Degree: 24°06′ on the Leo – Aquarius axis

The full moon occurs in the sign of Leo and will affect all of us, but even more Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, and Aquarius persons that are born in the third decanate of their Sign. It also affects those of you who have personal planets, your Ascendant or Midheaven betwen the degrees 20° to 29°59′ of the Fixed Aigns.

In the dramatic scene of Leo, under Aquarius’s cold lighting, an actress completes her monologue.

Seated on a tall stool with her face appearing hard due to contrasting shadows. Her voice is heart-wrenching and powerful:

“What should I do to be taken care of?

What should I do for someone to care about me?

I don’t get the attention I want…

I’m not at the center of their world…

Who am I?

Who am I?”

 

She bends her head into her palms…

Her inner tension peaks. Her body trembles as realizations she made over the last hour, disturb her.

She lowers her hands slowly and raises her face again to look at us straight in the eye. She remains like this for a moment that exceeds a minute, before declaring boldly and coldly:

“I want to be myself.

I want independence,

not caring since no one cares about me.

I want freedom.

It’s time for everything to change!”

She rises slowly, takes hold of the stool she was sitting on, tilts it over, and lets it fall. We hear a deafening noise as her silhouette departs.

Thoughts about detachment and separation thoughts. Rationalization of emotions turns them into positions that consequently turn to rigid absolute stances.

Yes, this moon will make you confront your passions versus logic, between what you want and what others desire.

This is a difficult Moon that tests relationships

That brings tension

That brings revelations via conversations

That brings sudden unexpected events.

 

Chart Analysis:

The Moon in the sign of Leo seeks passion, seeks creative expression, seeks admiration and acceptance. She wants things to be done in its own way, but she is ready to return back warmth, after receiving confirmation first.

With the Sun opposite in the sign of Aquarius, we rationalize emotions objectively and sometimes coldly; if we feel they’re not met, we rather prefer our independence and freedom instead of the union.

If there are difficult aspects, a Full Moon in Leo, expresses reactively—either “what I want” or “better to be alone.” This contrast intensifies relationship tensions by bringing egoistic behaviors, excessive emotionalism, a tendency towards melodrama, or conversely complete detachment and coldness.

 

Every Full Moon in Leo always receives influence from the planet Uranus; in this particular Full Moon, Uranus is also to a square aspect to both the Moon and the Sun bringing unstable emotions, sudden realizations, abrupt changes, electric tension, and unpredictability.

Next to the Sun, Mercury is in Aquarius also conjunct to the Sun and opposing the Moon; Something sudden might reveal itself through conversations that are emotionally disturbing. Cold words may provoke intense reactions. 

Near the Sun and Mercury there’s also Ceres, an asteroid that relates to nurturing and emotional nourishment; in opposition to the Moon, it is exactly these feelings that we are not being cared as much as we deserve that are brought to the fore, creating emotional tensions.

This Full Moon on February 12 tests out relationships, brings tendencies toward independence, or deconstructs them fundamentally.

It is centered around complaints that our value isn’t recognized, and that we are not cared enough prompting our exit from the stage!

However, since the Full Moon themes unfold within a broader frame of astrological aspects, that will last until late April, aspects that are positive for improvement in relationships and love, I think that the tensions this Full Moon brings will be temporary.

 

On another level, this Full Moon can awaken feelings that block us from realizing whether our creativity is recognized by our peers. This may lead us to want to leave certain groups, consider changing jobs, or end some collaborations entirely.

 

One positive aspect in this Full Moon in Leo is the one between Mars, that is retrograde in Cancer, trine to Saturn Pisces.

It is this aspect that reflects the realisations that our actions and efforts up to now, have not yielded the desired results.

This shouldn’t discourage us. Our actions and decisions should not stem from the emotional intensity that the Full Moon brings. Instead, we should wait, judge, and think before we act. We should also avoid making final decisions during the next two weeks.  

Reconsider your plans and actions and know that any slow changes that have been taking place, are not futile. They may seem slow and not bearing fruit, but they will do bear fruit two months later, when the same Mars – Saturn trine will repeat in end of March, Mars being direct that time.

 

So, take it easy, be patient and try to avoid excessive emotionalism or cold stances under the influence of this full moon.

The Full Moon in Capricorn on July 13th is particularly complex from an astrological perspective. With many aspects and full of contradictions.

On one hand the Moon in Capricorn, practical and grounded, is yearning to take you to a destiny that deep down you know you are hiding.

A New moon that has interesting synchronicities takes place tomorrow, February the 11th.

The New Moon has a really maverick character and in reality, it marks a very important time for the manifestation of ideas and the planting of future seeds, that will work very positive for those who can understand its potential.

It is as if during the minutes when this New Moon is formed, it creates a bubble in time space, a sheltering place where one’s consciousness may directly leap from the mundane and material into the higher vibrations of the universe.

The Aquarian energy of this New Moon, ruled by planer Uranus is futuristic and quantic enough to create flashes of insight.

 

Uranus wants to break free from the norm, and throughout 2021 Uranus will be squared three times by Saturn. Uranus will act as the bringer of change, with people clashing against the control and the status quo from one hand and shifting of the old paradigms on the other.

This is something that has already started, and we shall witness more protests and freedom movements around us, as well as fundamental changes in all aspects of societal, scientific, technological and governmental structures. Changes that will play for the most of 2021.

But this is how Uranus influences on the material level.

 

On another level Uranus brings awareness and higher consciousness.  

And it is exactly this New Moon, that is the only one that will be ruled by planet Uranus in 2021, that is the key. A key that unlocks awareness of the greater universal forces, by aligning our higher mind to the vibrations of higher consciousness.

The first important synchronicity is that while this New Moon takes place, planet Mercury -that is the lower octave of Uranus, is moving retrograde in Aquarius.

Open you minds under this New Moon. Let Uranus ruler of Aquarius win over the clash with Saturn. Forget fear, stop worrying, rest your mind, let Mercury, that is retrograde in Aquarius. to reflect and to objectify your thoughts.

We are all free and we were all created free, unique and equal from God. We continue to be free only by keeping our minds open and overcome fear. Open your inner eyes.

A difficult Full Moon takes place in the sign of Taurus on October 31, 2020.

A Full Moon is a point of culmination. It usually marks a time when processes or events that have begun two weeks before with the New Moon are now reaching their climax.

This is why under the Full Moon we are usually charged with tension. Now either what started then is completed, or we clearly see what is lacking, what needs to be corrected, what is wrong. and we are called to re-adjust our actions or our attitude. Now we are called, in the light of the revelations brought by the Full Moon, to change our attitude, our actions or our own course.

With the full moon in Taurus on October 31st, the tension we feel arises from the contradiction between our need to be emotionally safe, in practical and simple terms, on the one hand …

… and from our strong desire to change and experience intense situations as we are attracted by the complex, or the dark, or the deep and rich emotional stimulation … on the other.

It is a tension that we ourselves cause, as we are attracted

by the dark call of the Night of Souls.

But the exact opposite may also be true.

Confusion and uncertainty come to the fore not because we ourselves want to undermine the security and confidence we already have, but because the circumstances are truly subversive and transformative, in a pivotal and cathartic 2020, where everything that is happening is stirs feelings of reaction and insecurity.

Insecurity from the impending change that we feel is approaching.

So, our need for security is great. We need to hold fast to something dear, something that gives us the pretext of the security we so desperately need, and so we try to resist the shocks of change.

The intensity of this Full Moon is greatly enhanced by the planet Uranus which is almost in a precise conjunction to the Full Moon.

Uranus in conjunction to the Moon and in contrast to the Sun, brings changes, unexpected events, emotional turmoil, upset and sudden realizations that make us change the way we see things. It makes us reactionary, revolutionary and groundbreaking.

Retrograde, it makes us wonder what our truth is, and it completely redefines our concept of freedom but also what is the security that we so desperately need to feel on a deeper emotional level.

As a result, it brings everything upside down.

Possible manifestations of this Full Moon in Taurus are:

  •   We want changes that will bring us security and we know that in order to attain this we must first accept the dark parts of ourselves and overcome them.
  •   Sudden events or news disturb our tranquility.
  •   We realize our feelings in a kind of revelation, and we really grasp how true, intense and deep they are.
  •   We want to feel free and express our feelings abruptly, regardless of rules and conventions.
  •   We become reactive as our desires for more intimacy and emotional union in our relationships are not met.

Emotionally and erotically, this Full Moon intensifies a feeling of inadequacy and devaluation by others. A feeling that hurts us, but also that makes us think maybe it’s time to finally end relationships and situations that do not help us, instead of trying to reconcile the incompatible.

This Full Moon may also bring unexpected events that challenges what was familiar until now, emphasizing the need to restore emotional security in our love life.

 

This Full Moon shakes us and shocks us, and yes it does this because it aims to wake us up to see clearly what we are looking for.

With the uncertainty it causes and the tension it brings, it may disrupt our stability and calmness, but it does so because its purpose is to profoundly affect relationships and the way we connect.

You see, this Full Moon takes place a night that has something special in the air. A night that, according to tradition, the veil between the material world of senses and the intangible world of spirits and ghosts, becomes thinner.

The Taurus-Scorpio axis that the Full Moon takes place is akin to the “Trick or Treat” of this night, which is a threat of one person doing something that scares you on a psychological level (Scorpio), if you do not give him a treat with sweets or money, to cover him in material terms (Taurus).

And so this Full Moon and Uranus come to remind us that relationships are not material goods or the sense of security that material goods simply cover, and they are also not an insatiable and incessant sentimental vampirism, full of tensions, that all it does is create obsessions and psychological dependencies.

The only real connection is “In Soul and Body”. Consciously and unconsciously. Connection true in the expression of our individuality and with real freedom that arises from the osmosis and deep bonding, as the soul and the body become one.

This is how relationships should be.

And if they are not… then this Full Moon, that also has something special in the air, comes to shake us.

It comes to throw over, any relationships that are not essential and to chase away the vampires and ghosts of this unholy night…

Attention is needed, because this electrically charged New Moon brings tensions to the area that activates in our horoscope, brings abrupt changes that surprise us, emotional coldness, cracks in relationships or even breakups.

 

Mars Square Saturn

As if this isn’t enough, Mars from Libra makes a difficult square to Saturn in Capricorn. An aspect that intensifies the situation, acting as a slow wick that will eventually trigger the explosive power that is contained in this New Moon.

Anger, repressed egoism, a feeling that “we cannot”, are possible manifestations of this square.

We have to exert more effort to keep up the pretenses since we are unable to find a subtler way to address the issues. We feel frustration.

It is a very dynamic aspect that makes us unable to keep our patience, brings low libido, repressed passions. It is an aspect that may even bring conflict with the law and other forms of authority.

 

Mars inconjunct Neptune

This, in my opinion, is the worst aspect of this New Moon.

Mars, already in a square to Saturn, is simultaneously inconjunct to Neptune. The blockage of energy meets the false expectations. Fallen libido is channeled to idealism.

Mars in Libra is indecisive and as square to Saturn, is oppressed and unable to react to the spell that Neptune brings. Love, instead of being externalized, becomes not expressed, and here lies the risk of frustration.

Passion may light up for a while, but in this environment of pressure, and with so many false expectations, in its best will bring meaningless sexual intercourse, which will drain us psychologically, and in its worst will bring unrequited love and desires that border on the “unhealthy”.

 

Neptune Sextile Saturn

This is the only helpful aspect of this New Moon, an aspect that closes the formation of the Learning Trine that this chart has. An aspect formation between Saturn, Mars, and Neptune, that hides a small lesson.

It is an aspect that comes as a continuation of the anger/pressure of the Mars – Saturn square, and the frustration that the disappointment of the Mars – Neptune inconjunct.

The learning process is completed only after the pressure and the frustration, as we are now learning to begin from a more realistic base and to have faith in our potential.

The sooner we overcome the first two phases of the formation, and the more quickly we absorb the learning, the better it is.

Where we have to pay attention

As you see, this New Moon in Scorpio requires special attention as it brings either tension or energy loss.

Especially the Fixed Signs (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, Aquarius) of the first decan, as well as the Cardinal Signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn) of the second decan, should watch out, because this New Moon may:

  • relate to unexpected events that challenge what is familiar.
  • bring tensions that will shake their emotional security and their love life.
  • cause rash and unthoughtful reactions.
  • exaggerate any feelings of oppression and weight felt in our relationships, and trigger a rethinking of “how” and “why” we are with the other person.
  • create foggy situations and mistaken expectations, either erotically or sexually, resulting in frustration and spending of energy.
  • bring tensions, anger, and crises that will lead to breakups and separations.

So, having the necessary patience to remain polite, to be diplomatic, to be less reactive and more compromising, are the only ways to avoid the tensions.

Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, and Pisces Signs are less affected by the energy of the New Moon, but nevertheless, they also have to be careful:

  • for viruses,
  • And to not be left on the delusional charm of temporary eroticism. Or even if they do, at least to know what is happening to them and why they do it.

 

Postscript

This New Moon at a mundane level is likely to coincide with explosions, military clashes, aggressive actions (already being prepared for Syria), and the usage of chemical weapons.

 

In any case, it is an intense New Moon, one that we astrologers are not happy to analyze, with a very intense Scorpio flair, as you will come to experience it, and which, sooner or later…

In Astrology a Full Moon’s energy may be more difficult or more easy. The case with this Full Moon in Aries is that it is a great amplifier of emotions.

P.S. There are some helping aspects in this Full Moon.

One is the trine-sextile aspects that the two lights make with planet Jupiter, in a wedge formation that aids the tension.

The second is the magnificent trine that Mercury in Scorpio makes to Neptune in Pisces.

These aspects bring warm feelings, gentleness, generosity, openness, honesty, inspired thinking and spirituality, and they do work very positively for Pisces, Scorpio, Cancer, Virgo, and Taurus persons, of the middle second decan and the first days of the third decan.

But in my humble opinion, these aspects cannot balance the amplified intensity that this Full Moon is having for the Signs of the Cardinal Cross and the Fixed Signs of the first days.

This may be for the better…

NEW MOON IN LEO 31 JULY 2019

The New Moon takes place at 08°36’ of the Sign of Leo. It mainly has an effect for Leo, Scorpio, Aquarius, and Taurus persons, and also for Aries and Sagittarius persons, who are born in the first decan, as well as for those having personal planets, points or their Ascendant, near the 06° – 10° degrees of the Signs mentioned.

A LOVE PLAY IN THREE ACTS

The New Moon in Leo takes place on the night of the 31st of July and it is a shining New Moon filled with the unexpected.

The curtain lifts. Spotlights on! This New Moon sets the stage and the introduction to the characters. This is the first act, of a three-act love play that will go on throughout August.

Until the end of the month three successive lunations,

with this New Moon being the first, will prompt action for us,

to be both the actors and the viewers, of the greatest story of all.

 

That, between  a Man and  a Woman.

Three moons, each one with its playfulness and drama, each one more erotic than the previous, as Venus, Mars and the Lights are coming closer and closer, and opposite, and closer once more.

The play begins…

 

Act One – NEW MOON IN LEO

Every time the Moon meets the Sun as it circles around the sky a seed is sown. Intuition, memory, needs and subconscious desires are symbolized by the moon. The conscious, the expressive self, the spirit, our cause and our very existence, are symbolized by the Sun.

The moment these two meet, a merge of the archetypal energies is taking place. In a sense the two become one. They become whole in a union of the male and female energy.

That is why the seed is sown.

 

All New Moons in Leo merge creativity with generosity, courtship with leadership, and the regal with the childlike. Yes we are confident and sure of ourselves, creativity spikes and it is our time to shine.

With this particular New Moon in Leo this merging takes place at 08°36’ of the Sign. Time for new beginnings, creation and self expression.

On the scene come two actors.

The first is Venus in Leo that closely conjuncts the two Lights. Brings on the themes of romantic love, flirting, socializing, and us feeling beautiful, not just beautiful but the most beautiful!  Expression is amorous with a flair for the dramatic. The need is that we are liked by others. The emotions are gentle and passionate at the same time. Venus is a starlet that wants to be the center of attention when it comes to love and relationship issues.

The second is Uranus. Upon entering the gong is heard. Abrupt and sudden is its entrance, breaking the viewer’s concentration. Uranus the game changer, the great awakener, is in a square aspect to Venus and to the Sun and the Moon.

Uranus energy is electric, its square to the Sun makes us impulsive, restless and tense.

Its square to the Moon stirs uncertainty, feelings of anxiety and emotional tension.

Uranus square Venus. The starlet wants constant attention but it will not be easy to have it yet… Our play starts with a love that comes unexpectedly out of the blue, or with a sudden break in existing relationships. Or with both, one after the other…

Under the uncertainty and the tension, new affairs that start may end abruptly. Summer love or just sex may come but will be short lived. Existing relationships may undergo separations that may be temporary. That is the nature of the planet Uranus, unpredictable.

NEW MOON IN LEO 31 JULY 2019

Mercury is stationary ready to go direct in the Sign of Cancer. This may lead to second thoughts, whether our emotional security is worth to be protected and not shaken by the new.

Mercury is opposite Pluto an aspect that brings a nearly obsessive re-examination of the situation. If we are single we ponder on the depth of our and the other person’s feelings, or we may fixate on the object of desire. If we are in a relationship we examine its worth and weigh the possibility of the separation.

Mars is still in a trine to Jupiter, though the aspect is separating, and Jupiter is trine to the Sun and the Moon.

What that means is that however frivolous, or eccentric, or unconventional, any new affair may be, we can still have fun since the libido remains high. Even if it is stopped suddenly, its post- feeling will be that of joy.

In the second scenario, that of relationship tension, breaks and our need to break free, the Jupiter aspects means that there is always a way to “sort it all out”… through humor, and some good mood.

This New Moon starts the month with a disruption of the normal and the element of surprise regarding our relationships and love life. It of course also affects partnerships, as well as financials bringing sudden expenses.

FULL MOON IN LIBRA 19 APRIL 2019

The Full Moon takes place at 29°and 06’ of the Libra Sign. It strongly affects Aries and Libra Signs and also Cancer and Capricorn Signs which are born at the last days, as well as those having personal planets, points or their Ascendant, near the 27° – 29° degrees of the Cardinal Cross.

The proximity of the Full Moon to the first degrees of the Fixed Cross affects also Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, and Aquarius persons that are born in the first 2 days of their Sign, or those hose having personal planets, points or their Ascendant, near the 00° – 02° degrees of the Fixed Cross.

 

For those of you that feel that these last two weeks was like walking on a muddy terrain, with each step sinking deeper, this Full Moon marks the hard last mile. The last period of trudging through, towards breaking free again, able to spur into limitless action.

But in order to feel free again, one has to find the courage to make the necessary breaks. Freedom costs, and freedom is in its essence an internal psychological state.

That is the difficulty and the crisis that this full moon in Libra presents.

Have you noticed? We are having a Full Moon in Libra, again!

The last Full Moon took place on 21st of March 2019 and it was at 00°09’ of the Sign, with this one now happening at 29°06’. The previous one marked a pivotal period that now comes to completion with this full moon.

The previous, with its timing and emphasis on the critical 0° marked the urge for something new that had to emerge out of the crisis, while this one, is the ending of the beginning.

 

This Full Moon in Libra is the last labor pains before the birth of our individual expression breaks free. A breaking free that is astrologically symbolized by the participation of planet Uranus into the Full Moon.

Uranus is in a tight conjunction with the Sun in Aries. Our very self, our will, has to be expressed with dynamism and zeal. We want to renew ourselves and to make changes that are the result of our unique and original expression. This Moon calls for self-realization, (Sun conjunct Uranus in Aries.)

We have to attain this, because this is the last step (29° anaretic degree) prior to regaining our inner value, our tranquility and our peace of mind, (symbolized by Taurus the next Sign after the 29° Aries).

But this is not easy because with the Sun in the last degree of Aries we find ourselves in a difficult situation. If we assert ourselves too much and we have a reactive behavior, it is quite possible to unbalance our relationships in an irrevocable way.

The Moon in Libra seeks balance, diplomacy and compromise. It wants harmony, aesthetics and sharing of feelings with others. But if the important others do not agree with our choices, feelings tend to erupt (Uranus opposition Moon). Tactfulness, patience and thoughtfulness towards others says the heart but how to do it and being ourselves at the same time?

This hesitancy (Libra) to acτ (Aries), is about to end.

The muddling started with Mercury retrograde in Pisces. Α retrogradation that started from 29° Pisces, another anaretic degree, that marked both a slowness in progress and a guilty retrospection. Thoughts were not clear, over idealized and daydream prevailed over practicality.

This is about to end.

Mercury moved direct again on March 28th , but still moving within its shadow and within the Sign of Pisces for the past weeks, gave lack of clarity and a lack of determination, while at the same time we were expending ourselves with too much of a Piscean compassion and understanding of others.

This is about to end.

 

FULL MOON IN LIBRA 19 APRIL 2019

The chart is difficult.

The two Lights are still in a wide separating T-Square with Pluto. The psychological pressure must have been great. The sentimental manipulation from others must have been exhausting.

This too, is about to end.

 

Mercury will enter Aries on the 17th of April, two days before the Full Moon. At last our thinking will be cleared. Entering Aries, Mercury will come into mutual reception with Mars in Gemini.

At last! Thinking and action will become one. Decisiveness will come, and most important we shall find the courage to speak our mind.

This is the tricky part of this Full Moon in Libra and where cautiousness is needed. We have to be us, speak us, and move on from the sentimental wallow and into clear words. But under Uranus rebellious energy we have to be cautious. Do not give in. Do not compromise but also do not erupt in anger or arguments.

One more astrological reason that says that we have to be cautious, is the fact that two days after the full moon Mars will enter into out of bounds declination, contra- parallel to Jupiter. Unbridled, uncontrolled, excessive and in a high-energy state.

 

Picture the movement of the planets.

Two days before this Full Moon that wants us not to compromise and brings a crisis in the balance of relationships, we will feel the need to speak our mind and to move on, while two days after the full moon, our energy will be so high that it will be difficult to control.

There’s a saying, “to make an omelette you have to crack a few eggs”.

That is what this Full Moon wants from us.

To have the courage to confront oppositions in relationships, and to express our individuality even if we have to argue. We have to slowly and cautiously move on, with clear head and free of unnecessary sentimentalism. We have to be prepared for sudden eruptions and arguments, but at the same time to use all confrontation in the most constructive way. To rebuild and renew our relationships through them.

We just have to break some eggs… without spilling everything onto others faces.

The partial Solar Eclipse on January the 5th or 6th, depending on your place in the globe, is the first of five in total, eclipses, three solar and two lunar, which will occur in 2019.

This eclipse is also part of the series of eclipses on the Cancer – Capricorn axis. These eclipses began with the Solar Eclipse in Cancer on July 13 2018, and shall continue throughout 2019, up until the summer of 2020, when they will be completed.

This cycle of eclipses in the Cancer – Capricorn axis coincides with the gradual approach of Saturn towards Pluto and their conjunction in Capricorn in January 2020, thus signaling a period of 18 months that will bring significant changes to Capricorn and Cancer Signs, and also to Aries and Libra Signs, since for them, the effect of the eclipses is stronger.

The solar eclipse of January the 5th / 6th takes place at 15 ° 25′ of the zodiac Sign of Capricorn and is a “multidimensional” and complex eclipse with a variety of expressions, at cosmic and individual level.

Focus: Saturn and Pluto

The Sun-Moon conjunction in the Capricorn Sign gives at a cosmic level a semester marked by significant changes in matters of how power is managed and administered world-wide.

The two Lights are in conjunction to Saturn and Pluto and also lie on the midpoint of the two planets. Saturn and Pluto is a combination capable of enhancing the ambitions, goals, and the control that exert, various governmental, corporate, or other hierarchical structures.

Saturn also forms a sextile aspect to with Neptune, an aspect that helps such designs and power visions to be realized, and be at the same time accompanied by a series of necessary reality checks, before they are put into effect.

Background: Jupiter and Neptune

At the same time, however, on the chart of this eclipse, and throughout the year, the square of Jupiter and Neptune is an aspect that undermines these plans, since it speaks of a social disappointment that will be diffused.

A disappointment that stems from the fact that people’s common sense of just (Jupiter in Sagittarius), and a yet unspecified but full of dynamism (square aspect) social vision (Neptune in Pisces), are not represented within the corridors of power.

Jupiter – Neptune in a square of extreme idealism and disillusion, which combined with the great influence that the planet Uranus plays in the general planetary setting, may bring massive mobilizations.

Depth of Field: Uranus and the Moon’s Nodes

The planet Uranus began to form a square to the Moon’s Nodes during the summer eclipses, an aspect that came to a precision in November 2018, and which continues in this and the next eclipse, as also in every New Moon and Full Moon up until mid-March 2019.

The continuous square of Uranus with the Moon’s Nodes brings the energy of the planet into the heart of the events for the period that follows.

Uranus was also the last planet to go retrograde in the dance of the many retrograde planets of the previous summer, and its liberating and disrupting energy will once more start to express when it returns to a direct motion.

All the sparkling electricity, and revolutionary or subversive action, that lay hidden, now finds an outlet, and the fact that this begins in the same day as the Partial Solar Eclipse, shows us emphatically that at the cosmic level we will see protests and upoars in the coming months.

Mercury from 1 ° 21 ‘of Capricorn is at the same time in two aspects, a harmonic and a dynamic one, which give even more evidence of how the tension will be expressed.

Mercury in trine to Uranus brings to the power holders strategic thinking and technocratic control, (preserving prestige through control of knowledge, of science and of innovation).

On a square aspect to Mars (who is powerful in the sign of his rulership) brings controversy and juxtaposition of ideas. Angry voices and action that conflicts with what the technocratic power communicates and concedes.

We see how a militant scenario is formed, as the same planet, Mercury, simultaneously stirs strategic changes for the status quo on one hand, and gives voice to protesting and defending the independence of the individual, on the other.

Two other equally important astrological elements that point to the eruptive nature of this eclipse are, the fact that the eclipse is on the Mars/Uranus midpoint and that Mars, already at 3 ° 20’ of Aries, will activate the eclipse soon, on January the 23rd.

That is shortly after the accompanying Lunar Eclipse that will take place on the 21st of the month.

The New Moon takes place at 15°07’ of the Sign of Sagittarius. It mainly affects Sagittarius and Gemini persons and also Virgo and Pisces persons which are born in the second decan, as well as those having personal planets, points or their Ascendant, near the 13° – 17° degrees of the Mutable Cross.

A grandiose and illusive New Moon takes place on December the 7th in the Sign of Sagittarius.

Every New Moon marks a beginning. It is the proper period to start something or to plant the seeds of the new.

It is the perfect time to set our goals and aspirations. To filter them through the prism of the Zodiac Sign in which the New Moon is taking place, and to apply them to the area of our life that the House which the New Moon activates represents in our natal chart.

When the New Moon occurs in the enthusiastic and expansive Sagittarius Sign, it usually brings a renewal in spirits and a widening of our perception. It is a moon that fills us with optimism and makes us turn to the future, helping us to grasp the big picture.

 

This New Moon on December 7th is a mixture of exuberance and sparkling allure.

It has at its core the deceptive combined with the lavishly grandiose.

It looks like an invitation to attend the cosmopolitan party that takes place in the majestic mansion.

There, excitedly, we explore the garden and vast space. We talk to everyone, get to know each other and have fun. As the hours pass, the sweet drunkenness of the evening makes us all the more relaxed.

Our mood is tipsy, we attract glances and we vibe with sexual appeal. Within the haze of the drunken hour,  we do not understand that what we are seeing around us is not what it seems, and that the persons we get acquainted with, lead a life of exaggeration. They are here just seeking the experience for the sake of experience, in an effort to fill in their inner void or their vanity.

It is on the next day and without remembering exactly what happened during last night, that with a hangover we are trying to reassemble our thoughts and recollect.

What I wrote in the previous lines conveys in a characteristic manner the essence of this New Moon in Sagittarius. A moon in which Neptune’s participation is very intense.

The energy of this New Moon is expressed from three different poles.

a. Excitement and Exaggeration.

The New Moon takes place in the Sign of Sagittarius. This by itself is adequate enough to fill us with optimism, spontaneity, craving for travel and having new experiences, but is also capable to give recklessness or lack of moderation. All traits of the enthusiastic Sagittarius.

Jupiter is also in the sign of Sagittarius and in a conjunction aspect to the New Moon. The aspect may be separating and at a not close distance of  8° 44’ , but nevertheless it manages to color the New Moon, all the more, since Jupiter is also the planet ruling this lunation.

Cheerfulness, enthusiasm, cosmopolitan flair, desiring to go out and have fun, all in a buoyant, boisterous mood and allegro hype.

The reason I emphasize that all this will be felt with enough exaggeration, is that planet Jupiter, dignified in the Sign it rules, does not channel its energy anywhere else, but only towards the two Lights. The lights themselves are only making hard, square and sesquisquare aspects and as a result the Jovian energy is expressed in its less positive.

b. Seductive Intoxication

Mars and Neptune are in close conjunction in the Sign of Pisces.

On its own, this is an aspect that combines mystery with Zen inertia. It expresses artistically, gives ambivalent sexuality or a unisex sex appeal. It is an aspect of a dreamy masculinity that entails fraudulent actions.

This Mars – Neptune conjuction is like a seducing smile.

Mars and Neptune are at the same time at square aspects to the New Moon.

Here we don’t have planet Mars alone, which makes a square with the Sun and the Moon, and so creating tension, agitation, irritation or aggression. We have a Mars that having adopted the Zen of Pisces, is becoming seductively mysterious under the influence of Neptune.

So…place the energy of Mars-Neptune upon the cosmopolitan mood and excitement that I have described before, and the party begins!

Into the mix there is also Neptune square to the Sun, an aspect that gives idealism, quixotic pursuits and an altered sense of ego.

There is also the square of Neptune to the Moon, which brings non-rational reactions, emotional sensitivity and an escapist idiosyncrasy.

So…the party goes on, in mood of inebriation. We will seduce and we will be seduced. Just, let us be careful not to feel intense disappointment, when the next morning comes.

3. Independence and expenses

Uranus in opposition to Venus has already brought the element of independence in what we like and in how we relate.

It is an opposition that has been in action since last September. The aspect was exact once more, while Venus was retrograde within Scorpio, and it was repeated for the third time, with Venus being direct, a few days before this New Moon.

So… for those relationships that have survived the test of the previous period, caution is now needed, because the New Moon gives in to relaxation, diffusion and an appetite for romantic adventures, which when combined with the Venus opposition Uranus aspect, may easily cause relationship cracks.

This is an opposition that can also bring sudden expenses or even surprises and excitement in our love life, in the case we are single. But any new contacts will not be having long-term prospects.

It is an opposition, which in my opinion plays an important role in the chart of this New Moon, since Uranus is placed at the same degree with the Moon’s Nodes, and at the same degree with planet Mercury that is ready to go direct in the Sign of Sagittarius.

Uranus in square to the Nodes, and Mercury in a trine-sextile aspect to them, just as it comes out of its retrograde motion, is a combination of aspects that reminds us suddenly that we must accept the changes with an open mind. We are coming out of the revision process of the previous days, and though the headache lingers a little more, we will soon be able to make sober decisions, looking towards the future.

Epilogue

The New Moon in Sagittarius on December the 7th is ideal to renew us and make us relax. It seems to be a moon that favors light-hearted fun and escaping by traveling or by reading a good book.

But it is also a moon that calls for our attention to some matters, depending on the house which it activates in our astrological map.

  • It is a New Moon that does not favor new beginnings or plans that need practical and solid foundations.
  • It is a New Moon in which we must be careful not to act with over-enthusiasm and excessive optimism since we find it difficult to realistically assess the situations.
  • Finally, it would be advisable, that we take care to not overdo it with drinking and revelry, be on alert for deceptive loves, viroses and abuses, because all these may easily result in fatigue and emotional exhaustion.

 

That’s why the following sentence from the novel “The Great Gatsby” by F. Scott Fitzgerald, comes to my mind, as it perfectly sums up the energy of this New Moon.

“I’ve been drunk for about a week, and I thought sitting in the library would make me again sober.”

Gatsby did not manage to make it sober.

We can.
