scorpio. This is an aspect that may express with exaggerations in communication, misjudgments and information overload.

On a personal level we have to be aware not to be obsessed or over passionate in debates and talks, to stay focused and to avoid misunderstandings.

On a mundane level it is a period that can lead to risky or misinformed decisions in senior ranks and to high volatility in stock exchanges.

The retrograde planets are dancing

Uranus has turned retrograde just four days prior to the eclipse and will continue to move backwards in apparent motion as seen from the Earth until January the 6th 2019 when it will reach 28° of Aries.

This is something very important because Uranus becomes the sixth consecutive planet that turns retrograde adding to the retro feeling of this summer.

The process of creating something out of this eclipses’ energy is slow.

Something new will come to be ONLY AFTER we have done our work with each and every one of the retrograde planets.

ONLY AFTER we have redefined where we stand.

With Uranus retrograde we have to look at things from a fresh perspective and re-define our personal truths. To embrace the new we have first to understand what holds us back whether this be a person, a job or ideas that no longer serve us.

Uranus retrograde process to shape our personal truth works very well with Neptune being retrograde also, because Neptune retrograde helps us to see with clarity and without idealizations. BUT in order to do so we have to first get rid of our personal delusions.

Saturn is also retrograde and we need to redefine our limits and to learn well the evolutionary or karmic lessons that it poses.

Pluto continues to be retrograde and the excavation of our soul is well underway. Pluto’s retrograde period is usually felt as a psychological process that seeks regeneration, purification and results in a healthy urge for survival.

Mars is retrograde and in a high energy state being out-of-bounds during all the eclipses, with his out-of-bounds movement peaking between 14th August and 19th of August, when Mars will reach an astounding declination of 26°29’ South of the ecliptic. Delays and frustration, anger management and redefining of actions is needed.

Mercury is retrograde since the previous eclipse in Aquarius and is also a key player in this eclipse since it is conjunct the two lights. How to form our personal truth and understand our best course of action when Mercury complicates things?

How will to reach to conclusions and make decisions or find solutions within this slow-moving bog of retrograde energy?

We astrologers see the big picture and understand the cycles.

Uranus has a major role in this summer eclipses, being in a square with Mars and making a 3 degree orb T-square with all the three eclipses Nodal Axis.

Uranus is the last planet in this dance of the retrogrades and its liberating energy will not be felt until it is direct again.

When it is that?

January the 6th 2019,

the very same day that the next eclipse occurs!

It is then, that this cycle of awakening will come to fruition with ideas, insights, liberating energy and manifestation of truth.

Additionally important to the fact that Uranus turns direct on the same day with the next eclipse, is the fact that the planet will once more tightly square the Nodal Axis of both of the winter eclipses .

It is as if these summer eclipses prepare us. They give us lessons and demand us to work with the retrograde planets so as we can be ready for the real changes (Uranus) that are about to come.

That is why this Solar Eclipse in Leo is pivotal.

Because it plays out as the last dress rehearsal with all of us the actors absorbing the script to its last detail prior to coming forth on the scene.

 

A trine aspect reaches its precision with this eclipse

Saturn in Capricorn, has been in an applying trine to Uranus in Taurus throughout the last weeks, and this aspect, with its liberating and grounding energy, comes to a precision of 0° 31’ in this last eclipse of the summer period.

This is the most helpful of all the aspects, since it allows us to manage the changes and the sudden events that resulted from the eclipses, in a responsible manner.

It gives a relative stability within the slow and demanding landscape.

 

A second trine aspect reaches its precision with this eclipse

Jupiter in Scorpio is trine to Neptune in Pisces, an aspect that gradually comes to a very close precision with this last eclipse, culminating on August the 19th.

This is a most benevolent aspect. A divide gift of hope and compassion. It is an aspect that can work as a “Deus ex Machina”, saving us at the last moment, granting hope, bringing gifts, spiritual awareness and increased Faith.

 

Sun drenched days are here again

This is the last eclipse of this long, hot summer and demands introspective work and re-evaluation to all areas pertaining to the retrograde planets.

Its energy is pivotal and has repercussions.

In the short-term, the Solar Eclipse in Leo of the 11th of August is slowly but firmly pushing us out of the bog and slowly builds on hope and a positive vision.

More importantly, it is a critical eclipse. It has a long-term effect and it prepares and grounds us for the shifting changes of the winter eclipses that hold a Uranian promise.
